I have always shopped at HEB for my weekly groceries. They had good products at reasonable cost; however, when the Walmart Neighborhood Market opened up at 24809 Aldine Westfield Rd, Spring, TX 77373, I decided to give it a try. The layout of the store had a cozy “small store” charm about it that I liked, the 24 hour store was nearby, and the Walmart employees were kind and courteous. I strongly considered spending my $150 of weekly grocery money at Walmart instead of HEB. Price comparison between the two stores generally balanced out with the exception of one item near and dear to my family, milk. My family was built on milk, and I buy between 5 and 8 gallons of milk per week. Walmart milk is some of the most expensive in the area. It sells for $2.82 per gallon whereas HEB sells for $1.99 and Aldi sells for $1.79. This difference alone would prevent me from switching my loyalty to Walmart, but Walmart does have a price match policy. So I looked up the Walmart price match policy from their corporate website. Updated November 10, 2015, the policy in general states, “We’re committed to providing low prices every day, on everything” followed by a few exceptions to prevent abuse of the policy. I figured ok. Let’s give this a try. My wife had used it for years at other Walmart stores to buy the family milk with no problems or conflict. Well, it worked at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, once, when I bought 6 gallons for the week, but I ran into problems the following week when I attempted to buy 5 gallons. The cashier would only allow a price match on 3 gallons as Walmart policy only allows price matching on 3 of the same items. I asked to speak to the manager. Customer Service Manager (CSM) Latravia responded and indicated that Walmart policy did, in fact, limit price match to 3 of the same items. Actually, the policy states, “We reserve the right to limit quantities to one-per-customer, per item, per day” and “The Store manager has the final decision on any Price Match”. So the policy does not actually say 3. Instead the store manager Jennifer Cain has decided to have a restrictive price match policy for her store. Jennifer Cain is misguided as the true purpose of a price match policy is to foster customer loyalty. The exceptions are meant to prevent a customer from abusing the policy. I was not abusing the policy. I merely wanted to buy the same 5 gallons of milk that I buy every week for my family from HEB at Walmart instead along with my other groceries. CSM Latravia could not understand this concept and was willing to permanently lose a potentially loyal, weekly customer to HEB over $2.00. Walmart, at that moment, lost a customer as I left the store without buying my groceries. Normally, I may have pursued the matter further up the chain, but I was recovering from an illness, and the encounter was already taking its toll on me. CSM Latravia was not courteous and was quite abrupt in her manner, especially, for a manager of customer service. I laugh at how Latravia’s title has “Customer Service” in it as she far from exemplified customer service. Maybe CSM Latravia should take some guidance from Walmart’s privacy policy which states, “At Walmart, our customers are number one – always. That’s why everything we do is focused on providing excellent customer service and delivering low prices”. Later, my wife contacted the assistant store manager, Sion (or Ashley if her name tag is correct), who was the manager on duty. Apparently, Sion already knew of the incident because another Walmart customer who witnessed my ordeal mentioned it to her after I left the store. Did Walmart potentially lose another customer? Sion backed up CSM Latravia, but was willing to give the price match for the milk. Sorry, but HEB got my money for the day. And they say $2.00 does not buy anything nowadays. Is customer loyalty anything?

Changed review from 5 to 1 after a few months of going here. Im done with this store. The manager must be incompetent because as youll see other reviewers state, in typical Wal Mart fashion most of the registers are closed every time I go. Youre lucky if you get 1 or 2 registers open on a normal day. They rely on the self serve registers which always have issues. Every time I go in the registers are slow, they lock up, and the attendent is never monitoring them. If you have alcohol you usually have to walk around and track down the attendent, if there is a problem with the register good luck. Ive had to go searching for the attendant on at least 4 or 5 different occasions. What did it for me was mothers day 2017. 2pm. The store was PACKED! Holiday weekend and only 4 of the 8 registers were open with every one of them lined up down the aisles there was so many people. I went to a self serve line because I only had 3 items. There was 3 people in front of me. After about 10 minutes of waiting in line the lady that was checking out told us it was cash only. No sign. No label on the register and no attendant telling customers it was cash only. so we all just wasted our time in this line. I decided to wait because I had enough cash to cover it if I put one item back. Then she claimed the register took money and didnt credit her for it. Aaannddd... You guessed it. No attendant. She had to walk off and find her. The manager was a couple of aisles over and didnt seem to care. At this point I switched lines to another self serve register. After another 10 minutes of waiting I was able to start checking out. I had alcohol... So of course the register needs bypass and you guessed right again... The attendant had walked off and was no where to be found. I waited for another 5 minutes for her to come back while the manager started checking someone else out on another aisle. Not even caring that we had been waiting and her attendant keeps disappearing. This is not a one time incident. Its like this every time I go into this store. The registers are always closed and the attendant is always missing. Save your time, drive a couple more miles to the HEB on 99 or down to the new Joe Vs. They had every single register open and it was lightening fast. It wasnt even a holiday weekend.

I have never a bad experience until today.. Its early 8:00a.m. Slow and quiet.. I only purchased 11 small items. Everything is small that it can be fitted into one Walmart plastic bag. The cashier op#00113 forgets to let me know that she placed my pets Cesar meals in a separate blastic bag, I get home, tried to feed my pet, and I realize that I dont have all my items.. I just cant get help get upset. The store is not busy yet, they are so quick to check. Bob and Lisa(bottom of basket) (look InSide Always), and are wasteful of bags. Landfills are full of those(plastic bags) Maybe they should include on their wire trainings to always check the Carousel together with the customer before they walk out of the store.. Think that they might be from out of town and will be even more frustrating than me to come back all the way to HARRIS. county to get their items.
