Edited 3/28/16 -- This began as a positive experience. Appliance Outlet had a good selection of gently-used W/D combos. I purchased a nice set for what I thought was a fair price with a 1-year warranty. Despite the fact that their cash register systems were down and I had to go get cash to pay, I was happy with my new W/D. They were to deliver and install two days later. We had a very bad experience with the delivery and I vowed not to do business with this store again. Several weeks after my delivery, I received an unsolicited call from the owner of the store asking about my delivery experience. Apparently, they had issues with the delivery team, who had subsequently been let go after several customer complaints. The owner was calling all the customers that had taken delivery from the crew. I was astounded. I had made no complaint; I simply had the equipment installed by someone else and let it go. I did write a bad Google review, but he had not seen that. I reiterated my experience to Paul, the owner, who asked me what he could do to make it right with me. I simply asked him to come and check one small thing that I wasnt certain had been done when the appliances were installed, but otherwise everything was working well. Not only did Paul make a trip to my house to check the installation, but he refunded my delivery charge AND the money it cost me to have the equipment installed. He was genuine about making it right with me, and he did that and more. It is so refreshing to deal with an owner who really cares about my experience and making sure I get my moneys-worth. I cant say enough good things about Paul. If I have a need for any appliances in the future, Appliance Outlet is the FIRST place I will look. My experience shows me that if I ever have an issue with my purchase, there is actually an owner listening who cares about my satisfaction. In this economy, thats gold to me.

Horrible horrifying experience. I wouldnt even put one star but I had to to write a review. Paul the owner is an awful businessman and con artist. he will sell you something that looks good but when something goes wrong you cant get a hold of anyone. I bought an appliance and within a few days it went bad and it took me two weeks to get somebody to come out and actually look at it. Then I took another week and a half to get someone to repair it. After that when it was repaired it really wasnt and got worse because the owner didnt know what he was doing and I wake up in the morning and my whole kitchen is flooded. I tried to talk to the owner Paul and he avoided my calls and avoided My text. I had to go to the store and he knew I was coming and avoid me again. I went in the morning and caught him and he refused to refund me and told me to got f myself and call the police and take him to court. He didnt care about any complaints and conned me out of $150 saying NC wont let him refund the taxes and delivery charges. I took what I could get because as a woman he scared me. He still has yet to Pay me for the money he owes me and come pick up the refrigerator from my house. Do not buy from him he is not a goodbusinessman and will take advantage of you. He has the Better Business Bureau on his website but he is not registered with them. Do not trust this person he is a con artist. Dont waste your time and pay a little more money going somewhere else because youll be chasing him. You pay what you get. Paul is the worst of worst. One day someone will be his match and it wont be pretty. Not me. Like I said I took what refund in could get and ran. I will never recommend him. Dont want anyone to go through what I did. Especially a woman. Wish I could report him legally to stop him from conning and ripping people off.

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. When my fiancé and I bought our washer and refrigerator from here, we paid the extra fee to have it delivered to our house. Since we were closing on our house at 10 am, we asked if the delivery could be 11:30 or later. The woman helping us said that it depended on the most convenient route for the delivery driver, not on what we needed. She did, however, make a note on our forms saying that we shouldnt be the first delivery on the route. Low and behold, we find out a few days later that we are scheduled for a delivery at 10 am, the same time we close. We cant miss our house closing and the next delivery day isnt for 3 more days...we decide to pick up our items in the uhaul and install them ourselves. The washer works fine, but after pouring water non stop, the refrigerator now refuses to produce water or ice. When we called to have someone come out and look at it (under warranty) we were informed that it would be an extra $45 charge because we CHOSE not to have it delivered. They put us between a rock and a hard place and are now trying to penalize us. I have never worked with a company that would not at least try to work around a customers scheduling needs. My fiancé was a returning customer to this "establishment," but we will never buy from them again. Youre better off going to a standard appliance store than dealing with these inconsiderate people.

HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY!!! These people couldnt give a s**t about your time at all. I bought 2 machines from them and they both went down under their warranty. Im not complaining about them breaking because I bought them being used but getting them to service their own product is so difficult. It took them almost 2 weeks to even get me on their calendar. I couldnt just call and schedule a time. I guess you have to call them to let them know you have an issue. Then they call you back with what works from them. When no one calls you back day after day, it makes it hard because the scheduling ladies dont know anything about scheduling. Its pretty confusing to me. They give you a 5 hour window and of course, do not show up. I called to see what is going on and they reply with, "he could be there in a couple minutes, or a couple hours. I dont know". I asked if they could call the technician to see what time he would be here and she told me they didnt have the techs number. How helpful right? Hopefully they send someone that is actually working with their company. How do you not have all your technicians phone numbers? Anyway, very disappointing. I would definitely NOT recommend these people to any friends, family or strangers. Theres other local businesses that do a much better job. I wont EVER shop here again.

I would buy from them again. Overall my experience was pretty good. I purchased a washer & dryer and so far have not had any issues. Im actually very pleased with them both. Management and staff were awesome. Very professional and friendly. When I originally stopped by the store it was around 6pm and they were closing. The store was supposed to be opened until 7pm. I was a little annoyed by that, however I ran into the manager and he explained why they were closing and apologized for any inconvenience. He directed me to come back the next day, which I did, and if I made a purchase he would give me free delivery, which he did. I do have one suggestion. They really need to do better with scheduling the deliveries. The delivery times are to broad. Originally I was told they would deliver between 9am-2pm. Then the day before the scheduled delivery I was told 2pm-7pm. Luckily was able to have someone at my home to accept the delivery for me but with those delivery times you really cant plan your day because you just dont know. They actually ended up delivery around 1:30pm. Personally I think when scheduling a delivery it shouldnt be longer than 2hr intervals. Based off my experience I would do business with them again and would recommend others to do business with them as well. Im very satisfied.
