Mixed results at this place. If you ever need something done to a bike the first question theyll ask is "did you buy the bike here?" The old guy with the glasses never misses a chance to ask this question. The point of it seems to be that they have less desire to work on something if you didnt buy it through them. This takes me to my first experience with them…trying to buy a bike. I went in to buy a bike one day…I was not going to leave without one. I got to talking with a sales guy and about 30 seconds into our discussion a lady walks in the front door and yells over to him about a box of power bars she was looking for. No worries…this will only take a second. Nope. He kept up an across-the-store conversation with her about fore several minutes…totally ignoring me. He kept up the conversation about the power bars until I walked out. He let a $700 sale walk out the door so he could talk about a $20 box of power bars. Maybe he was trying to date her daughter…I dunno…but this was my first "customer service" experience with them. So every time they ask me "did you buy the bike here?" I shove this story back in their face. They are always surprised that their tactic backfires on them. Fast forward a bit. I went in to buy some nutrition/elecrolyte stuff. A sales person recommended some big tablets for electrolyte replacement. I asked "are these the ones you put in your water to dissolve?" He said no you just eat them. I said "are you sure? These things are huge." He very confidently assured me that you eat them as you ride. I was incredulous but left with them and the rest of my stuff. When I got home I looked at the directions and sure enough…you are not supposed to eat these…they are only to be dissolved in water. Score a zero for product knowledge. Fast forward some more. I wanted to buy a bike trainer so I could work out on the bike in my garage. I needed one that would fit a 29 inch wheel. After a talk with the guys at the shop (2 of them) they assured me this product would fit. I cautioned them that Ive done a ton of research and they need to double check that this will fit a 29 inch wheel…again they assure me. I get it home…you guessed it…not gonna fit…not even close. So I go back to the shop and tell them. Both guys come over and start looking at it to make sure Im not doing something wrong…which I wasnt…so they took it back. While I was waiting, one of the guys threw the other guy under the bus by whispering to me "I only said it would fit because HE said it would. HE looked it up not me…I thought he knew what he was doing." I wasnt mad about the deal…I just wanted a product that would work…but the backstabbing your buddy was a pretty low blow. All they had to do was be professional and take the thing back with a promise to check for one that would work. It hasnt all been bad…but it depends on who you get. And you wont know who is good and whos not until youve been through a few problems. Theres a shorter dude with a bunch of tattoos that kind of looks like the lead singer for Green Day…that guy is great. Ive dealt with him several times at several bike shops and he just knows his stuff…he knows bikes, he knows business, and he knows customer service. Beware of everyone else.

Owner is a Jerk. The old man in there who is either owner or co-owner is just terrible to deal with. I purchased a $2300 specialized mountain bike from them a few years back and dealt with Matt - he is awsome to deal with - I wished he worked somewhere else. Today after researching for about a week road bikes for my wife we went to the Germantown store. We left with abot a $1300 Trek (more than we had decided to spend but she loved the look of the bike). We had also purchased a pair of Tifosi glaess for $60. On the way home my wife noticed both sides of the smokey lenses were scratched. We went back to exchange it and there was a mix up with the old guy and in the process he tells us he cant deal with us, tells us he is going to throw away the glasses, and then when my wife says I dont understand" he actually says to her - "I know" in an insulting way. All he had to do was to take some leses off a pair of glasses and swap them to another pair. He got confused, angry, and insulting during the process. Nice thing to do to a client that had spent almost $4,000 in your store over a set over a set of lenses he just sold me.

AVOID! No customer service. I spent the better part of a month researching bikes and was fully prepared to spend a lot of money at the Peddler in Germantown today for a Trek road bike. Unfortunately, they did not seem too interested to take my money. I knew it was a bad sign when I was the only customer in there. I walked into the store and walked around for a good five minutes looking at their bikes and passing the elderly man at the counter several times. Not once did he pry his head away from the computer monitor to say hi or to ask if I needed help with something. If sales people cannot take the time to ask if I want to buy something, I see no reason to spend money at their store. Ignoring a potential customer is the height of rudeness and unforgivable. I walked right out and decided to take my business elsewhere.

Highly recommend. Visited Memphis from Nashville and brought my mountain bike to ride, but forgot front wheel. Called the shop to ask if they might possibly have a used wheel/tire/rotor I could buy. After explaining my predicament, Colby said dont worry about buying one - Ill let you borrow a wheel while youre here. I drove over to the store and Colby had a high-end wheel, tire and rotor ready to go for me to borrow for the week with no questions asked except my name and phone number! I talked to a couple of other guys in the store, and they were great, too. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this shop.

I have been coming here for 6 years and am always happy with the quality of work that they do. Their employees are always courteous and I do not understand the negative reviews. In fact, when I dropped off a bike for service they worked extra hard to get it done before the end of the weekend. Also, on one occasion, they adjusted my derailler for free. I dont have a feel for whether their rates are competitive but I bet they are. At any rate, they do way better work than I could do and youre supporting a local business. I would go here if I had to buy a new bike - youll get properly fitted.
