Signed up for their special on the puppy class in hopes to get an Certificate from the AKC Star Program. I had questions about the program itself but never received a phone call from the trainer. We were told we would get a call from her later on the day of purchase. Every time we called Petco the trainer line would just ring or she was not in the store. 3 days pass and we finally got through to the trainer and she tells us she has tried to call us. We have our phones on us 24/7 and she repeated the number, so I dont know why she had to lie. The only reason I gave it an extra star in my rating is the manager did manage to give us a refund. If anyone is interested in training your dog look into the local kennel clubs. I found my pup a class at Winston Salem dog training Club for the same price as Petcos special ($85). Better facility and learn about other dog sports as well.

I had to write this review after reading the negative ones below. I typically like to support local stores, but Petco is one of the few box stores I advocate. I have yet to ask the staff a question that I did not get a knowledgeable and satisfactory answer to. They listened to the concerns I had for my rare breed pup with a sensitive stomach and helped me choose the puppy kibble that was just right for him. They are always so loving and friendly towards my dog when I bring him with and are always courteous to me as well. The store is always clean and organized with a good selection, especially for natural and holistic foods. The Petco rewards are great too... Im constantly getting $5 coupons in my inbox! I highly recommend Petco, especially over the local Petsmart (which I found to be dirty and the staff unfriendly the few times I went there).

This was my first time in a Petco and more than likely my last. I could not get ANYONE to help me. Of the 2 employees I saw walking around, neither had any knowledge of what I needed to know. I grew tired of hearing "sorry, thats not my department". I was a bit disappointed in the selection of Reptiles and dog toys. The only good thing I can say is I found a harness/leash for our Chinese Water Dragon. But I guess I will have to stick to Petsmart. Theyre cheaper. More people work there and at least most of the employees know what you need.

Bad customer service, its almost impossible to find anyone to help you even when the store is dead. I have on a few occasions waited at the register for over five minutes waiting on anyone to cashier. The company sends out coupons that the store will not honor. I refrain from shopping here whenever possible. Id rather fight the crowds at Petsmart, at least I can check out there.

i like this store because even though its a big chain the employees dont seem as stuck up as the ones at petsmart. cant say ive ever needed help with anything there as i used to work in a petstore myself, but overall i would go there just to beat the crowd at petsmart. (groomers are great too, always seem to be available.) PS no appointment necessary for just a nail trim.

My wife and I returned for a reluctant third time drawn in by a coupon and found the attitude at the cash register despondent at best yet again. I dont know if the employees are miserable or angry or both but were never going back again. Do yourself a favor and support a local business instead.

It was OK they were understaffed on a Saturday morning. It was hard to find things and it appeared that fish and small mammals were being neglected. For supplies itd probably be OK even though they are pricey but I deffinately will not be buying fish or any other pet from them

I saw a Dead Lionfish. REPEAT a DEAD LIONFISH. There Coral frags Were getting eaten alive By Crabs And There was a dead Clownfish Getting eaten by a Shrimp

Staff is very educated on pet food. They are really helpful if you are confused with what you should feed your pet. Great selection on pet products.
