Bought a CX-9 - Enjoyable experience! The wife and I have bought many cars in several states over the years. I can, with much experience, state that the buying experience with Classic Mazda of Denton was the best by far. We went the internet approach to start the process and Tareq Wahed, Classic’s Mazda sales specialist, was calling before I was finished submitting my requests to the various dealerships. Now timing sometimes can simply be coincidence but if you don’t have a smooth functioning, effective process this type of luck doesn’t usually happen. In parallel to Tareq personally contacting me introductory emails were being sent containing some key info about a local rebate not mentioned elsewhere along with a YouTube video of Tareq meant to put a face to a name. These were followed, after my conversation with Tareq, with applicable offers on vehicles that might meet my needs. Now some of these were auto responses or focused templates meant to address our specific interests but the point is they all provided applicable, timely information. Due to our scheduling conflicts we chose a very rainy day to go take test drives at Classic Mazda. We left a message for Tareq with a couple of VIN’s of cars we were interested in and told him the time we would be arriving. When we got to the dealership we were greeted immediately and escorted to Tareq who had our test drive cars waiting for us. We were unsure as to what specific model we would buy, if any, and ended up taking 6 test drives to help us decide. Tareq was helpful and assured us we could take as many as we desired and he would provide any car we needed to drive. There was never a sign of any pressure for us to get on with it and decide. Only smiles, retrieving cars, and telling us about features, all while the rain came down. When we had finally decided to buy the Grand Touring CX-9 the price negotiations were straight forward and all discounts and rebates were included in the initial offer. We had a few final points that adjusted the price with concurrence by Classic management and we came to an agreement. I can say that the level of Mazda’s rebates and Classic’s local discounts were very aggressive compared to other dealerships we had received offers from and it is clear Classic wants your business. Due to this aggressive discounting on Classic’s part there were no contentious moments. Even our visit to the Business Manager was pleasant. And I have had visits with business/finance managers that have essentially blown the deal. Don Cooper presented all of the different options and presented his belief in the appropriateness of each of his products and we discussed our needs. This is where tensions can also escalate and it simply was not the case. We told Don what add-ons we would or would not purchase, he reemphasized his belief in the need for each, and then we moved on to finalize the contract of sale with what we wanted. The entire buying process at Classic Mazda of Denton, from initial internet contact to dealership visit and test drives to negotiations and finalization was a pleasant, and somewhat enjoyable, experience. Tareq and the other members of the sales staff were pleasant, helpful and cooperative. The fellow who did the preparation for delivery did an outstanding job and also had the smiling, helpful demeanor, found at Classic, when he delivered our new CX-9’s Advanced Key to us at Tareq’s desk. We will strongly recommend Classic Mazda of Denton to anyone who will listen. I am seriously considering going to Classic of Denton to have the maintenance servicing performed even though we live 32 miles away from the dealership. I figure if the sales department is this good the service department might also be, other reviews seem to support this idea, and it might be to my benefit to try them. Of course, since this vehicle is my wife’s, taking the CX-9 to Denton might be my only chance to drive it.

May I begin by saying that this was the most stellar purchasing experience of my life! My husband and I recently moved to the DFW metro area from Southern California. From the beginning, we were hesitant to purchase a new car in Texas because of a bad previous experience. We abided by the stereotype that car dealerships are run by shady opportunists looking to screw people into a deal they will ultimately regret. Classic Mazda of Denton shattered our ill-conceived expectations from the start. Before even visiting the dealership, we completed a credit application on the dealership website. Minutes later, we received a phone call from the dealerships Internet Specialist, a personable and attentive gentleman named Tareq. He explained that our credit application had been received and offered to guide us through the car-buying experience. Later that day, my husband and I met Tareq at the dealership. Keeping in mind the model and color preference we had discussed over the phone, Tareq had pulled a silver 2016 Mazda CX-5 and had it waiting at the door. After test-driving the car and triple checking that it met all of our specifications, Tareq handed us over to the Business Manager, Zane. Zane spent the better part of an hour advocating on our behalf with Chases Auto Loan division over the phone. Let it be known that my husband and I are not necessarily the most ideal car-buyers. We are both very young with good but not excellent credit, having only financed one other car before. We expected to be turned away from our dream car when the bank discovered our age. Yet Zane was determined to see us through. His efforts got us into a fantastic car at a very reasonable APR. After stamping the golden seal on all the paperwork, Tareq took us back into his care. He gave us a tour of the dealerships service facilities so that we would be sure where to come for future servicing and finally delivered our beautiful Mazda. Attentive to the end, Tareq went so far as to explain all of the dash controls and synced both of our phones to the cars Bluetooth system before sending us on our way. Ultimately, we left certain that every possible question and concern had been answered. We got the car of our dreams in a timely manner, feeling that we had been given the utmost respect and care as customers. Classic Mazda of Denton is the sort of rare place where customer satisfaction is paramount above all else. Tareq and Zane were exemplary models of what everyone in the car-selling industry should be: friendly, attentive, and, above all, determined to satisfy. My husband and I have no doubt that Classic Mazda will be our first and only choice for purchasing cars in the future. Even more, we would recommend it to family, friends, or strangers as the best place to buy a car anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Thank you, Tareq and Zane, for making our experience unforgettable!

UPDATE 2017-06-16: I finally got a refund check in the mail today. This dealer did make a mistake but did respond and correct it so Im upping the rating to 4 stars. However, I was very disappointed with the Mazda folks (or whoever Mazda uses for managing the VSC contracts) who ignored my 3 faxed requests to update me on its status (this wasnt this particular dealer). Im also disappointed that Mazda "drags their heals" on these refund requests... they should process these and issue refunds much quicker than they do if they want to keep their customers happy and coming back. UPDATE 2017-06-10: Still nothing but Rick Wick did quickly contact me after my review and said he would get it taken care of... however, no refund yet and Mazda (not the dealer) ignored both my requests to contact me with a confirmation of the cancellation. I will be faxing a 3rd request to them next week and maybe Mazda will give me the honor of responding to my 3rd request after ignoring the first 2. UPDATE 2017-05-17: I ended up selling the Mazda 6 due to hail damage and my wife wanting an SUV and I cancelled the extended warranty I bought (to get a pro-rated refund) but they screwed up the cancellation and didnt even call me about it. Now I am have to go through extra hassle and do extra paperwork to rectify it. Lowering my rating to 3 stars and might go lower. Original review: Just bought a brand new white 2016 Mazda 6 from Classic Mazda the other day and was very pleased with the service and feel that I got a good/fair deal as well. I just got the windows tinted today using their service department and was very pleased with that service as well (though they could provide some liquid creamers for the coffee!). I purchased with Daniel Schmitt and Stacey Pillow. Oh, and Im impressed with the fuel economy as well.
