I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I wasted $10,000 with these guys, dont make the same mistake as me. I made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle here. Salesman Josh Hamblin sold me a 2001 VW Golf TDI automatic after it took him three weeks to get back into the condition it had been advertised as, (working heated seats), replacing the broken antenna, and fixing the headlights (they were incredibly hazy/fogged), and repairing the improperly adjusted drivers side door locks. During that time instead of doing what it takes and getting it done behind the scenes I was pestered with repeated phone calls, texts, and emails of him trying to cheap out/short cut getting the fix done right. He attempted to put in a used heated seat, but it was the wrong one, then another used heated seat fit but it had cigarette burns in it, then finally trying to get me to buy off on just putting in aftermarket heated seats (like you can buy at a car parts accessory shop) before finally having the seat fixed. During this time he was unprofessional and at times acted as if he hadnt sold a car before. At one point after I had given him a down payment with written agreement to complete the repairs needed to get the car into its advertised condition, he wanted to back out of the deal and return my down payment. I should have done it, it would have been much smarter than buying this lemon. I was only able to obtain vehicle history documents after repeated and persistent pressure that I wanted to see proof of the transmission repairs that were done to the vehicle, and written copies of the transferable warranty. Thankfully I did this because the car developed transmission issues the same night I purchased it. It then spent a week in the transmission shop having the solenoid valve body readjusted due to flare shifts and not shifting properly. I ended up having to pay $427 to have repaired the worn front control arm bushing, and having the egr gasket fixed that was installed backwards and troubleshooting overboost condition error codes. Immediately after the transmission warranty expired (within days) the transmission progressively started to have held shifts (not sihfting up to next gear), flare shifts (engine rpms jumping up 1000+ before shifting to the next gear), and miss shifting where it shifts up and down several times before shifting. These transmissions are $2300 to have replaced. With a warranty. To follow up Im still having numerous issues with the vehicle including malfunctioning drivers door lock, defective rear hatch pop lock, and extensive electrical problems with the rear hatch that have caused the alarm system and remote locks to stop functioning.

Greg Platt gets high marks for specializing in electric vehicles, especially the Nissan Leaf. In the future electric cars will become more mainstream and therefore the buying process will take on more of the stereotyped approach we have now of savvy buyers looking for killer deals with FSBOs (For Sale By Owner). But before that time comes here is what we do have: many Early Adopters, those first to get the Nissan Leaf, hedged their bets by leasing. So not only are there fewer used cars for sale in general because of the lower production numbers when introducing electric cars, most of those cars that are hitting the market were leased. So whenever you check craigslist or any car buying site dont be surprised that there are so few private sales. You could be waiting a long time for the perfect FSBO deal. For me, the best alternative was to go to Platt Auto. Greg Platt and his associates are all about electric vehicles. Greg also commits his business to providing fair deals. Because he specializes he has two distinct advantages. First, he knows what to look for and because his reputation is at stake he isnt even slightly tempted to try and, "perfume a pig". He buys electric vehicles that are going to make people happy (Note: Most of Gregs cars have spent their life in the cushy Pacific Northwest where mild temperatures promote long battery life. He provides free CarFax, so check!). Secondly, he puts his money where his reputation is. Greg has a huge inventory! Yes, dealerships and other lots buy off-lease Leafs but nobody buys as many as Greg. Theres a good chance no matter what year, color, mileage, or trim package you are looking for Greg will have it. I spent six months deciding what I wanted and when it was time to pull the trigger Greg had three cars on the lot that fit my fussy criteria. I went prepared with Blue Book market values, and thankfully he prices very competitively. Do your homework on the Leaf. Hit the MyNissanLeaf forums (Greg Platt is there too) and immerse yourself in Leaf culture, then go see Greg. There are no shenanigans, theyll even have LeafSpy ready to show you the batterys actual state of health. I myself was helped by Ray who is a bonafide electric aficionado and a genuinely nice person. Zero buyers remorse for me. Platt Auto made stepping into the world of electric vehicles fun, enjoyable, and stress-free.

I could tell you that Ive bought three cars from dealers in the past, but that wouldnt matter. I could tell you this was the best buying experience Ive had out of the three, but that wouldnt matter. I could tell you how I did the math only to find that Platt Auto had the best deals on Leafs, but that wouldnt matter. I could tell you how I armored up to mentally defeat a car salesman, but was completely disarmed by Gregs sincerity, but that wouldnt matter. Why? Because youre looking at that one 1 star review, and it bothers you. I know. I did the exact same thing. All I can tell you is to go through Rustys post history and youll see hes a complete tool. He leaves a good review at a car parts store because they gave him good service. Then he leaves a bad review at a car repair service because they charged him an arm and a leg to fix an improper installation of said part. He reviewed a motorcycle shop for good service, but then changes that review because they didnt give him free stuff that his friends got (hats, T-shirts, etc). I can tell you that Rusty Tracey is a complete dork. If youre looking to join the future which is electric cars and want a Leaf, go no further than Platt Auto. Theyve got a wide selection and they wont jerk you around because they believe in the product theyre selling. I stake my reputation on it.

When I arrived at Platt Auto I had dozens of questions and I wasnt exactly sure which year and package of Nissan Leaf was the best fit for me. Greg greeted me at my car and presented himself as a information source and never once did he try to pressure me or conceal information. Hands down, Platt has the best selection and prices of Nissan Leaf years and packages that you will likely find in the PNW. Even though I arrived near closing time Greg gladly allowed me test drive about a half dozen cars. I asked an exhaustive list of questions and concerns as Greg kindly and patiently answered each one of them. The car I decided on has exceeded my expectations in every way and so has the service. Once I got home I realized that one of my tires was worn much more than the others (previous owner didnt rotate them). When I mentioned this to Greg on the phone he asked me to come back in and hed make it right. I followed him to a nearby tire shop, they replaced the tire at no charge, and I drove home. I couldnt be more pleased with the friendliness, the amount of knowledge, and the integrity I experienced throughout this car purchase. I wish Google had an option to provide bonus stars for exceptional service. Thanks Greg!!
