If you are thinking of using Home Depot for special orders or installs I urge you to turn the other way and head to Lowes or, even better, your local mom and pop contractors. I recently ordered three new entry doors, three new storm doors plus the installation service. After spending over $4,500 I have nothing good to say about Home Depot’s of Hanover customer service. To keep a long story short the installation was delayed due to lack of communication on their part. I finally gave up on being the polite customer and had to call and inquire on the whereabouts of my doors. Than when installation day finally came the experience was very negative. On the entry door to the back yard I requested a pet door. Simple enough. The door salesman at Home Depot sold me a pet door meant specifically for interior doors but failed to tell me so. The pet door has zero insulation so that heat/cold can pass freely from inside the house to the outside and vice versa. I called to complain and was given such a run around by Jim from customer service. As of this writing Home Depot refuses to make this matter right. I am asking that the interior pet door be taken out and instead an exterior one be installed but no dice. Jim said that he will call to follow up and he never did. The door installer documented the pet door in his system and told me that someone will contact me, no one has. So now I am stuck with a pet door that leaks heat like a sieve and with winter coming I am left with no solution.

In dealing with Home Depot as a contractor I have been very happy with the overall level of service that Ive received through the Contractor sales at the store. But lately thy have had some real issues with the Bimbos who answer the phone at the service desk. They refuse to give their name over the phone. This is absurd. I always identify myself immediately and i expect the same courtesy. These people are obviously lacking the skills needed to work the phone line. They somehow feel that giving their first name will create a threat to their well being and security. Ill be contacting the corporate office and requesting that these certain individuals be retrained on phone mannerisms. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The staff at the store and the store itself are great. Unfortunately the people they employ to do installations are not. I spent $8k on new LG appliances and the installers broke the dryer, the stove doesnt work and is leaking gas into the house and the microwave had a broken bracket which kept it from being installed as well. Very negative experience overall. Having countertops installed tomorrow and Im sure there will be issues. Take my advice, go to the store but avoid their installers.

So I walked in today and literally every sales associate that wasnt specialized.. i.e. cashiers and department specialists were on there phone pecking away.. even the promotional guy in front of the central a.c. units probably had a neck cramp from texting.. I could care less whether I receive help or not but to see people doing this when theyre supposed to be working really rubs me the wrong way..

Our èxperience has been simpĺy, not good. We concluded one major efforrt by cancelling a 7600$ contract. I could get no help nor satisfaction in wanting to buy sinks and faucets and garbage disposals - totaled over 1300$..Hopèfully you will not have the same multi department frustrations. Now findìng what I need with little or no help is a few starß more!

I dont have any brand loyalty to either Lowes or Home Depot, but there always seems to be something wrong, broken, or not in stock whenever I try to buy something at this location. Im sure its just coincidence but at these two particular competing businesses I go to the other.

I am a fan of Home Depot in general but I advise you avoid this location of possible. Either head to a different location or a competitor. The staff are friendly but many are not knowledgeable, make mistakes on special orders, and dont return calls as promised.

I go to HD over the other any day. There is always staff that are willing to help. Lowes seems to always have staff but you have to find where they hide and even then they arent helpful or knowledgeable. HD has a customer for life.

This is a pretty good store, I like comparing things to Lowes next door. However you will find things here that Lowes does not have, especially plywood types and Lumber. Great store with friendly and helpful associates.

Placed an order online for store pickup. They couldnt find it. Guess im off to lowes to finish the job.
