I just wanted to give everyone a little insight about cycle specialties, located in Taylors, Sc on Wade Hampton Boulevard. I bought a new 2012 GSXR1000 a few weeks ago and was looking to purchase a service manual. On Saturday February 18th I called cycle specialties and asked about getting some torque specs for the bolts on my bike so I could change the tires. An older gentleman answered the phone and told me he could give me all the specs if I came to the shop. And also told me he would quote me a price on an OEM Service manual. I drove to the shop and asked an older man in the shop for some help. He was very nice, and helpful. We then realized the service manual I needed was only available online. Jay Alexander then “Helped” me. The shop was not the least bit busy, but he was extremely rude. I asked him for the first torque specs on the front axle nut, he looked it up and gave me the wrong specs. He had let me behind the counter to look with him. I mentioned that those were not the specs I needed and then told me that “the program to find this info costs 100,000 dollars”. I just asked him for the other specs hoping I could get the info to work on my new bike. He looked for a few minutes, turned to me and said “Look man, I can’t sit here and shut down the entire store just to help you out. I run this place and I do not have time to deal with stuff like this.” I replied “I had called a few minutes before I drove up here and asked if I could get some torque specs, the man told me I could stop by and he would be happy to help me out. There is no reason for you to act like this towards me, if you are having trouble reading the manual just say so.” He replied “I can’t read the manual and you can hit the f$%#*ng door”. So I left. I walked back in and asked the man his name he said “Its Jay Alexander, do I need to spell it out for you a$$h@l@? You have 10 seconds to hit the f*%#*ng door.” I thought this was way out of line for a service manager, or anyone in the service industry. I was very patient the entire time, and I did not get ill about what was going on until he started cussing at me. This shop is the closest Suzuki shop to my residence, so I figured I would order my needed parts through Cycle Specialties. But I really can’t do business through Cycle Specialties if I’m going to be treated like this. I informed owner of what happened through e-mail and he did not seem concerned at all. I also talked to one of the owners relatives that I know and he said “He does that stuff all the time, it’s definitely not out of the ordinary”. I also have talked to one riding friend of mine that got his tires changed there and the bike came back missing a spacer in the rear swingarm. So I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and I would appreciate it I everyone could spread the good word to every forum, and every friend. Thanks!

The service was very terrible and slow! The employees were arguing with each other as well as other customers. I waited at the checkout counter to buy a helmet for about ten minutes before any employee helped me. One employee was behind the counter I was waiting at and did nothing except look at me a few times without saying a word. The other employee that got the helmet for me also went behind the same counter and did nothing. For the last 6 or 7 minutes I was there, I was the only customer. That did not change the terrible service....or lack of I should say. I then spoke up and said "Is somebody going to sell me this helmet, or should I just walk out with it?" I still had no acknowledgment. Just before I was about to leave the helmet on the counter and walk out, one of the employees said "Can I help you with something?" At this point, I was already passed being mad, so I said nothing. I just laughed and handed him money for the helmet. If simply buying a helmet is this difficult, I cannot begin to imagine trying to purchase a motorcycle or get service done on a motorcycle. I will never return to this business, and would recommend anyone reading this review not to as well! -Austin

I took my bike in to have a tire mounted & balanced. When I got the bike back there were no weights on the wheel. (I REMOVED ALL WEIGHTS BEFORE IT WAS TAKEN IN FOR AN INSTALL) I questioned this to the service rep and he called the mechanic that installed the tire. He told me that when the yellow dot on the tire is aligned with the valve stem the tire is automatically balanced. He said this is how he has been installing tires for the past 24 years. I know for a fact that aligning the dot does not balance the tire. This was the second tire I had installed at this place of business. The first tire did not have weights on it and I did not catch it until a couple months after the install so when I went in to have the second tire installed I was ready to question the mechanic when the job was done. I WILL NEVER HAVE THIS BUSINESS TOUCH MY BIKE AGAIN. IF YOU CAN NOT TRUST SERVICE, YOU CAN NOT TRUST SALES.

Look it up before you buy. When I went in I had to ask to be helped and the kid helping looked to be 17. I asked if they would come off some of the price on ninja. The kid said no, and then I told them I was trading and he went and grabbed an older gentleman whom didnt even acknowledge me. He looked at the bike and then the kid went away. I was like what is going on? I found the kid and asked if what they came up with and he said 6500 plus taxes. I said 6500 out the door he said no. They told me they took 2000 off already I looked the bike up on KBB and they had it 500 over what the book said. I showed the kid and he told me "Oh well we will sell it for that". I said not to me you wont and he still would not come off the price. If you want to be ripped off please go to this store. They missed out on a sell over 400 dollars.

If I could give 0 stars I would....Sent me home on a bike that had a leaking fuel tank.. They could have at least told me that . Could have caught fire on the way home. Was told they would get my tag for me well, ok great.I wait 3 weeks and call but no tag. Call 3 more times over the next 2 weeks and they are just outright rude to me...I am just asking if my tag is there> Do they treat all customers this way? When I call to ask for my tag today she was very rude and short once again, man they were very friendly when they was taking my $$$$ for the bike!! She then smarts off to me asking me what the big hurry was on getting my tag...Do they smart off to all customers? Also very rude just walking into the place....not friendly at all
