In August 2013 I decided to begin biking to work to save some money (my wife and I sold our second car). Bike commuting was new to me; I have an old Gary Fisher Marlin mountain bike; but, after riding it to and from work 20 miles/day for about a month I started to wonder if there was a faster, more comfortable biking option for my commute. After doing a lot of research, I decided I wanted a specific Scott road bike and I started looking around for the right price. Im a bigger guy and need a 61cm frame so it was a little bit of a challenge to find the bike I wanted in the size I needed. Finally one day I was perusing KSL and I came across an add from Salt Cycles indicating that they were doing a promo for 0% financing on Scott and Felt bikes. When I went to their location in Sandy and started looking at bikes and talking to the workers about what I was looking for, I was very impressed with the service I received. The employees seemed knowledgeable and willing to give honest opinions about different bikes, components, etc. After talking with the employees for a few min, the owner came in and jumped right in when I had questions about the price and the financing promotion that I saw on KSL. After all was said and done, and based on the suggestion of the people at Salt Cycles, I ended up buying a Felt Z series road bike for a few hundred dollars less than the Scott I had decided I wanted before coming in. I did end up financing it for 0% interest (I think it was a promotion so dont go expecting that option available whenever you want). I have been riding to work for about 9 months now, including all through the winter. I have been VERY happy with the bike that I got from Salt Cycles. I have also returned a few times for tune ups (free for a year when you buy your bike from them!). The shop staff knows their stuff and my bike always comes out working like it did the day I bought it! Recently I have had some issues with spokes breaking (Im a big guy--66", 310lbs) and Salt Cycles has done a very nice job helping manage the cost for me. They even reached out to Felt to see about getting some help with the cost of the new wheel I ended up buying as the bike is not even a year old. I cant say enough about how honest and helpful the people at Salt Cycles are. I highly recommend this bike shop for anyone looking either for repairs on your current bike or options for buying a new one. These guys wont screw you to make a buck; they will take care of you. Five stars and a lifetime customer!

Very unprofessional bike shop. Went in for a 35 dollar tune up. They did 90 dollars of work without asking my permission. They "fixed" my brakes which then failed three minutes into an intense downhill run causing me to crash. The mechanics were very rude and tried to hint that it was my lack of skill that caused the crash saying things like "I dont even us my back brake". They agreed to take 20 dollars off a new brake if i ordered through them. I did, they took much longer then they said they would to get the part and install it causing me to miss a bike trip we had planned. Charged me to install the brake and fix my gears again from the tweak when i crashed. BOTTOM LINE- 190 dollars later my gears are worse, brakes are the same. Go anywhere but here, dont be fooled by the seemingly low price. You will end up paying more for less.

I recently had a bike stolen and Ive been working with my insurance to get it replaced. I had decided on a specific model that would be covered by insurance and checked in to see if they had it. As it turns out they did not, but they were willing to work with me and got the next model up lowered to a price that my insurance company would cover. They even offered to take it back if for some reason insurance wouldnt accept it (they wont have to). I was very impressed that they were so willing to work with me in this situation. My only complaint would be the lack of information on their website. In this day and age its nice to get information from home. It was almost enough to get me to skip the store, but Im very glad that I didnt. If youre looking for a bike, at least stop in and see what they have to offer.

Great shop! There is a great atmosphere there and the staff really know how to connect with customers. When my old bike crapped out, I had them help me build up a bike from a frame I purchased. While the bike cost a bit more than I expected, Im happy to support a shop that really looks to its customers. We did run into a few hiccups trying to everything put together, but the shop worked with me and everything turned out great. I can now train for my upcoming race season and I have a rad new bike!

Awesome experience! I walked in on a Monday with a squeaky lower crank and a loose rear hub. I was out of the shop in about 40 minutes with a freshened up bike and a surprisingly small $20.00 bill for service. Everyone there was polite from the technicians to the owners who took some time talking with me regarding questions I had about gear and accessories. Very friendly and zero pressure to purchase, I am definitely returning for future bike needs! Thank you Salt Cycles!!! Emery

I was building a new bike and ran into a couple of tough spots where I didnt have the proper tools for the job. I brought in my partially finished build to Chris who helped me so much. First of all, he understood what I was trying to do, but mostly he knew where I would run into trouble as I completed the job. He did a couple of things that saved me tons of time and let me get out on the bike much faster!

I love this shop!! They always take care of my bike issues and have such amazing customer service. Amy and Chris are so friendly! When my carbon bike cracked, they set me up with a new rear triangle before even sending the bike back to the manufacturer. They love bikes and people and will set you up with the bike and maintenance that is right for you. I highly recommend this shop :)

If you read nothing else read this part, go there now! With that being out of the way I would send friends and family here with out blinking an eye. They took care of the woman I love with no issues and have helped her get the bike just the way she wants. And they have been friendly and accommodating the entire time.

I have always had a great experience here and would highly recommend them as a go-to bike shop. Ive been to a LOT of shops in SL valley and Utah Valley and this is definitely one of my favorites. Love the owners too - really appreciate the group rides, demos, and community involvement! Thanks!!

I have been very pleased with this shop. Not only did they sell me a carbon fiber GT for a great price, but they do all the service at a great price and they are quick in getting it back to you. My whole group of riders have their bikes serviced here. Great shop with great people. Give it a try!!!
