We are busy family renovating our older home. We wanted a dishwasher that would have a panel and blend in with the cabinetry to match and didnt want to spend hours researching. We visited Bray and Scarff and Don steered us in the direction of a kitchenaid. We get it home and no matter what we did it stuck out a good bit (the opening we had was standard sized). We go online and research the problem only to find out that the kitchenaid will not sit flush in a standard opening, although the Bosch will. It never occurred to us to ask because why would you make a panel ready that didnt sit flush? We call Bray and Scarff and they tell us that they will charge a 20% restocking fee (on a $900 dishwasher) to make the exchange. They suggest that we could just remove the drywall behind the dishwasher to have it sit flush, however. We do some more research and determine that would be against the fire code- we would have essentially created a chimney up the wall cavity if we did that. I talk to Greg, the manager, and he gives me kind of a hard time and acts like he is doing us a big favor to lower the restocking fee to "only" 15%. My husband calls back a couple of hours later to give him the new model number only to find out he has left for the next couple of days and we can only deal with him. We couldnt devote any more time to this and had no dishwasher with three kids. We wound up paying our builder to remove the drywall and install fire blocking to make the kitchenaid fit so that we wouldnt have to deal with Bray and Scarff anymore. I think you could argue that the salesman wasnt obligated to tell us that model would not sit flush in a standard opening and we should have measured ourselves. You could probably also argue that we should be charged a restocking fee since the dishwasher was out of the box. However, you cant argue that we wouldnt have saved a lot of time, money, and headache if we had just done the research ourselves and gotten a good price online rather than relying on the sales staff of Bray and Scarff to know the ins and outs of the luxury appliances that they are selling. We wanted to support the little guy but got big box service at little store prices.

Just wanted to send a note praising the purchase and delivery process of my new washer and dryer. From the moment my husband and I entered the store on Richmond Highway in Alexandria,VA, I felt comfortable that our purchase would be handled professionally. Mr. Tyrone Gibson, store manager, was cordial, informative and ensured that our purchase suited our needs. He advised us of the advantages of an extended warranty and filled out the paperwork needed for us to receive a rebate on the delivery charge. The purchase was easy, affordable and delivery scheduled in a timely fashion that suited our immediate needs. As for delivery, Kevin B and Pat (who incidentally called to inform us that the delivery would be sooner than we anticipated) were polite, clean, efficient and knowledgeable. There arose a point when the dryer vent posed a problem. They informed us of a temporary solution, waited and extra 20 minutes for my husband to and purchase the necessary part; installed it; explained how to use it and what it would do until we were able to get someone to fix the vent properly. This temporary fix enabled me to wash clothes that had been piling up for a week; which was very necessary. MAYTAG SS REFRIGERATOR – FRENCH DOORS – BOTTOM FREEZER – Feb, 2014 I have delayed my review so that I might provide a more balanced evaluation of the product and my experience. I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchasing experience at Bray & Scarff, which I attribute to Mr. Tyrone Gibson, Manager/Salesman. Mr. Gibson was not only professional, forthright and knowledgeable; but proved exceptional in his efforts to identify the perfect refrigerator within our budget, and with all the features we required to meet the needs of my elderly mother. Further, prior to delivery, Mr. Gibson visited my mother’s home on his own time to confirm placement measurements for exact fit; and followed up a couple weeks (in person) after delivery to make certain my mom was happy with this purchase. Mr. Gibson is now my “go to” person when I need any appliance. I have recommended him to friends and would highly recommend him to anyone in search of a new appliance. I went to Bray and Scarff in Alexandria to buy a Speed Queen washer and dryer as they are the only retailer in my area who sell them. Sales Consultant McKinley Anderson waited on me and I was out of the store in less than 10 minutes. He said the delivery team would call me the day before scheduled delivery, which they did. The delivery team called me 30 minutes before delivery as promised. Dede and Sallah showed up right on time, moved my stove to enable access to the basement (a very tight space!), and installed my new appliances in record time. I am very pleased with my first experience with Bray and Scarff. I will be buying all my appliances from them in the future. So refreshing to deal with a company that delivers as promised. I called Bray and Scarff ,upon the recommendation of a friend, to replace a Jenn Air gas cooktop with a more functional Viking. The installation was complicated and involved researching the appropriate replacement unit, developing a plan to modify the existing countertop and install a new ventilation system. The actual installation was also complicated and involved cutting granite and retro fitting a new ventilation system into existing duct work. I could not have been happier. The installers were extremely professional and took great pains to do a neat and precise job. I got great advice from the sales department concerning the selection of a replacement unit that would meet my requirements. I would recommend Bray and Scarff without hesitation.

We just got a refrigerator and dishwasher from Bray & Scarff. The entire process was great, and this will be our first go-to option for all our future appliance purchases. Ali was the one who helped us -- specifically he helped us stay in our budget, took time to go through options and answer all my questions so that I knew exactly what I was getting for my money, and very importantly made sure that what we ordered could be delivered quickly. The quick delivery was really important, since the initial reason we went with B&S was because our order from a different retailer was delayed three times. The other retailer promised delivery in 4 weeks (and delayed it to 6 weeks). B&S delivered everything in just 4 days.
