This goes back to 2012, so hopefully things have changed but I highly doubt it. I was planning to lease a Mazda for my son on his 18th birthday, April 30th. I went to this dealership to get the details. They said the best they could do on a new 2012 Mazda 3 was $319 per month, and that Mazda dealers like Kings wont compete with another Mazda dealer. I took them at their word but they said they could not sell it to my son until he was 18 a month from then. I said wed return then. The week before his 18th birthday I was watching the Reds game and they showed the exact car my son was planning to lease on a commercial for $199/month, no money down! So, I went back up to this dealer and explained it to my Sales person, a Mr. Sunderman. He said Id have to speak with the manager, and proceeded to make me wait for 20 minutes on the manager. When the manager came out of his office (we was not with anyone), I explained the situation and said Id like to buy the car at the advertised rate. He then said - I kid you not - "that wasnt OUR ad, that was Mazda Corporate. We dont honor ads. Your rate is still $319/month." I promptly walked over to Mr. Sunderman and explained that I was taking my business elsewhere. He said I should calm down, that nobody will give me that rate. So I left. I got in my car and promptly called Kings Mazda and asked for the Sales Manager. I told him Id just seen the ad on TV and asked if they could do that deal today. He said of course, so I proceeded directly there. The guys at Kings were great, played zero games, and provided me the car at the $199 rate. My son wanted a sunroof added, and the list price was $1,500. I asked the GM not to stick me, and he said no problem, you can have the sunroof for $750, so we did and paid cash for that add on. We left delighted with the way Kings treated us, and disgusted with Jake Sweeney Mazda. I received a call from Mr. Sunderman the next day asking if Id cooled off and was ready to buy the car! I was never more delighted in my life to share that we had purchased the car at Kings immediately after leaving Jake Sweeney, and we purchased it at the "Mazda Corporate" advertised rate. He was stunned, thinking Id come back to him. My son drove and loved that Mazda 3 for the 42 month lease, then we returned to Kings where they again delighted us with the same price for a new 2015 Mazda 3. I wouldnt buy from Jake Sweeney if he were the last Mazda dealer on the planet. Note too that all the dealers at Kings Automall do such a large volume that no dealers can really compete with them. Head out to Kings, youll be glad you did!

I purchased a Mazda 3 from Jake Sweeney. The car I originally saw on the internet the night before was “sold.” The salesman showed me a different car. I test drove it and it was okay but I told the salesman I needed one with cruise control. He said they could add it. I asked where would it be, etc. I was told it would be a Mazda cruise control on the steering wheel like the radio controls and all the other Mazdas. I said okay. They put this cheap Rostra cruise control on the steering column behind the radio controls that 1) was not visible and 2) worked erratically. The cruise control company claims it works. It is erratic and dangerous. You never know what will happen when you push one of the buttons. I told them to take it off because it was dangerous. They said they will only compensate me $200 for not having cruise control on the car I bought. I paid $15,000 for a Mazda3 SV that did not get the promised Mazda cruise control. I could have easily bought a different car with cruise control for that amount. The manager treated me disrespectfully and commanded me to stop saying it did not work consistently. He said they fulfilled their obligation to me. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau and his response contained lies and downright slanderous remarks. This level of immaturity and disrespectfulness at a place of business is appalling. Lessons learned: Don’t buy a car that does not already have everything on it you want. Don’t just have one car in mind when you go. Find several on the internet at that dealer because the one your were interested in is probably “sold.” Bait and switch. Get all promises in writing and make sure they sign it and give you a copy. Take witnesses with you when dealing with them both during the sale and especially if you are having a problem with them. They can lie and you will have no one to back you up. I believe most salesmen are afraid to disagree and speak up to their managers. If you see even one bad review for a dealer, be wary. I will never buy another car from Jake Sweeney Mazda or other Make.

I had A horrible experience with jake sweeny. I was told i could use my car toward my payment down or theyll buy my car. I was told upfront 1000 dollars down. If i gave them my car my payment down would be cheaper. It sound great. I test drove 3 cars and each car had a problem. By 12 midnight the manager came out the back and showed to me this 2012 ford escape. I loved the look. I said okay this is it. We went thru capital one bank i sighned the papers and also papers giving them my car for free they tricked me out of my car. I was told by the manager i should have read thru the contract. They gave me the keys and kept the keys to my pt cruiser which was no longer mine. The guy Ryan who sold me the car drove off the lot and their i was standing trying to stop him cause the seat belt wouldnt snap. My brother whos a police officer across the street from jakes sweeny mazda came over in discussed on what just happen told me to leave the car on the lot. The seats were dirty, a big whole was in the back seat. The sealing of the car was gross. The next day they gave me a loner car. Had it for 4 days before the seat belt was fixed. I called capital one. They took notes because they said they dont like doing business with shady car lots. The manager from captial one bank was so nice . unlike mike and Travis from captail one which was rude and nasty. I wanted was to trade the car. No one was willing to work with me. Im stuck with this car and a contract. Lessond learned. Do not go here people. I am putting this on the news capital one said theyll back me up to clear their name because i got my loan thru them. I called. Jake sweeny in try county for higher management and noone has reached back out. Be careful people.

This place operates on shady business practices..I would highly recommend you avoid Jake Sweeney dealerships if you are looking to buy a car, especially if you dont like being taken advantage of. The salesman I worked with was fine, but the managers and dealership as a whole has no problem milking money out of their customers in any way they can. The managers are the ones who are really deciding what kind of deal you get, mind you. I bought a car from Jake Sweeney some months ago and was promised, in writing. a 2nd key fab with my vehicle within 30 days. When I mentioned it in person, my salesman told me theyd take care of it and never got back to me. Now that I am following up (again), they are saying that they wont give me the key despite that my contract says they would. They quoted me "at cost" for around $250. (called another dealership - they charge the same thing for every customer). Also, I called Jeff Wyler Mazda at Eastgate and told them my situation - they were horrified at the situation and are now giving me a fob free of charge and only charging me a small programming fee. Oh...by the way - they will sneek in a $1000 "shielding fee" on every car and try to discreetly cover it up in the math so you dont notice before you sign the paperwork. Dont let them do this. I am going to leave this review on every site I can find. Contact me if you would like to make good on our contract and I will remove the bad reviews.
