Ugh! Im going to attempt to keep my disdain to a minimum. Suffice it to say, Ive recently become a Lowes man. I went into the store last Sunday evening, around 5, looking for some kitchen accessories, as I entered the aisle for those specific accessories I was greeted by an overweight man with grey hair that pretty much stared at my wifes breasts the entire time he was talking about the specifics of the banbury collection. If his eyes had been lasers. My wife would have two MASSIVE holes where her lungs should be. Seriously guy, get a girlfriend. Anyway. He proceeded to answer most of my questions, but honestly wasnt very helpful and didnt want to seem to get the items down out of the high rafters. As I went to the next Aisle I was greeted, albeit nervously, by a young man who asked my wife and myself if we needed any help with the "kitchen stuff". At first I was worried because of my previous experience with the large gentlemen, and the young guy didnt seem comfortable in his approach, but he proved to be pretty knowledgeable about the kitchen section and had a friendly demeanor. Thankfully he was able to answer the majority of my questions without making my wife visibly uncomfortable. After that, I just needed some pipe cut, and he was able to do that too - we were on a roll at this point! He also cut some wire for a planter my wife is planning on hanging in our back yard. I also needed some help in the door section, but there was no one at the desk. The young man who had previously helped us in the plumbing section told us he would find someone to assist us, and sure enough. He came back around the corner with a gentlemen that was able to answer the majority of our screening questions. Its a shame Home depot doesnt have more associates in this store that go out of their way to help customers like that young fella. Too bad. Well, at least Lowes has a couple of gentlemen like that. I know I can always rely on their assistance.

On Monday 10/24/16, in order to answering customer’s simple question on the store normal appliances warranty in addition to manufacturer warranty: Anna of the store Pro Desk, asked customer to provide her the online order’s paper work, and took it away (twice) making customer waiting for 15 minutes, then forgot to give it back to the customer at the end. Anna made no effort to contact customer to pick it up, claiming she was trying (while she possess all customers contact from the paper work itself). When customer went through troubles contacting Anna the next day to retrieve her paper work, Anna suggested that it was thrown out by another Associate that worked on the previous shift, as she simply left it on the desk ?!? How could an organizations Associate handling customer’s important documents & sensitive personal information in such irresponsible manner ? This stack of paper work includes customer’s personal information (Credit card CVV jotting down), beside other important documents such as receipts (which can be reproduced), but also order details, comparison, manufacturer warranty, etc.

Terrible customer service. I dont know whats going with the Home Depot management at the Sunset Valley location, but as a customer, I could feel the disrespect and rudeness that these employees are expressing to me. Ive been going to this location for over 15 years, and every time I leave this store, I feel less and less willing to come back. Its like most of these employees (not all) are these old people (around the Baby Boomer generations) who act very rude and most likely racists towards non-whites. Ive even experienced a cashier, who looks to be Indian, ignoring us most the time and even telling us to get the receipt ourselves (even though that was CLEARLY her job to give us the receipt)! Its like these people are acting like its 1980 or something where minorities are shamed. Sorry but stop acting so arrogant and actually know how to run a business or you will regret it very soon. I highly recommend you stay away from this store, its full of uneducated, incompetent, close-minded and unproductive workers at Home Depot.

Unfortunately, they do carry many tools necessary for my business. But, the catch is that they are so poorly maintained and mistreated by customers that it usually costs me money. Ive had front end loaders break down on job-sites twice. The first time it blew a hydraulic line and the engine seized up all in thirty seconds, leaving the loader dead in the middle of the driveway of a flip house going on the market the next day. The investor was none too pleased. The second time another front-end loader blew hydro fluid all over my clients lawn, causing a dead/brown streak across the grass and flooding the sidewalk making it a slippery, unsightly hazard. Both jobs lost me money. Other times were smaller, but Ive had the following break on me: 2 front-end loaders 1 pressure washer 2 brick/masonry wet-saws 1 rear-tine tiller 2 sod cutters Ive since given up on them. Try locally owned rental companies. Thats who Ive gone to and they work. The machines are well kept and the fees and rental charges arent as ridiculous.

Poorly trained customer service representatives. Price match policy is misleading. Home Depot would not price match 2 Honeywell thermostats that I had purchased from them the day before. So I returned them and went to Best Buy who gladly matched prices for a savings of over $60. Also they botched up a credit card transaction which showed as pending and would not fix it as the my credit card company instructed so I had to wait for the charge to fall off 5 days later. Looks like Lowes has a new customer. I have spent thousands of dollars at this Home Depot over the last few years. It is consistently hit and miss. The manager is not available and does not even have the courtesy to return calls when he is called. They need to take down his picture and phone number as he will not return your call when you call his number. The management needs to be changed or quit taking the customers for granted.

This is absolutely the worst store to purchase anything that you might need installed. Weve bought a dishwasher and a sink from here and both have been nightmares. We purchases a dishwasher for our rent house and then bought the install work. While on vacation in Florida the install team showed up, said it wouldnt fit, then left. My father in law had to go over and do it himself. We then bought a sink and purchased the install. ARS came over, pulled the old sink, said the new one wouldnt fit because it had rails, and left. We spent a week going back and forth with managers and the kitchen design department until we finally had to hire a countertop guy to cut the countertop for us. As I sit here writing this the ARS technician just arrived four hours into the four hour window and is saying that he has to charge more. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY INSTALLATION FROM HERE.

I needed a water heater replaced and asked for a few quotes from local companies. One company said $1200. I thought that was funny until another company said $1600. $1600 to install a $270 water heater. Id have installed it myself if I wasnt worried about flooding the people who live in the condos below mine. In the end, the Home Depot did the whole project for me for $670. I know Austin loves its "mom and pop" businesses, but when everyone else in town is charging 200-300% more for the same service, I wouldnt be saddened at all to see all these mom and pop ripoffs go bust. Thanks, Home Depot. Youve helped keep this landlord in business.
