A Tormay

In late September 2015 my family and I conducted a week-long driving tour of Oregon starting in Portland and including a visit to wine country and the coast. By far the most memorable experience centered around McMinniville, home of NW Food & Gifts and Insiders Wine Tour. James, proprietor of NW Food & Gifts, was our Insiders Wine Tour host and tour guide. We developed a preliminary list of wineries we wanted to visit and left it to his expert judgment to customize the tour to best fit our desired group experience. He didn’t disappoint. From his expert vantage point as a wine enthusiast and extensive knowledge of the area and wineries, everything was absolutely top notch and pitch perfect. He is an excellent story teller and expertly brings to life the unique personality of the wineries and product. Thanks, James for a memory our family will cherish for years to come. Be sure to cap off the wine tour experience with a memento or two from NW Food & Gifts … a lovely shop with a diverse array of affordable and unique items.

Kind of bummed to see a favorite place doing things wrong. Bought two bottles of wine after a wine tasting and was still charged the wine tasting fee. Who does this? Also was told that they planned to charge $50 to sit at one of their outside tables during McMinnville events. Really? Not sure whats changing there, but after buying a few Peasleys and some expensive woodwork products over the years (not to mention wine), I feel my visits to NW Food & Gifts will become less frequent.

This store is full of quality items handmade by Oregon locals. They also have their own brands. They have wine tastings with sommeliers well versed in Oregon wines. This is a good place to pick up small items to take back home as a reminder of your visit to McMinnville, and the state Oregon. Also available are gift packs or create your own gift box to be mailed home or to loved ones. Good place to wrap up your trip, or for locals to share Oregon pride.

Love the friendly faces I see every time I go into this business! Everyone is always happy and upbeat. The last time I was in I was recovering from a cold and James told me about a drink he makes to help boost your immune system. It had nothing to do with products he carried there but he just genuinely cares about his clients. I will definitely be back in the future!

Its the perfect store to find a memento of Oregon thats actually made in Oregon. Theres everything from high-end jewelry to handcrafted food to souvenirs for a couple bucks (and a great selection of local wine). Historic Third Street is worth a few hours of any visit.
