Jennifer in the eye glass department of the Carmel Mountain Costco, San Diego provides the opposite of customer service. At her discretion alone, she would not sell me the contact lenses I usually purchase(24 pack), because my prescription is expiring in one month. My prescription is current, I paid for that prescription with the doctor next door but because I was approaching my expiration she could only sell me a 12 pack. Ive been a contact lens user for 16 years and this is the first time I ever encountered something like this. I asked her if this was Costco Policy and she pulled out a printed piece of paper with no Costco Notation out of a binder which said they will only sell lens when the prescription is current (which it was). She is reinterpreting this policy very differently. I ask her,"This point you are trying to make, do you realize how silly this is?". She then replied that I was interpreting this situation as silly. I blankly stare at her without saying a word and then I think it finally struck her how ridiculous this situation was because it was then she changed her mind and said she would sell me the 24 pack after getting the doctors approval. She left to talk to the doctor and came back saying she will sell me the 24 pack. She goes to the case and then tells me shes out of the prescription I need. Whether that was actually true or not I will never know. It was surreal how entitled and proud she felt about denying me from purchasing a product from Costco. Someone please sit her down and politely tell her to calm down and let the people buy their products.

One star for food court, the other Costco let you pay at pick up window, not this one. The workers look pretty miserable at the food court, but all the other Costco locations have happy employees. Also, the line at lunch time gets completely out of hand, only ever seen 3 stations open during lunch time rush even though theres 4-5 windows capacity People in the parking drive very poorly (not Costcos fault technically). Nobody drives on the right hand side and people drive at ridiculous speeds through the lot. The gas station prices are pretty nice, so I have to give them a star for that. Return line processes pretty slow inside the store, but they seem to follow standard Costco return policy. I want to like this Costco location, but I cant get past the parking and the people. The Poway Costco that I came from has a car wash too. How do you even compete?

My mom, Dad and I come into Costco for the samples as well as what we need and Your always helpful and very sweet guys. I came in for a pair of work pants, one year ago and I found the last pair to be buried under the larger ones, but I always come back for the food. As for the food court outside, I have had polish hotdogs and they are fresh if you come at the right time. I give the an B rating. The only disappointment is that you dont have any fresh Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon and your employees need to know how to store fresh cold fish better, by putting it way back to the cold side. Complements to Mrs. Yee for her advice on how to store the avocados, helped a lot. We had our salad with it as it was freshly cold and it was stored. Thanks for adding a gas station too. We bought a vita mix and still use it.

Awesome Products and Service. I purchase most of my groceries here, and am impressed with the prime beef, organic chicken, and vast array of fresh produce. If a package of steaks is too large the staff are always willing to create a smaller pack. I also get my office supplies - mostly printer paper and binders. Bought a cell phone too some years ago. The only items not worth getting here are those that I wont use before they spoil. As others have said, the lunch concession outside serves great pizza and other fast foods, none of which are particularly healthful. But they all taste great and are offered at very reasonable prices.

I recently took a flat tire to the Costco Tire Center at Carmel Mountain for repair or replacement. Turns out that I not only had a tire in my sidewall, but Johnathon also found a screw in another tire! He found the tires that I needed in stock and when I told him that I was in a hurry, he took it upon himself to personally ensure that the job was done as quickly as possible. He even updated me on the progress each step along the way. I went to Costco expecting a great price and left very impressed with the customer service I recieved from Johnathan. Thanks!

Costco is my favorite store. I go the for gas, the prices are lower than other gas stations. There is usually a line. However the gas station opens at 5:30 am during the week, and 6 am on Saturday and Sunday. I always try to go early. I love Costcos return policy. The only thing I dislike is the fact Costco every 6 months or so they rearranges the store. It frustrates me when I want to just run in and pick up a couple of items, and they have been relocated to the other side of the store. Overall, I like their products.

People are SO RUDE at this store. The actual Costco employees are fantastic, but the sample vendors are 50/50 (either really nice or horrible), and the customers...wow...most will run you right over. My son is 10 and a lady actually pushed him out of her way (he was standing right next to my buggy). I know there isnt anything the store can do about the customers, but I feel bad for the employees for having to deal with some of these people. Giving the store itself a 5, but deducting 2 for the overall experience.

Great store, lots of products. They do have the Costco gas station here, the long long line isnt worth it to me. Parking is terrible, just about any time of day but late in the day or weekends is worse. Thankfully when picking up pizza I can pull up close to the food court and grab my pizza... they do not have a designated parking for pizza pick up. Great selection of organic and international foods are available here. Timing is everything to for parking and efficient shopping.

Parking and traffic is horrible since they added the gas station. Inside is almost as bad. Youll typically find yourself stuck behind someone who decided to stop in the middle of traffic in a main aisle just to get free food samples. Common sense would lead someone to move to the side or into an adjacent aisle, but thats not what youll find at this Costco.

Have called the store 5 times. Choose different departments but still got no answer, plus hung up twice. Once by system, second a lift and drop on. Someone did answer but stated they were not clocked in... Did take my name and number several hours ago to just ask about the cost of the Vita mix and if any were in stock..... TERRIBLE PHONE SYSTEM AND SERVICE.
