DO NOT USED HOBOS FOR YOUR REMODELING- I would not recommend going to Hobos on 27th st Milwaukee.. I special ordered my bathroom cabinets. The person that design the bathrooms mis calculated the vanity with the top. It doesnt fit. This is a spec house . They said I had to wait 3 weeks for a "special order top." I told Angela that I cannot wait 3 weeks. I said my contractor can make the top fit by losing a drawer and and about 3 hours of carpentry work. I ask for a 100.00 compensation. Do you think this is unfair? They also screwed up my Island in the kitchen. So if you plan on "special ordered" Kitchen & Bathroom cabinets and they screw up. They will not compensate you ...Angela words-Our goal is to sell products for 10-50% less than other retailers. To meet that goal we do not mark-up our products as much as other retailers. The other guys typically charge higher prices to all of their customers and then offer "compensation" if things do not go according to plan. We have chosen the strategy of compensating all our customers up-front with lower prices, and respectfully asking that they understand that as a business practice, while we make every effort to correct any of our errors or product satisfaction concerns, we do not offer additional "compensation". Angela response in its entirety- Dear MaryJo In todays very competitive marketplace, I know you had many options when choosing your home improvement retailer. I am grateful you gave HOBO a chance. I am very sorry to hear about the issue with your bathroom vanity and the poor service you received in my store. I want to assure you that we value all our customers and I will do my best to address your concern. Also there is no excuse for poor service. It was unacceptable that you were not helped in a timelier manner, and I apologize on behalf of HOBO. I will re-address customer service with my management team and staff to prevent situations like yours from occurring in the future. I would certainly understand if you never shopped HOBO again, but I would appreciate another opportunity to show you how good we really are. As per our phone conversation on Friday, 2-13-15, I did ask that you send me an email with all the issues that had transpired so that I could address each of your concerns and issues. I wanted to make sure that I had a full understanding of the entire picture and addressed each of your concerns. Please note HOBO is a discount retailer. Our goal is to sell products for 10-50% less than other retailers. It is both our policy and our main priority to provide low costs to all our customers. With that being said, once I had your email and addressed all of your issues and concerns, along with resolving them I would have had a better understanding of what I could of done to make up for the issues you encountered. Once again, I thank you for taking the time to notify us of your experiences. HOBO strives to provide great values for our customers, and feedback from our customers is necessary for continued improvement. I do understand that experiences like the one you mentioned have lost customers from many retailers in the past. I can only hope that a sincere apology and an attempt to rectify the situation will give you the incentive to continue to shop at HOBO. Sincerely, Angela De Guire Store Manager Milwaukee, WI 53221

Amazing store Ive been to the one on hwy 100 and Ive always loved it there but I never knew this store existed. Its a cleaner, neater much more organized store. The hobo staff is so nice and the manager seemed so involved. I knew what I was looking for in seasonal and furniture because the hwy 100 store I normally go to was to busy the lines were backed up in the store so I gave up when I over heard the people in front of me say thats why they go to the 27th street store, I then googled it and left asap. When I got there wow....I walked into a bay of TVS I said to myself wow....I didnt even know hobo really sold the variety of TVS that are present I got to tell everybody the deals on them wow....I went to seasonal and man it was outlined perfect no clutter you could see all the product easily a Latino lady was so helpful she was knowledgeable and well spoken. I walked to furniture and appliances and it was again so organized and neat and clean and so many employees I couldnt walk down an aisle without an employee over there asking me if I needed assistance it was refreshing. I got everything I wanted and some moral to the story because I never knew they had all this stuff because of how presented it is and friendly their staff is. But unfortunately when I checked out and left I went outside and I was walking to my car and it was a herd of guys standing around in parking lot one guy begging me for change another guy begging me to buy dvds and Cds I felt like I just want to go home the guy asking me for change walked over to my truck and said I can help you unload it for a couple bucks I told him I appreciate his offer but I had it as I dont carry paper just plastic and he looked at me very aggressively. I felt he was gonna Rob me or something he was a huge guy. In conclusion I loved the store loved the staff loved my experience far better at the 27th street location but I fear for my safety their when Im coming or going so I wont go back without friends with me but outside of that I recommend people try it. Im gonna stick with my safe store in West Allis I just have a family and dont ever want to put them in danger. That store is in an area that is in major decline. I hope the store lasts

Had bought two sofas at the HOBO on hwy 100 who did not have them in stock. Called this store and informed the lady who answered the phone that I bought two sofas on hwy but had not picked them up yet due to not having the sofas in stock and asked if the one on 27th street had any of them. The lady stated "Yep, we have three in stock but you better hurry and get them." So when down to 27th street within 30/45 minutes upon arriving at the store went to lane 1 and informed the lady at the checkout we were here to pick up these items and provided her with the invoice we had gotten at hwy 100. She then took the invoice staired blankly at it and proceeded to take it to a manager I think who proceed to come back to the lane and inform us that they cant accept sales from hwy 100 and we would have to go back to hwy 100 cancel the order them come back to the 27th street store and rebuy the items. Upon the manager informing us of this the HOBO employee who answered my original phone call came walking over with an attitude informed the manager that she took the call but stated I only asked if they had the sofas in stock and did not inform her that we bought them from the hwy 100 store. The proceeded to turn at look at me. I then again informed the employee who answered my original phone call that I opened the phone conversation with a brief history outlining what had transpired at hwy 100 store and the reason I was asking them of they had any in stock. The employee then proceeded to look at the manager and stated thats not what was said on the phone call then turned and started to walk away. After being called a liar by this HOBO employee I flipped out informed the manager and the employee of what I thought of their amazing Customer Service and proceeded to walk out the door. I will NEVER do business nor will I recommend anyone ealse do business either with HOBO on 27th street either! I also will be documenting this amazing experience with the Better Business Bureau!
