I cant give this home Depot a lower rating because theres no lower rating . It has the worst floor associates I have seen . It seems most of them try to hide from the customer. They avoid eye contact afraid you ask a question. They dont say hello or much less greet you. I been going to this home Depot for more than 10 years and the service has not improved. I just look up the product Im looking for in their web site and I get it myself so I dont waste time trying to hunt down someone who might know where the item is. Although, most of the time this works for me, I still have problems. One example, I saw a patio set on sale. I looked it up online and according to their website they had 2 in stock. Rented a truck and went over to the patio section. After asking several associates, I finally found the person working in that area. Showed him the item in my phone. He looked around the area and said they had none in stock. I proceeded to tell him that their website showed 2 in stock . He simply said, well I dont see any. i had rented a truck, so I was determined to go home with a patio set, so I went to find the manager and explained my situation. He found the patio set in back of the store.

This is one of the few individually-owned Home Depot franchises. Generally speaking, it is pretty well stocked, considering the economic downturn and there being not much need for a large inventory. This store does have almost everything the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) homeowner could possibly want in terms of tools and supplies. In recent years, however, a massive presence of Day Laborers have congregated here and at nearby properties to seek work. For a while, the police were scattering them, but now the parking lot has people seeking work circulating around the parking lot instead of being all standing together in one easy-to-patrol spot. However, most are aware to not engage in their previous "aggressive panhandling" technique. Generally speaking, this is not a bad Home Depot and its not a bad construction-oriented department store. As a hardware store, its pretty good. Contrast and compare with their nearest competitor, Lowes, which is all of the way over in Germantown, MD.

Last week, my wife and I bought a new washer & dryer here. Before doing so, we showed the salesperson photos and gave detailed measurements of our old washer/dryer and of our laundry room. We were assured the new washer/dryer combo would fit (Home Depot had delivered & installed the old combo too). WRONG! Today the delivery men said the new dryer was too deep and the new washer couldnt be installed either (claimed we needed a plumber). After calling the store several times over the past hour, waiting a on hold each time, and ultimately being disconnected, Im writing this review in the hope someone in authority reads it and calls me with an explanation (and a solution). Customer Service: Hello?!?! UPDATE: After 2 more days of phone calls (most of them disconnected) and an in-person visit to HD, I finally told them to cancel purchase and issue refund. I truly dont know how they stay in business! Will try Lowes next.

So, I would like to start off by saying how incredibly irked I was that I saw a bunch of the employees just sitting around, while my bf and I was standing by asking for help. After about 20 mins, I wouldve walked out, and just when I had given up, a man named Nick (looked to be in his 20s) took us right to the back of the warehouse with the carpets, he stuck with us, he was patient with us, he got us everything we needed to make a quick fix for carpet for an old room. He even chatted us up with casual conversation, lightened me up after I almost my temper earlier. Good guy, he was. I was in there March 3rd, on a whim, without a clue, needing all the help I could get. He was certainly helpful. Keep him around!!!

I was very pleased with the customer service I received in the plumbing department. The young man said he had to ask his supervisor if he could cut pipe and then didnt return for 10-15 minutes. In the meantime, a young woman came up to me (not me having to hunt someone down), asked how she could help, was very knowledgeable and then cut two pieces of 10 foot pipe into 12 smaller pieces. She was so pleasant. It wasnt the easiest for her, but she did it with no complaints. I now wished I had asked for her name because she needs a gold star and a raise in my opinion!!! I will continue to shop at Aspen Hill because of her even though Shady Grove Home Depot is more convenient to my home.

I went to the Aspen Hill Store Sunday with web plans for a work bench. I went up to the first guy I saw, saying, "Im one of those You can do it, we can help people. Will you help me get what I need for a project?" This young man shepherded me around the store for 40 minutes, enlisting the help of 2 aisle specialists on the way, finding hanger bolts and much more and cutting 2/4s. He studied the plans and gave me construction/assembly advise. I summoned the store manager who said he will get a bonus. In 15 years of by-passing the hardware store 4 blocks away in favor of HD, I have NEVER been disappointed in stock or service. Lowes is too far away, so I cant compare.

Ive had mostly positive experiences at this Home Depot. Like others have noted, the helpfulness of the staff is hit or miss. Ive never had to wait for a checkout counter and the returns line is well-managed at all times. On the other hand some of the floor staff that are supposed to be knowledgeable in their section very often just dont know how to help. Sometimes they want to but dont know, but this is becoming less common Im happy to say. Prices are very reasonable here and the online order in-store pickup is quick (although I wish they wouldnt give you a two-page receipt...).

if you needed to find the stupidest people on the planet for some reason no need to run around they are located at Aspen Hill Home depot. I asked for repair on my lawn mower and she put me on hold for about 10 minutes. she told me i would need to call the manufacturer and i asked for a number. I told it was her brand. she put me on hold and told me for another 10 minutes and than told me i could google it on the internet. Geez ? really what is the internet?!

Workers were rude and childish towards each other, even when they were trying to help customers. They couldnt find the material I needed and tried to tell me they didnt carry it.. maybe check lawn and garden.. lawn and garden told me it was seasonal.. concrete caps? Seasonal?? The only helpful people were the ladies at the customer service desk. Ended up going 30 minutes to Lowes to get GREAT service. Glad I wont have to be going back here..
