On Saturday Aug 27 I purchased a Shiba Inu Puppy from Friendly Pets in Greensboro NC. For $1499. I brought the dog home that night and within a short period it attacked my 5 year old female dog. This was not standard rough housing or puppy play. It was a aggressive act with the puppy wrapping around my dog and ripping hair from her back while biting. That Next afternoon on Sunday the 28th we in a heartbreaking decision I decided I had no choice to return the puppy. I was so distraught over the situation I remained in the car as my GF took the puppy back inside. Later than night I realized they had given her a refund receipt for only $1124 plus sales tax totaling 1200. This was $375 short of what I had paid just 20 hours earlier. That next day on Monday the 29th I called the manager of the store Ann Marie wanting advice on if I had made the right decision to return the dog so fast. She advised I bring my dog up and she would evaluate and see if there was a possibility I could bring the puppy back home. Literally 30 seconds after I arrived and the puppy was brought back out it attacked my dog yet again leaving a clump of her hair on the floor. The manager commented this was as extreme example of dominance and this dog might have to go to a family with no other dogs and it would take a professional trainer to be able to raise this dog. I then asked why I couldnt have the remaining $375 returned to my debit card. She said it was their policy to keep a fee if a dog is returned no matter the reason. I told her in most cases I could see where that makes sense as this is a life not a TV, however you yourself said this dog had special needs. I advised her I had gone beyond my responsibility by attempting to give it another chance and bringing my dog up there to only be attacked again. She said she would try to help me and contact the owner. I followed up on the 30th but no response. Finally on the 30th she called me and told me there was nothing she could do as that was part of their policy no exceptions. I then told her I hated for it to come to this but informed here I had not signed anything. debit to pay for the dog and I was unaware of any type of "restocking" fee I was only verbally told we had 48 hours to return the dog. I signed no document stating I would not get my full amount paid back. I then returned the dog (merchandise) only 20 hours later. I then returned to the store to make every effort I could to take the dog back home but the puppy then bit my dog right in front of the manager proving this dog had underlying issues. the manager offered credit of $375 to on a dog costing $1699. I declined as a dog is a emotional decision and after this experience I needed time to reassess the situation. I asked them to kindly refund my $375 and close this transaction without offering me credit dependent on doing business with them again. She refused and I said I would be forced to dispute the charge only to have her mention a lawyer. I tried everything to resolve this but they refused to listen.

I will never come back to "Friendly Pets" I used to come here in my free time to look at the fish and other animals, they also sold my dogs food a few bucks cheaper here. After seeing how the animals were being treated and how the workers act ill never come back! There were many cages set up. They are piled on top of each other with glass for the windows and metal bars the puppies walk on. Ive seen workers pile up to 3 - 5 puppies inside one small glass cage. The puppies stay inside the glass cages for hours on end each day. A few of the puppies I often saw fighting each other over a toy or space because there just simply was not enough room for all of the pups. If you visit a shelter youll notice each dog in there gets their own cage or sometimes will be sharing a bigger cage with "ONE" other dog not 4. When I asked to see a few of the puppies they all bit me! I tried giving one its toy and he was blocking the door to leave the small room they gave me to look at the animal. As I tried leaving the room the puppy assumed I was trying to take his toy from him. He growled but being as small as he was I ignored it and tried to walk around him. He growled louder and snapped at my leg causing me to bleed. I yelled for a worker. One guy saw what was happening but did nothing until I called for him! The workers are very lazy. The cages are often seen with poop/pee if you pay close enough attention. One of the cages was filled with poop/pee and the worker left it and I was in the shop for a good 2 hours! I get sometimes things get busy but there were about 4 people working that day. Two of them were just talking to one another behind the register.... They also do not match you with a dog thatll fit your family. When I went to a shelter there was a paper on each cage and a detailed description about the dog. These pups do not have that. Ive seen alot of people returning their pet back to the shop because it did not "Get along" with the cat or bit their child because it was not child friendly.. The animals I feel are over priced. I payed around $80 for my Collie. And he had all of his shots and they fixed him before I could take him home. They also asked that I take him into a vet within 3 - 5 days after adopting him to make sure he was healthy and if anything came up to get back in touch with the shelter and theyll pay the cost. Does this "shop" do that? I doubt it! The shop is way too small for all the animals that they have. The cost youll be paying for a dog here would be $1,000 and up! Youll be lucky if you find a dog here for $1,000! The shelter I got my dog from list what the cost went to. I would like to know where that $1,000 and over is going to at "Friendly Pets"? Shelters also have dogs and cats of all ages. There is a reason why they only sell puppies here because theyre coming from a puppy mill A few of their puppies looked to be in poor health. I look out for these things when I walk into a new shelter or pet shop. Puppy mills should be shut down, and so should this shop! Theyll never get my service again!

DO NOT ADOPT FROM FRIENDLY PETS. We adoped what we naively assumed was a calm, well-mannered kitten. Unfortunately his mannerisms were not character traits, but symptoms. It turns out, our poor kitten was lethargic, and diarrhea-ridden with a painful, swollen stomach -- due to a roundworm infection. On top of this roundworm infection, his ear, and its hairless patch, which we originally thought was the result of some over-eager scratching, was due to a fungal ear infection. As a relatively inexperienced cat-owner, I had no reason to expect this - however I would have thought that a business that centers itself around cats and dogs would have been able to quickly spot this... So, after our visit to the vet, where we were informed of both infections, I contacted Friendly Pets, explaining what had happened, and asking that they do the right thing, and reimburse us for our bill. I asked, because we were lead to believe that this was a healthy kitten. In fact, heres an excerpt directly from their website. "All our cats have been carefully screened by our kennel manager. They are up to date on all vaccinations and dewormings..." I spoke to multiple people, who were polite, but unable to help much -- until I was connected with Ryan. This is when the politeness left the conversation, and I was questioned to the nth degree on which vet I took my kitten to, how did they test him, what medication did they give him, etc. Mind you, this was while he was holding a physical copy of the veterinarys check-up notes that I faxed over... I am at a loss for words at how appalled I am by this complete and utter lack of responsibility. Im disappointed that they did not even attempt to try and make things right - it is infuriating. All in all, Im just happy that we were able to get him away from Friendly Pets. Its very clear that their level of care is seriously lacking. It seems like they care less about the wellfare of their animals and customer service than to make a quick profit.
