I was introduced to the Hayes family several years ago when I went looking for my first sewing machine. I was surprised that I wasnt taken to the most expensive models first. I was shown a model that was mid-range that happened to be within my budget. I asked if I would have to trade-up if it turned out I became very enthusiastic about sewing. I was quite happy to hear that the model I was shown could make everything that was hanging in the store! I have also taken classes at Hayes and other places as well. No one is better at teaching than the Hayes staff! They are patient and they know how to break the tasks down. I have been to other shops where they give beginning sewers 4 blocks of a quilt to sew at home with very little instruction every week. At Hayes, you always get plenty of instruction and there is always someone to help you in the kindest manner! Dont bother going anywhere else! Jeanette H.

This is the only place I go for sewing materials, machines and advice. I have been a customer for years and purchased at least 7 machines from them. Service is great and so are the classes. My only complaint is that despite spending well over $20,000 on sewing machines and sergers in the last few years and purchasing fabric almost weekly, they do not recognize me as a repeat customer or even know my name. I know that sounds petty, but really, its important. When one offers a local merchant repeat business, its important to have a relationship. They know my name at Stoneybrook, down the road. I bought a machine there about ten years ago, and I think the most expensive thing Ive purchased there since is thread.

I am a custom tailor in West Chester, Pa. Over the last thirty years I have purchased a dozen vintage Singer Touch & Sew machine from Mr Hayes. I like the old Touch & Sew machines because they are simple to use. Time is money so stopping to thread bobbins is a time waster for me. The Touch & Sew threads the bobbin right down in its nest below the needle. The machine itself is also easy for me to maintain with a blast in the bobbin nest now and then to get rid of loose pieces of thread. "Hats off to Trevor Hayes!" He has helped keep my business humming for over 30 years. Jean Swisher, Fabric-Flair Tailoring, West Chester, Pa.

Wonderful shop and people there! I had a sewing emergency and needed to finish something before I could get my machine repaired. They were so nice as to let me use a machine in the store the day I dropped off my machine for repair so that I could finish a project. You can tell that they actually care about the customers and take pride in everything they sell and offer in the store. Sewing machine repair was quick, and I am already signed up to take a class here because I had such a great experience with the service. Highly recommended!

Great little quilt shop. The Hayes family runs the shop; every family member is very friendly and knowledgeable. My mother bought a sewing machine from here and they offered free classes on how to use it, which I thought was very nice! A nice selection of fabrics as well as sewing machines, new and used, and gadgets.

This is the only place I could find the advice I needed to finish a quilt I was making, They are the most caring helpful people and they can be counted on for just the right advice. They also repaired my machine quickly. My next step is to buy a new quilting machine...Mrs. Georgianna Shrier

Have been dealing with the Hayes family for 20 years. Mr. Hayes is charming and does all his own repairs. The girls are amazing, they sew, they teach and they can all repair. They are happy to answer questions in person or by phone.
