DO NOT BUY THE ZILLA KITS FOR REPTILES THEY SALE, THEY WILL HARM YOUR PET! I am giving petco a one star mainly for their lack of knowledge about reptiles. So I made the mistake of falling in love with a bearded dragon they had. I knew absolutely nothing about them so I asked the staff how they were as pets and what equipment I needed. He then said they were fairly easy and that they sold a kit that had everything I needed and was cheaper than if I had bought the stuff separate. This kit was a 20 gallon zilla deluxe. So I took my dragon home and set up the kit. It came with a dial stick on thermometer, colored heat bulb, coiled uvb bulb, a red night time bulb, some pellet substrate, and a food and water dish. Long story short 3 days later my little guy passed. I blamed my self over and over until I did tons of research and spoke with reputable reptile breeders who had years of experience with bearded dragons. Turns out my first mistake was not knowing the warning signs of illness before purchasing a dragon. The signs are mouth breathing, lack of apetite, and jerky movement. My petco dragon had all these and he most likely had a respiratory infection and metabolic bone disease when I got him which he probably developed from lack of proper equipment at Petco. My second mistake was taking the Petco rep advice and buying the zilla kit. The only thing worthy of this kit is probably the tank. The rest of is just down right dangerous for a bearded dragon, specially one that came sick from the pet store. The dial thermometer has been proven to be off by as much as 40 degrees! Plus its a stick on type. This will give you the temp on the glass as oposed to the basking spot. The other thing is the bulbs, coil uvb bulbs have been linked to causing eye damage to dragons and provide very little uvb which they need for bone development. The basking bulbs is also a colored bulb which is bad for them. Any nightmare bulb is bad for bearded dragons as even the small amount of light interrupts their sleep. Then theres the substrate which can cause impactions. Most bearded dragons that are unfortunate to end up in these kits either are cooked alive due to the nad thermometer or develop illnesses due to poor equipment. So you spend 170 dollars for a kit that you have to end up throwing away most of its contents except a 20 dollar tank which youll end up having to toss anyway when he out grows it. After learning my lesson and doing all my research I put together a kit of my own with the proper equipment. $40 gallon tank which is twice the size and he can grow into. Reptisun uvb florescent tube and a basking lamp for around $60. Repti carpet for about $10 and the most important part, the thermometers. Two zoomed digital thermometers with probe, echo was $10. So when all was said and done I had spent significantly less for superior equipment that will not hurt my pet. Sadly these Zilla kits are a money maker for Petco because they are enticing to impulse buyers who had not done their research. So I ask that you not only not buy it but tell Petco to stop selling them and safe a bearded dragon from ending up in one.

I visit this location a weekly bases to buy things for my two animals. I have a cat & dog that are like my children and consistently keep me busy buying them things from treats to clothes. There is nothing more that I hate in the world then bad customer service, being a manager myself in retail I make sure my associates know that CS is the first and for most the most important thing when it come to being front facing customers. In the past two months I have seriously considering switching to petsmart due to the Customer Service I have received at this location, even though Petsmart is out of my way all the way in the Highlands but I never have a bad experience there unlike at this petco. I have returned two items since I have been coming to this store and every time I get stuck having to be helped by Mauricio and this kid has the up most worst attitude ever. I seriously think this kid needs to find another job that is not front facing with customers because he just has this sour puss look on his face 24/7! He makes it a big deal every time I have to return something, Im sorry that I have a puppy thats between S & XS sizes and Im a smart shopper and just buy both sizes and then just return the one that doesnt fit. There is a return policy in place for this kind of situation, I follow the return policy and dont take the tags off the merchandise and he always just acts like Im the worst person ever because Im returning something. He has been the one that has helped me both times on my past visits and is seriously super rude! I plan on calling corporate and filling a formal complaint! There is a girl there named Taylor that was very helpful on one of my other visits he should take lessons from her on how to treat customers. Maybe Ill just have to take my business elsewhere, to anyone that is moving to the area since it is growing rapidly Id advise you to take the extra time to visit the petsmart in the Highlands. This place is not worth the visit with all the bad attitudes!

great place to shop, store is bright and well organized, nothing is thrown around or messy. animals seem to be content and happy and staff was more than happy to let me see the animals out of their cages, every cage was clean enough that it did not warrant me to be grossed out. I recently got a bunny and now shop for items here because of the vast section of bunny items and food, there are alot of options and you do not feel pressured by staff here. Even got to sign up to be a petpal and the guy at the register had no issues signing me up! Always shop here for pet supplies, please do not shop at petsmart!

Very great staff. They are alwasy so polite and helpful. I took my dog through the classes 2 years ago with Stacy, not sure if shes still with them but she did a amazing job. Also my dog did have a accident once her because she was ill, the staff was very understanding and worried. They had no problem or complaint about cleaning it up and even asked how she was doing a few weeks when I returned. Love this friendly Petco!

I got my little Shih tzu groomed here by Chrystal and she was a delight to work with! We had little problems regarding our PetCo account, but she helped us out and gave my puppy a great cut! Definitely recommend her and this location. Edit: Weve gone here 3 times now and each time Chrystal has been the groomer. Shes super friendly and does an amazing job each time.

Went and had my dogs nails clipped and when picking up my dog I noticed they had done an awful job with them. His nails were butchered and we took him to Petsmart and had them fix them. Will not come back here even though were 2 mins away. Ill drive another 8 to go to Petsmart in the highlands.
