Major fail by Car Toys. Took it to this location because they did excellent work 4 years ago on my dads car. Guess times have changed. I purchased and set up an installation for a receiver and 4 speakers. I live an hour away - in downtown- but they dont do Saturday installations, which would be the only time I could get it done in the morning. The compromise was that the earliest I could get it to the shop was 4pm on Friday. The desk guy and installer -- I think his name was Austin -- said that would be fine. They told me it would be done by COB because the installation should take about "2 to 2 and half hours." A conflict came up, and I called to switch the installation to Thursday at the same time. The person I spoke with said that would be fine. I arrived on Thursday at 3:45, and they told that there is no way to install the stereo and speakers on Thursday. I would have to leave it until Friday at noon or reschedule. Rescheduling would be another 2 hour roundtrip drive. Apparently, whoever I spoke with did not "tell the two important people" -- the installer and the guy at the desk -- and they "never got the message." That is not my problem. I have no idea how communication works in their store. Apparently, no other installer than Austin could install my equipment because I got a "significant hookup" on the installation. I had no idea that I got a hookup or how much it even was. How was I supposed to know that the hookup means only one person can install the equipment? How was I supposed that if I am switching times, then I need to confirm if the installer is going to be available? Apparently, they never do installations after 1 pm because of this "problem." Dont know how to respond to that one -- I was standing right in front of Austin and the other employee when I said I could get it to the shop by 4pm and they said it would be fine. No one told me about this nothing-past-1pm policy. So I asked if the installer was willing to stay later or come earlier in the morning. No effort to compromise on staying later. When I asked about "earlier in the morning" I got a "how early?" response. "I dont know," I said, "early enough that I can get my car more like 10 am to 11 am, instead of noon." "No way, an installation like that takes 3 hours or so" was the response. Great, yet another piece of misinformation from these guys. I never got an apology. I never got an offer to discount it further if I came back. In fact, they almost seemed happy I was canceling the whole thing. To recap, they told me this would take 2 to 2.5 hours, that I could drop it off at 4 and be ready by close, and that I could switch the date to one day earlier. Turns out, it never takes shorter than 3 hours, no installations are ever done past 1 pm, and you have to "clear" any changes with your installers schedule. Being that none of these were mistakes attributable to me, no acknowledgement was made that these were their mistakes, not mine, I left as a furious customer who just wasted 2, 2 hour roundtrips to walk away with nothing. Thanks Car Toys.

I do not recommend this place to anybody! They will lie and steal your money. Had my system installed here for my truck. After some time pass the subwoofer box started to vibrate on the bottom. This has happened twice. First time I took the subwoofer box in they said it was a simple fix. The problem was (this time around) when they built the box they miss screwed in a few spots. They fixed and had no issues. Im ok with human error, it happenes. A little time passed and the box started doing the same thing again. So... Second time I took my subwoofer box in for the same issue they said i have a water leak in my truck and that the box got water damaged and that they will need to rebuild me a new box. I asked where the leak was coming from and they said they will try to find out. Of course as i suspected they couldnt find a water leak anywhere. Anyhow i went ahead and went with a "new box" that they "built". Got the "new box" sprayed with bed liner to help prevent and future water damage (which come to find out I do not have any water leaks in my truck). Got home check out the new box and I come to find it is The Same Damn Box that they just fixed and sprayed with bed liner. I know this bc my box had a distinctive spot on the top right corner where my seat (my back seats have a hard plasctic on the back) had rubbed it smoothed. And supposedly this "new box" they "built" has it too, weird! Im ok with the human error that was made the first time, but I do appreciate them stealing my money and being lied to. I will not be back to this store. POS place! I even went to Toyota and told them the story and had them check for a water leak and they said everything looks good and there are "No signs of a water leak". Not even on my carpet. So if the bottom of my box had water damage then my carpet in my truck where my box seats should too!

Supremely awful in every way imaginable! I took my car to have an alarm system added with electronic locks and trunk release. I had this done right before I moved so and a few months after installation the alarm would set itself off constantly around every half hour or so so much that my apt complex came to tell me I needed to get it fixed. So I drove the three hours back to this location to have them fix it. I dropped it off and they said they would call and waited for a call that never happened, I called them back after 3 days and asked if they were done yet, they said they looked at it the first day and couldnt find anything wrong and just lowered the sensitivity all the way. Why on earth would they not call and just waste my time!? I went back home but there was absolutely no difference. I drove back again and they claimed to do something else that also did absolutely nothing and once again did not bother ever calling me to tell me it was done. I drove back a third time and they blamed my non OEM back lights claiming they caused interference. After about a year the alarm stopped working completely and I was slightly relieved. However after about another 6 months the auto locks stopped working as well as the trunk. Worst of all now the trunk wont open at all since it was electronic to begin with. It has no key to open it either so I can not get in at all. Not only am I out $500 but now have to pay to get it fixed! I took it to a normal mechanic since clearly Car Toys has no idea what they are doing however they said they do not specialize in that and I would need to take it back to Car Toys or an equivalent.
