Ive been going to this Walmart for some years. Yesterday at the self checkout, the machine was giving lots of trouble to scan and recognize items. We kept asking the cashier for help and she did patiently help us with it . Mind you there were three more self checkout registers appeared to be defective having similar issues as well. At the end of scanning the last item my Mom went to get some items for our cats and one item we scanned was a tick repellent collar and it was overpriced, I asked cashier to remove it, she did and took it with her. I continued to ring up the rest of my items and my card wasnt recognized even though funds were on it and kept declining. Very weird because I had funds on both cards being used for purchases. I looked for the nice cashier and noticed multiple Walmart security pop up in the area not understanding why.. The manager a stumpy woman with a fake smile approached and offered to help. What was the problem we asked? The Stumpy, over zealous sarcastic manager with stained buck teeth basically went out of her way and pretended to personally " assist us ". My cards kept being declined when I swiped and Stumpy offered to swipe same issue?? My Mom was annoyed and said theres money on both cards to which Stumpy firmly insisted there wasnt. My Mom took her phone called the bank and was told yes we have funds. Stumpy offered to have us check out at the regular cashiers register with a guy she called Antonio where she over enthusiastically dumped all of our previously scanned groceries out of the bags onto the counter and went through them one by one. Fake smiling all along telling us she dont know what happened to our card to be declined but well straighten it out. She went over the items multiple times and everything was rang by Antonio with no problem unlike self checkout with no card decline flag. Why.. what was really the issue? Apparently she was searching for something.. all along, the overpriced cat tick collar that she NEVER found, sarcastically smiling as she was saying we were a red flag, because during mid purchase my Mom went to pick up along with some other items for our cats with groceries still in the cart. My Mom told Stumpy that we werent thieves and theres been multiple occasions that weve left Walmart and other stores where things didnt add up or ring up and weve returned them to the shock of managers and cashiers no matter how small the item. She was upset because she loudly got checked and kept sarcastically smiling and loudly saying thank you have a good day. BIG turn off!!!! I know people steal but her over zealous behavior to jam the machine on the pretense to find something that was never stolen DISGUSTING!

I moved to the area over the summer, since then I have been to Mount Pocono Walmart in PA for everything. The employees are rude, they dont acknowledge you during checkout or when squeezing by in aisles. Some are friendly, but I have experienced enough terrible customer service to give the whole store a bad name. I quit going to the deli months ago, Im rarely acknowledged and when I do get lucky enough to get help, they are clearly upset with assisting me with my order, or they question angrily why I want my meat sliced so thin. The place is always trashed, items off the shelf and all over the floor. I have put away many things in fear of someone tripping over them. One time, and employee was stocking shelves by me, she dropped a jar of olives right next to my feet, but she never acknowledged me, or that I was surrounded by glass she did not bother to warn anyone or tell anyone to watch their step. nothing. Today I was shopping when a manager shouted across the aisle at us because the person with me was vaping. Where Im from this is acceptable, but if vaping is not acceptable I understand that. But the manager continued to shout down the aisle saying he could not vape. By then other customers heard and started to chime in before we even knew what was going on, who was shouting and what about. He then continued to shout about second hand smoke and told us that we are privileged to even be able to come there. All this manager needed to do was come and talk to us, ask us face to face not to vape. Things could have gone much smoother. But instead this MANAGER yelled down the aisle at us and told us how privileged we were while others chimed in. I felt we were being "ganged up" on before we could even respond. Vaping is not my problem. The immaturity and unprofessional ways of this manager and how he approached us angers me. I have had enough bad experiences here, but today that manager was the final straw. After that we left our cart and went across the street to another grocery store, where we will continue to go from now on. I am truly disgusted with this establishment.

Wife went shopping here, paid cash for a variety of merchandise, came home exhausted after hours of shopping all over town for the holidays and realized that at least one bag of items was missing from Walmart stop in Mt Pocono. We knew a few of the specific items that were in the bag right off hand, but since we couldnt find the specific receipt, we couldnt identify for sure everything that was missing. We called the store anyway hoping they had set the bag aside, and when trying to describe what was lost the store associate was rude questioning my wife as to why she didnt know exactly what items were in the bag, why she didnt hang on to the receipt, etc, etc. Turns out this person had the bag of items right there in front of them, we identified several items, and instead of being helpful and saying "did you also shop for x, y, or z?" and helping us identify the bag, or even a polite "sorry without a receipt we cant replace the items" she instead berated my wife needlessly on the phone about not being able to remember every single item that was in a bag she never had her hands on, why she didnt remember what register she was at, etc. Sorry but thats not customer service. Its the holiday season, people are doing a lot of shopping, you cant expect the customer to know exactly what your employee loaded into a bag she never held! In all likelihood, the cashier forgot to spin it toward my wife for collection. Now were out probably $25 or so of merchandise, but more importantly, were not shopping here anymore. She could have said they couldnt help and kept it at that, but berating my wifes memory is off base. Sorry, but your job is to provide SERVICE not criticism.

I am an over the road truck driver and come to Tobyhanna/ Mt. Pocono area fairly regularly to deliver to the Walmart DC in Tobyhanna. Until tonight (06/19/15) there has never been a problem with parking my semi at this store to wait out the night and then leave the following morning. After driving all day from Greensboro, NC with a P&G product load to deliver at the DC in Tobyhanna and also purchasing approximately $70.00 in groceries from this store, upon my return to my truck, I was told that no overnight parking was allowed because of some Pocono Borough law but it would be OK to park across the street at the Lowes or the Kmart parking lots. I understand that there are those drivers out there that show no regard or respect for where they are and will throw their trash and junk in the parking lot, but I know the majority of us do all we can to leave the area where we park litter free so that we can continue to have someplace to park. I guess this store has decided that we drivers are an unwanted element in their parking lot. That is their right to decide that and Im sure that what little purchasing that myself and other drivers did at this store wont be missed. After returning my groceries to this store and getting my money back, I will hold off on shopping here till I can get down to some other store before buying what I need out here on the road. Good enough to shop and deliver there, but too low on the Walmart social scale to get a little rest after a long day of work. Sure am glad this store is not my normal Walmart experience. 1 star because system doesn’t allow zero.
