I go to this fabric store all the time, mostly because it is so close by and they often have sales on great fabric! My biggest complaint is the poor customer service and layout of the store. God help you if you want to purchase buttons or ribbons or some hardware for your machine because they keep it behind the counters so there is no way you can browse or see what you want. They are rarely able to help you select them yourself and if they do, you feel rushed because the store is so crowded. I hate feeling like the bad guy because I need some buttons or notions for my project. They need to change the layout or hire more employees to assist people. I try my best to figure out when their peak hours are so I can avoid them and go in when its not busy.

Gaffneys Fabrics is a truly wonderful store. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful--they know frequent cuztomers by name and are equally gracious to new customers. The owners are there frequently. Two dress makers are also on premises and do anderer land office business. The fabrics selection is broad. However, while they do have a good selection of linen, in general they do not carry higher end natural fabrics such as silk, silk satin, or velvet. But if you ask a staff member, or Mr. or Mrs. Gaffney, they will check and often are able to dig up a beautiful remnant. Be sure to check out the basement and the second floor! I love this store!!!

Gaffneys is one of the few inexpensive fabric stores in Philly. Waaay more affordable than those on fabric row.. They are open everyday and carry a nice amount of what I need.Their sales last for weeks and I most of the time found what I was looking for.. THere are two levels so be sure to check out the downstairs. Plus, they have about 4 cutting tables for when Its really crowded.

Been shopping here for years... They have an amazing selection of fabrics and notions. So great to support a family owned business in my community. Its definitely worth the trip... And Ive never had a customer service issue. Its not the fancy fabric store downtown, but more like a giant crazy warehouse of treasures you will want to explore again and again!

Fantastic selection, little costumer service. But thats okay with the selection of stuff you find, and new stuff comes in very regularly! This is the best discount fabric store in the city. But dont try to use the rest room! It is one of the scariest experiences ever, you feel like youre about to be shanked. But its almost worth it for the fabric!

Good morning, Im a student attending the Art institute of PHILADELPHIA, from another city where limited selection of fabric store. This store fits my needs, yes the bathroom could be challenging. However the selection and prices outweigh the restroom, come spend a day take your time make it enjoyable . The fabric prices are amazing. Ok

I LOVE this store. Its EXTREMELY affordable. if you cant afford Gaffneys then you wont be able to afford anything. The variety of patterns, fabrics and sewing accessories are awesome. I recommend this store to all. I am teaching myself how to sew and this store has helped in every way possible w that venture.

For my first visit, it was okay. Some of the employees are willing to help you; some push you off to someone else. Needs to be more organized and managed. But the fabric is wonderful with amazing prices... This place saved me $75 on a project!

I just did a random search on Google and found this place and the reviews. I really loved it and found a fabric that EXACTLY met my needs and it was $1.50/yard (seriously!). They were friendly and helpful and I was totally satisfied.

Great prices for beautiful fabric and other sewing material. The staff was friendly and eager to help. One thing, we asked to use a measuring tape and we told we had to buy one. That rubbed us the wrong way.
