Bought a brand new CX-9 4880 miles ago (about 4 months ago) through Dwayne Lanes Ford Lincolm Mazda in Burlington, Washington. So the car has 4889 miles for the first oil change time. We live in Vancouver, Washinton. Scheduled a 1pm oil change with the care care service plan coupon 3 weeks ago with Mazda of Gladstone (parents live in Oregon City, good excuse to come down) . Showed up at 12:55pm, handed over the keys after verifying my name and cell phone number. I was told (and I expected) about 1 hour for the service, which is to be expected. I went for a walk to Meldrum Bar Park (had 1 hour wait). Walked back and was in the waiting room at 1:50pm. At 2:00pm, the same service guy came out and talked with me. He stated that the Car Care Service Plan I bought when I purchased the new car is NOT from Mazda and is not acceptable everywhere, only the place where we purchased it. He said he tried calling The Service company to make a deal/talk about the coupon, but The Service Plan is through a company in Florida, not Mazda, which "closed 30 minutes ago". Now, if Im not mistaken, my appointment was from 1pm, he is talking to me at 2pm, the Service company closed at 1:30pm, which is still 30 minutes AFTER my scheduled 1pm oil change time. Added to that that he verified my cell phone number back at 12:55pm, he could have called me at any time within that hour saying that there is a problem (well, within the 30 minutes after the company closed, because thats when it seems like they even started my car). Anyways, he said I would have to pay for it using my credit card, then ask for a reimbursement myself through the Florida company. And he would have the finance guy talk to me about switching it to a Mazda plan. Whatever, I said to the Oil change. So anyways, he then stated that they would START working on my car now (remember its 2pm, not my 1pm scheduled time anymore). At 2:55pm, he came back out, saying my car was done. That I didnt owe anything right now, he took the coupon, but said the finance guy will call me tomorrow about everything we talked about prior (changing service plan to Mazda, reimbursement myself and paying credit card). 2 hours for an oil change, that I had scheduled a time for, 3 weeks prior to the scheduled time. On the "Full Circle Service Report Card" that was handed to me, the mileage says "5097", not the "4889" my car really has. The coupon is for "Lube, Oil and Filter Change Plus Tire Rotation". Under "Rotate Tires" on the "Full Circle Service Report Card", it is crossed off and written "Torque". So they didnt even follow what the coupon says (which remember, I prepaid all this when I bought the Car Care Service Plan). As I got into my car, the Service guy handed me 2 coupons to WAHMAN car wash (Im assuming because he noticed I was pissed). All in all, next time, Ill try these guys one more time (considering the other Mazda places I have hear bad reviews about, so Im willing to give them 1 more shot in another 5,000 miles). I dont care about 2 free car washes. I care about integrity. But when I schedule an appointment, I expect my appointment time to mean something. I expect honestly on paperwork (mileage that was written down). I expect honest labor (actually follow instructions "Rotate Tires" does not mean "Torque" with no tire rotation). I expect that if I do my part, the company that I PAY to do work will do their part.

I recently purchased my first new car from these guys and couldnt be happier. When I started my car search, Mazda wasnt really even in my top 5 but we decided to swing by here and just take a look. We were immediately greeted by Alex, who was super friendly and helpful. He showed us several cars that were in the price range I gave him without pushing anything more expensive. He let us take the first car out on a nice long test drive to really get a feel for it. When we got back I told him I was interested in a few other cars so I didnt want to make any decisions yet. I decided to pop over to the toyota dealership next door because I was really interested in a Rav4 or Prius. As soon as we got to the toyota dealership, the toyota salesmen started circling like vultures. Once I started poking around a car, the first salesman came over and started talking. Within about 15 minutes we had been passed to our 3rd salesman, all of whom were very pushy, even when I told them I was just browsing. I decided to take a scion for a test drive and it was the complete opposite of our experience at Mazda. We went for a quick loop around the block, never going over 35mph. When I asked about test driving a similar model, I was told "they are practically the same so you dont need to drive both". Needless to say we were ready to get out of there as fast as possible. I told the salesman we were going to get lunch and look at a few other cars and practically ran back to my car. After eating some lunch and talking things over we went back to the Mazda dealership. Alex was in an appointment so we were greeted by Chad one of the managers. He was equally nice and helpful and showed us a few more car options that fit my needs. Another sales associate Monica then let us test drive about 5 more cars without ever making us feel like we were taking too much time. I probably spent a total of about 6 hours at the dealership, looking, test driving, and going over pricing. The entire time everyone was very helpful, and never made me feel pressured. I ended up getting the car I wanted for a price I could afford and couldnt be happier with my experience. If you want to avoid the dreaded "car salesman" experience that some other dealerships have, I would highly recommend coming to Mazda!

My wife and I had an awesome experience while purchasing our Mazda CX-5 GT at Gladstone. I first spoke with Lynn on the phone to schedule the visit. She was very welcoming and sent me a follow-up email shortly after, with directions to the showroom since the main office building has been shutdown for remodeling. So our interaction with Gladstone started on a very positive note. We got there an hour early and Lynn was busy with another customer. So we mostly dealt with Alex while buying the car. We had zeroed in on the CX-5 due to its impressive features and had already test driven the car once. I wanted to drive the car once in the dark and compare the regular lights with the auto-leveling LED headlamps (available as a part of the tech package). Alex was very welcoming. It was freezing outside, so he asked us to stay inside while he pulled up a Touring base model and a Touring model with the Tech package near the makeshift office. He turned on the heater for the cars and warmed them up while we were waiting in the office. While test driving the cars he routed us once through the interstate and once through a dark inner road to get a feel of both the roads and also to be able to compare the respective headlamps. He also explained all the features in detail. Later my wife test drove the grand touring model; all of this was even before we had expressed any interest in buying the car on the same day. I am not sure if anyone else would be so welcoming! After we decided to buy the CX-5 GT the negotiation process with Alex was very smooth. We ultimately bought the car at a price we were very happy with. We were treating this as a long term investment, so we bought the maintenance package and the extended warranty on the car. Our interaction with Vic at the end to finalize the financial details was also very positive. I have only positive things to say about Alex, Lynn and Vic. My wife had recently bought a Honda and she said her experience there does not even compare to the experience we had at Gladstone. Thanks Gladstone for making this experience wonderful! I am definitely recommending you to my friends.
