Dont shop here. Not even if you have to! Humans should be treated better than this! I cant believe they have become this horrible. Micro Center has been my firms and personal go-to store for all of our technical needs for at least a decade now. We easily spent $20k+ a year there. Time to make a permanent change. After todays experience with their general manager, I wont go back there again and on Monday, I will be instructing each of my employees that Micro Center is no longer an authorized vendor. I had sent my representative today to return a simple cable, inadvertently purchased together with a monitor, after the sales person insisted there was no cable with the monitor. Of course, there was. Simple mistake, no big deal. A 30 minute drive in each direction and 15 minutes on the return line, but, no big deal. The big deal started when the clerk accidentally processed a return for the entire order, and not just the monitor. This would normally cause one problem. My representative did not have MY credit card on him, which is NOT necessary for returns, but IS necessary for repurchases. The second problem was that this purchase was made in 2015. The fiscal year is now closed and the credit card has been paid. The tax accounting data has also been finalized. As such, I cannot have returns and re-purchases of technology that is already on my books for 2015. The manager on duty got involved. He claimed to be the highest ranking employee in the store today, although there is no way of verifying that. This did not help. It might have helped, had the manager been a competent and intelligent individual. He was not. When I asked my rep to put ht manager on the line, I explained the problem to him and told him that he could not re-sell me the monitor, but simply had to void out the return transaction and then process the return solely for the cable, his response was simply "Dont tell me how to do my job!" He did not allow me to respond to that, but rather handed the phone back to my agent and advised him, a dignified 65 year old professional, that since I was in possession of the monitor and the store had processed a return, unless we re-purchased it, he would call the police and report it as a theft. I rarely encounter even the lowest level of employee, who would treat his companys customers with such rudeness and hostility, not to mention intimidation with empty threats (police do not prosecute accidental refunds by stores as theft by customers - and a store making such hollow threats, should not be shopped at!). Ultimately, on standing his ground, the only resolution my agent received was that the entire transaction was then cancelled (including the refund for the cable) and the manager advised that we had to call the accounting department on Monday to resolve the issue. I dont understand what the issue was, since the simple solution would have been to do what he ultimately did and THEN, process a refund for just the cable. This experience is so disgusting to me, that quite frankly, I am seriously considering boycotting not just this store (which is a given, unless MicroCenter fires that manager by Monday and shows me proof), but the MicroCenter website and their Queens location, where we probably spend an additional $10-12k a year. I know that might be going a bit overboard, but now that Amazon has same day delivery, and given that B&H has lower prices, as does Newegg, whats the point in trying to build a relationship with a local store, when the store doesnt want my business? Dont go there. Save the aggravation. Order online from a good vendor like Amazon or Newegg, and youll get whatever you want without having to leave your home, deal with MicroCenters atrocious lines with only one cashier on duty, and most importantly, without the customer service from hell!

Im not used to writing reviews, so this is my first one. In short, this place is the best computer electronics store that Ive ever been to. I feel very obliged to leave a good review here, and this store absolutely deserves it. Its medium sized, compared with Bestbuys massive store space. Despite that, the selection of products is just as good, if not any better, because things are arranged closer together, but neatly and not packed. And it doesnt have fancy, shiny indoor decor, but is every bit as clean. So from first step inside the place, youll know the good folks here do things the common-sense way. And their great prices say that theyre passing the savings along to you. Above all, the customer service is incredible. Everyone is ultra friendly. I was there looking for a 2-in-1 laptop. And I was genuinely surprised when the sales rep, Mr. Chawla, didnt try to up sell me anything, but instead offered very sound advice on why one model is more expensive than another, and whatre the extra features/qualities that Id be paying for. I was able to make a very informed decision, without paying for what I dont need, nor cheaping out on something that doesnt suit my purposes. I also had a pleasant interaction with Lauren, the young lady working at the Returns. I had to return a tablet because the manufacturer made an incredibly silly design decision - no built-in microphone. She was Costco-style friendly and took it back with a smile. After she learnt why I was returning it, she kindly offered to help me look for alternatives. Im still utterly shocked that such a place exists, given how difficult the retail industry is nowadays. The prices are reasonable - about the same as online, with some being even cheaper than Amazon and other a tad pricier. Im happy to pay more for the great shopping experience. Its a little far from my home, but its already become my favorite.

I DONT RECOMEND ANYONE TO GO Horrible customer service. I went into microcenter to have the ram and memory on my 2008 MacBook updated so it could handle the most recent operating system which in this case is Yosemite. The gentlemen who helped me choose my parts were wonderful and helpful but when I got to the technological support area so they could install my newly bought ram and memory at microcenter they just had me hand it over and sign paper work saying I had backed up my items and i am entrusting my computer in there care. Mind you never at one point was I made aware even on all the paperwork I signed which i hold copies too as well the prices for the Manuel labor. When I was called the next day to pick up my items I was told I was being charged $173 for the labor which i then proceeded to ask for a break down of the charges. Two of the charges was for the Manuel labor of the ram and memory which i told them I thought it was included since I wasnt made aware before the whole process. I paid it because I dont expect anything free but told them they should really inform there customers before hand. When I revived my bill I saw the most expensive charge was for the installation of the operating system Yosemite of $70+ which i asked them why did they install this without my knowledge when I had the operating system snow leopard at home to initialize my black hard drive and then I could proceed to download Yosemite for free on the apple website, since apple made snow leopard the last system apple customers had to pay for and the rest of the upgrades would be freed. They just stated quiet and apologized but didnt offer to refund me my money. In the end THEY SCAMMED ME OF MY MONEY AND RENDERED POOR SERVICES. I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO.
