Hate to give this a bad review but from the last many visits Ive been here its been disappointing. When I first visited here I was interested in buying a ferret. A little pricey but still the cutest thing on earth. The staff would walk past me every time so I had to actually go up to the cashier station and wait until someone walked over and asked "are you going to buy that?" She didnt expect me to buy a ferret but I understand that I dont look like a potential buyer (16 years old). I love my ferret and it has kept me company for a good few months now. Next visit I purchased two redtail sharks. Well one was a red tail and the other was mistakenly a rainbow shark (he couldnt even tell the difference). The guy had little knowledge on fish and supplies that he stood there for a good 20 min. just staring at merchandise when I asked if he had any prefilters. (We also had to wait 10 min. for the cashier to give us the real price because the fish dude marked them the price of the rainbow sharks instead of the redtail). Next visit I bought 12 feederfish. There was a new fish guy which kinda looked more educated in what he was talking about but was rude. I asked if he could pick out certain kinds of fish that I wanted. He said that would be too much work. So then I asked could I fish them out myself then. He then said that he couldnt let me do that because theres cameras and he would get in trouble. Okay... so I got not 12 but 17 goldfish that are random colors (most of them I kept as pets) that half of them are unwanted. The unwanted half I let some of my friends have and one I gave to my ferret to chase in the water. The worst part of all is that he said they would just die In a week and it doesnt matter what color they are. (Theyve been alive for almost a month). I love this store because of the pets but not the people. The only person I would say that I enjoy is the girl who let me buy the ferret. Every time I come in she comes up and asks how is he doing and such. Shes the type of person who deserves to be manager.

This place is horrible. We got 2 dogs from there. The first dog had a respiratory infection we were told when we got him. This is not uncommon in the breed, so we thought ok no big deal. We took him and his antibiotics home. We took him to their vet to activate the warranty and expressed our concerns to the vet. They did nothing but give him a breathing treatment and sent us on our way. We then decided to take him to our own vet and come to find out besides a respiratory infection, his wind pipe his half the size it should be. He was on antibiotics for 2 months to finally get rid of his infection. We now have to closely monitor him when ever he is outside or running around so he doesnt pass out from lack of oxygen. The second puppy we got looked healthy and acted healthy. We were told she was on antibiotics because they give it to all the puppies now because they get handled So much. It made sense to us. We took her home and decided to not drive the hour from our house to their vet to activate the warranty. We took her to our vet and started her puppy shots and her routine check up. The vet found it very odd she was on antibiotics for not apparent reason. Expecially the type of antibiotics and the dosage. About a week after we got her, she started coughing so we took her back to the vet. She also has a respiratory infection. He gave her a different antibiotic. She got progressively worse. In a weeks time she stopped eating and drinking. She has got snot pouring out of her nose and has lost 3 pounds. We have sence been to the vet 5 times in a week and a half and she is not getting better. She has had 3 different antibiotics, and fluid from our vet. I called pet land and was pretty much told not their problem. I never activated the warranty and besides if I had it doesnt cover anything but birth defects. I will NEVER get another dog from them again. Both my puppies came to us very sick and my newest one is on the verge of being hospitalized if she doesnt improve over the weekend.

I got a puppy from here and they stated she was a Pekingese well now that she is an adult she does not have Pekingese in her at all. She is a Shih Tzu and could be mixed with Maltese. If youve been here you know their dogs go for about $1000. Pretty sure they are puppy mill puppies as well just like basically every petland. I did not know at the time or I would of never of gotten a dog from here but I wouldnt trade it for anything because I love my little girl. The other day I went here to get hedgehog food and a can of wet dog food. I got home to feed my dog and I decide to check the date on the dog food and Im glad I did. It expired February 21 16.. So I had to drive all the way out there the next day to return it. Nobody apologized and they all looked dumb founded when I told them it was expired and I did not want it. Well I went back today to get hedgehog bedding since they were having deals and I decided to get more dog food while I was out and what do you know..The exact same can of dog food I brought back was sitting on the shelf with the expiration date of 2 21 16... Obviously they just want money and the can of food was $1.59 I think they can afford to throw that away. But as I noticed they put the same can on the shelf I see my dog smelling something so I turn to see what it is and there is a snake on the ground!! I thought it was fake until I saw it move and go under a shelf. I told an employee and they just looked at me then went and got the snake. Did not say thank you or literally anything to me. They said to each other that that was their missing snake and I just wonder how do you lose a snake and I am so glad my dog did not get ahold of the snake or bitten by the snake. After all of this they have finally lost my business. I am going to make a call there tomorrow about the dog food because unlike them, I care if someones dog eats expired wet dog food.

I dont want to discourage anyone from buying these puppies and giving them the loving home they all deserve, but i feel the need to inform everyone of my experience. I bought a chocolate lab from them and after a full day of having him we could tell he was limping on his front paw. They make you go to the vet they use within 4 business days (pet care) or something so we just brought this issue up with them when we went. They too agreed he was limping and that paw had a deformity. Took X-rays and then they gave us a diagnosis of "all his bones were growing crooked in that paw" that sounded very educated and was so helpful.... After that I was done with this vet, took our puppy to my vet and after about five minutes and looking at the X-rays they could tell us that his radius in that paw was broken and heeled incorrectly between the age of 2-4 weeks, way before we adopted him at 9 weeks. Supposedly these puppies go through 2 physicals before they go up for adoption with these jokes they call vets and neither of them caught this problem. They actually checked the box under skeletal as "within normal limits". I would not trust Petland or that vet that you are receiving healthy animals. The option Petland gave us was to return our puppy or exchange him for another.. they must of known i would never do that. My puppy has been through enough and the most i could give him is love and a forever home. I do want to say even with his paw, he is the most lovable and playful puppy i could ever have and i wouldnt change my decision to keep him. I want all the puppies here to get homes, and if you decide to adopt one use your chance to take he/she to your vet to get a correct physical and make sure you wont have any surprises when you get them home.
