Disclaimer: I did not buy a car from Lavish, and I am here to tell you why. I dont inherently think Lavish is up to anything shady, just either mismanaged or have backwards policies. Hopefully the Lavish team will read this and fix the issues I had, or others will read this and take heed to what I say. I was interested in a 2004 Hyundai Elantra on their lot for $3500, from an ad I had seen on Craigslist. The ad said we could put $1000 down, and pay $250 a month. I texted the number on the ad, and made an appointment. I also told her I would be taking it to a mechanic in the same city (C&C Auto Service offers inspections for $65+tax) for prepurchase inspection. When I first arrived, the lot seemed kinda run down (at best), but thats not necessarily an issue on the car, so I kept an open mind. I met with one of the employees (not Jenna or Cedric), he let me turn on the car and pop the hood. I was going to take it for a test drive and to a mechanic, but before that the gentleman needed some information from me so we went inside. Inside, he took a photocopy of my DL and some other information, no big deal. We waited about 10 mins, and he was talking to Jenna, who was the person I texted from the ad. I was given the phone, and Jenna asked me if I was insured (I am not, I am looking to buy a vehicle to insure). I told her I wasnt, and she told me I was not allowed to take a vehicle 30 mins out of the way to get it inspected (If the institution is insured, the car is insured. Insuring me would do no good since I do not own the vehicle). I told her it was 10 miles down the road, and it would end up being the same if I took it for a test drive anyway. She said it was not a problem, and I thought everything was ok. Then Cedric showed up, and said I could not take the vehicle to a mechanic due to a previous incident in which someone said they were taking the vehicle for inspection but just ended up using it to drive around for errands or something (Ok.... then report the vehicle as stolen). I told him he could ride in the car with me, which would cover both the insurance if the business is insured, as well as me driving off with the vehicle. He said ok, and we headed outside to the vehicle. Then Cedric said, due to me looking into financing options, that I would have to be preapproved before I could even take the car for a test drive. This was a bit more than ridiculous, I had never heard of this before and any dealer I had gone to would offer a test drive before payment was even on the table, and some would let me take the car by myself. Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated. It had already been 30 mins since I showed up, and I wasnt even able to take the car out of park. It seemed to me that the dealer was coming up with every reason to not let me take the vehicle out under any circumstances. Preventing me from taking the vehicle to any kind of mechanic had me on edge, so I left. Tl/dr: Message to any buyers: take any vehicle here to YOUR OWN mechanic. If the dealer wont let you, walk away. This applies to any dealer, not specifically to this one. Message to Lavish: revise your alleged policies to let people take test drives without being approved for a line of credit on a vehicle that hasnt even been agreed on to purchase. It makes no sense and causes potential customers to walk away, such as myself.

Nicest guy you would ever want to meet! Young, enthusiastic, well mannered and knows little about cars. While I appreciate Cedric the owners willingness to help me find the perfect car, there were things that were said about the car he found for me and agreed on that were fabricated and the repairs were not followed through on and that was gut wrenching as when I ask him to reduce it to writing he said "you have my word." I am now paying for repairs to the tune of $800.00 with phone calls and text not being returned. Please know that you could wind up getting a great car here and you might just end up with a car that has a number of things wrong with it that were undisclosed. If you do buy a car from Cedric.PLEASE HAVE YOUR MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT. Cedrics mechanics are somewhat shady and you never get their names or locations and certainly asking for a receipt for the work they did never materialized. There are many many other car dealers out there. Sometimes a good price, isnt!

I brought a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE from them not long ago. I was told that it had a tune up, oil change, and there was nothing wrong with it. A week after I purchased it it broke down and when I towed it to the mechanic they said I needed a tune up. Thats was around 230 all together. He also told me that I need a radiator flush because it was rusted, that cost 100. My front and back breaks were bad & I only had money to replace my front breaks which cost around 120. A little later my car kept over heating, I had to get my radiator replaced. My car was driving fine for a while until it just broke down again. I dont recommend anyone to buy a car from them. They dont care if you get a messed up car, they just care about the money. I had several mechanics look at my car and they all told me I got ripped off. I knew them personally when I brought the car from them.
