TLDR: If youre braving the backcountry and know your gear, this is the shop for you. If youre looking for that cute TNF vest to cruise around main street in, youre better off elsewhere (At least until you realize ArcTeryx is sexier anyways). These guys are the real deal. I work for a larger outdoor outfitter outside of Phoenix, and I always like to check out outdoor shops when I travel. I know most gear/brands fairly well, so its just fun to check out the local assortment. I decided to check out White Pine Touring as suggested by the woman I spoke to at Jans. I was thoroughly impressed by the selection and the quality of gear at WPT. All the other outfitters around town left me scratching my head wondering, "How can they not carry *enter basic piece of gear here*?" But WPT had all the odds and ends, which is especially impressive for a shop with a relatively small footprint. They may not have all the gear that larger stores with more square footage (outside of Park City) have, but they definitely have the choice pieces; its obvious the owners know gear, and it shows through their choices of which peices to carry. The staff was super friendly and authentic. They were attentive when I had questions, but didnt hassle me while browsing. One even gave me a tip on the best climbing gym in town as I was checking out a guide book for the area. My only regret is that I didnt find these guys earlier in my 5 day trip. I cant wait to visit again next time Im in town to see how the store transitions once the AT assortment comes in! Keep rockin, WPT. Oh! And make WPT logo stickers, I want to rep you guys in my travels!

Walked into the store on a Wednesday looking for a specific Specialized mountain-bike that my wife and I had been looking for on line and was greeted by a friendly young man. He said they did not have the bike on the floor but could have it delivered the next day from their Kamas warehouse. We left our phone number but no one called. We are from Heber City so we are in Park City often, we stopped by the next day because we were in town and no one knew what was going on with the bike. Another young man called the warehouse to see if the bike had been sent and the answer was no but they could send it on the 5:00 truck and it would be ready to look at by noon on Friday (this was Thursday). We came back at 2:00 on Friday and again no one had a clue about the bike. It turns out that it was being built but would take another 30 minutes to complete. We stood around for 40 minutes while the guys in the back ignored getting it done. We left, that was enough! The staff seemed nice but there is just no organization at all. Worse yet, they still have my contact information but have yet to call...sad really.

Celebrated my birthday this week with my family on a moonlight snowshoe hike led by Victoria. Our group included three children - ages 6, 9 and 11 and three adults and EVERYONE had a fantastic time! It was just the right balance of exercise and enjoyment as we hiked up the mountain taking periodic breaks to view the moon and stars from the cover of the trees and had a blast hiking/sliding back down the hill. At Victorias suggestion we completed the evening with a meal at a restaurant on the hill which was absolutely awesome. It could not have been a better birthday celebration. Incidentally, I met Victoria the first time last Fall when she took me on a guided 3 hour bike tour - she tailored it to my skills and physical ability and I had so much fun trying out the local trails for the first time. The bike I rented for my trip from White Pine had a minor issue but they replaced it with no problem and I cannot wait to get out there again when the snow clears!

I rented a high end mountain bike from White Pine Touring for 1 day. The staff did a fine job setting up the bike and was very friendly. Upon returning the bike, the staff said they found a broken bolt on the front wheel brake lever. I was told they would need to replace the whole brake lever and that I was lucky, this would only cost $100. This was not a new bike and the brake lever worked fine. Further, not only could a whole new brake lever be bought online at several bike shops for less than $35, but the MSRP was only $60. Upon showing this to the manager, he said would use that price but needed to charge an extra $20 for the service. Its bad enough they charged me for the most ticky-tac thing but its so much worse that they blatantly lied to rip me off. They might have a "nice" staff, but they do not care about their customers and will try to nickle and dime you at every turn. I would recommend using one of the many other good, honest shops in park city.

We planned a 50th birthday mountain bike trip through White Pine where we rented premium bikes and booked a guided tour. Logan and Mike were very helpful and patient leading up to our arrival. Upon our arrival, Logan and George were great helping us get the bikes set up and recommending trails to ride. The next day we had a great tour with Brandon. Brandon was an excellent, experienced guide who respected our ability and pace. Super friendly and a pleasure to ride with. The shop is super friendly and make you feel very welcome. The premium bikes were great and absolutely worth the extra cost. The shop location is very convenient to Main Street. Everything we did with White Pine turned out great and we would highly recommend them.

We ran into one of your guided climbing tours up in the Uintas last weekend and I could not have been more unimpressed. Not only did your guides run top-ropes down the majority of the wall we were all sharing that day, they hiked up, and dropped a rope down on top of us on a route we were just roping in to sport climb. It was blatantly obvious that it was intentional and when we tried to talk to the guide all he said was "yeah, sorry." Maybe some forethought could be used next time if youre bringing a group of 15 people to a wall with only 6 "sport" routes on it but as a warning to future groups, hire a different service that doesnt bully locals who have just as much of a right to climb in those same places.

Quality and well maintained equipment, friendly staff. A Responsibly managed business. My original complaint is below, but after being contacted by the manager a fair arrangement was reached. My advice to all in aid of avoiding confusion is to clearly communicate your abilities and expectations to the guide prior to commencement of the ride. Especially if you are of a higher fitness and/or skill level. Original comment: Paid for a 3hr fat bike tour and was rushed back in 1hr 30min. Not impressed.

I had a great experience here, renting a mtn bike. Mike was super helpful in getting me the bike I wanted and set-up for my ride. Mike also went over the top in helping me map out a ride. I was also able to purchase everything I needed to ride as I came a little under prepared. I went to White Pine Touring after visiting several other nearby shops and THIS is the place for mountain biking info and product. This will be my go to shop for all my future Park City visits!!
