So Im a SERIOUS crafter, and I have been to this particular store on many different occasions and heres my take on the quality of their service. The employees most often do NOT smile at you, particularly when walking in the door and upon arriving to the cash registers. The employees dont know much about the products they sell, except for a select few ( Im talking the managers whove worked there longer than a month) so forget any product information you might want that you cant get off the label of an item. They make it hard for you to return stuff and then repurchase, the other day i wanted to EXCHANGE an item for something else in the store that was a higher price, but instead of applying the balance (from the returned item) they HAVE to return it, to your card instead of them just turning around and using it towards your new balance. Ive never had a store act like this, you already have my freaking money why cant you apply it to what i want to take home! (according to the General Manager of the store this is a company wide policy, yeah what a great idea....make it harder for your customers to shop, thatll motivate me to keep spending my hard earned money at your store...sureee) So you might want to think twice before you go in to this store or any hobby lobby (ive been a serious crafter for the last ten years and this is consistent behavior from them unfortunately, consistently BAD service), cuz if you need help...good luck, youre probably going to encounter people who dont want to help you, and make you feel like your a pain in the butt for asking where something is, or how something is supposed to be used, even though you buying stuff at their store pays their salary, they apparently arent even smart enough to understand that concept. I also called the corporate offices of this store to tell them about my experiences and they DONT CARE AT ALL (big suprise). I left a detailed complaint similar to what you see here and that was like 2 weeks ago, still i have had no contact from anyone at the corporate level. So Im using my consumer power, I will NEVER shop here again, and i hope more people who have similar experiences do the same. The only way to get them to change is to financially motivate them to make a change. Silence is acceptance...

The store is fine but their customer service is horrible! I asked one lady a question who was stocking on of the shelves in the front and she didnt even look at me, she just kept doing what she was doing and said "uh huh" to answer my question. Then when we went to the register the cashier didnt say a word to us till she was done ringing up our stuff. I paid, used my mobile coupon, and when I picked up my purse noticed that there was a card under it. The lady looked at me like I was trying to pull something. I got my phone out to use the coupon for it and she told me I couldnt use it even though my husband was with me and had already headed for the door, she said he would have to come back in and pay for it. This has never been an issue at the New Braunfels store. Needless to say I will shop anywhere but this location from now on.

Hobby Lobby is my favorite store hands down! They have awesome prices and products, and not to mention great sales ALL the time! The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is due to horrible customer service. Today I went in to purchase items for a baby reveal party. I found cute little colored clothes pins with little babies on them. Both of the male packages left were torn open at the top so I figured I would pick one of the clothes pins out to make sure they would fit in a little tin cup I found. While taking it out one of the workers heard the bag crinkling and came over and told me rudely not to open items, that customers will not buy opened items. I simply told her not only was this package already opened but so was the other one still hanging up. She just looked at the shelf and walked away. Very rude!

I agree their customer service skills need some practice. They need to not treat customers as if they are an inconvenience to be in the store. Is this the way you would want to be treated somewhere? I think they need some best practices on customer service and some kindness and a smile and thank you is the way you expect to be treated when you check out. I have been checked out in this store and never even been spoke to. Rude and senseless behavior. Train your employees better~especially those up front because that is the last impression you get of this store...

Hobby Lobby is a great store, except for this one. Large Picture frame was not ready on time, not done right (corners did not align and pic did not fit w/out a large bend), and damaged for the icing on the cake. Also, the staff (at least in the framing dept.) did not seem overly eager to make a customer happy. Go to a different location.

Average craft store. Sometimes you can find really cute home decor items. The staff that works in the fabric area is pretty helpful. I once needed to exchange a defective paint pen, and the girls at the front end were kinda rude about it. Steer clear of the bathrooms. They tend to be a little dirty.

Any arts and craft person would love this place. So much to choose from, and always a 40% discount on an item (tip: go multiple times and buy one item at a time to use the discount). The service however; could use an improvement. Rarely youd find an employee available to assist you.

Hard to find things at times but always someone friendly to ask. Large selection of holiday or seasonal supplies. Always a sale going on to make you think youre getting a deal but things tend to be pricier here then at competition, do have a bigger variety though.

I went here to gather a few items such as stickers and stencils because I was making my Mom a scrapbook for her Birthday. They have so many options I wound up spending over $100 for my items. Most of it was on sale. I was extremely satisfied with the end project.

They have a pretty good selection of fabrics at a very affordable price. However, they fall short with customer service. The sales floor does not seem to be adequately staffed and when you do find someone to help you they act like you just ruined their day.

Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite stores, but the customer service at the Selma store needs a little improvement. It seems my purchases (mainly from the sewing department) seem to be an inconvenience for the cashiers. They also do not like coupons.

Waited in line for over 10 minutes while the staff just laughed amongst themselves. Also needed help finding something and no one was around. Terrible experience. Will not return to the location at the forum

Good selection of products, too bad the service is terrible in this location. Unfortunately this seems to be an ongoing issue that isnt even being considered, let alone taken care of by management.
