I have made several purchases at Bassett in Mason, OH and while I like the quality of their upholstery, I have found the management of the store to be completely lacking of integrity and dignity. After a house fire, I visited Bassett to pick out a new sectional. I told the salesperson, Michael Annesse, who I later learned was the store manager, that I just needed a quote for my insurance company so I could get it approved and return to place the order. He convinced me to let him write up an order so i could take advantage of sale pricing, which ended that day. He assured me that the order could be cancelled if I could not quickly get insurance approval. After not getting an insurance approval within a few days, I called and told Michael to cancel the order. "No problem", he says. A week later I see that the charge is on my American Express. Upon calling Michael, he tells me it must have been a problem in the office and he will take care of it. A few weeks later I get a call telling me the furniture is in and ready for delivery. I call Michael again, and he has developed amnesia, unable to recall any of our past discussions. After multiple unreturned phone calls and fruitless visits to the store, I disputed the charge with American Express and wrote a pleading letter to the home office in NC and to the regional francise office in Louisville (the stores are not owned by the manufacturer). After several months of battling with them, they finally agreed to refund my credit card for all but $125 (the value of the cleaning kit Michael gave me on my initial visit). I am glad American Express was so great, otherwise I may be out several thousand dollars. While I would like to buy more of their furniture, I refuse to deal with these unscrupulous people. If you do buy anything from this store, dont believe anything they tell you that sounds appealing. Lots of bait and switching going on.

We love the furniture, the fabric and designer that helped us. What we absolutely HATE is the fact that after you pick fabric, the designer does a home visit and shows you the design plan and right before you say "yes" they tell you the furniture cannot be retuned and big sale ends today! And, I knew kinda get that. No time to go home and think about it. After furniture delivery, we discovered that there is no place for our Christmas tree and to get the firewood to the fireplace we have to hand it over the furniture. The room is too crowded for our taste. Ive tried living with it for a year now and realize one of the sofas has to go. Should have ordered two chairs instead of the second sofa the designer insisted was best for our great room. What a waste of $10,000. Never again. Never. Ever.

We had a great experience in dealing with Bassett. At the start, their designer Amanda prepared a story board showing furniture designs, colors, fabrics and accessories to make our living room and dining room look spectacular. The store manager, Diana sketched out how the window treatments would looked.This visual aid was very helpful. They made us feel important and listened to our comments and suggestions. It sold us and when the items arrived and were installed, they followed up to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. This was probably the best customer service we have ever had and we are definitely pleased with the results.

"i find that you learn alot more about a company when you have a problem than you ever do when everythng goes well. they forgot to bring both pieces when they came to deliver but were very apologetic and offered to return that day which was not necessary as we had bought the pieces spur of the moment and were getting ready to move. My wife asked them to come back the next wednesday and they were there early in the morning. We used the same sales lady again as she was really good the first time and was as well the second time. Thanks Trey"

Im not sure how upper management is, but I found the store manager to be very good at what she does. I needed a sofa in time for a party. I was called about two weeks before the delivery date and informed I could not get my sofa in time due to the fabric being back ordered. I told the store manager how important this party was and she told me she would do her best. Two weeks later I had my sofa in time for the party and I love it! I am very happy with what Bassett has done for me and will continue to do business with them!

The service was fine, but unfortunately the quality is lacking. I bought a chair and a half from the Mason location about two years ago, and the stitching on the side of the seat is coming apart. Highly disappointed, this wasnt a cheap chair.
