Great selection, highly informed, no snobbery, friendly staff I had come here for years to get kids bikes as these guys have a good selection of highly affordable used bikes. Their prices on used bikes are really worth stopping in for: as entry level goes, quality is much higher than big box retail and prices are more affordable....plus you are bringing less crap into this world...something I think about a lot with little kids who outgrow bikes and such as a crazy fast rate. I always got the impression that these guys knew bikes and were not at all pushy...so when I decided to get into cycling I went down there. They know their stuff and are not snobby towards newbies. The have cautioned me against making purchases that I wanted in the past in the name of safety. They have watched my kids (no small task) as I demoed countless bikes in the closed road behind the shop...all done with a smile that makes my kids want to return. Most recently, they gave me a refund on a purchase that I honestly didnt feel they were obliged to give me a full refund on. I told them that I was ok not taking a full refund and yet they insisted. That was really classy and something that made me proud to live in the Hudson Valley.

ive bought two fuji mountain bikes with the help of the gentlemen that own this bike shop. they are super awesome bikes, and have been single tracked throughout the eastern seaboard! the bike shops service is great, and they are most accommodating whether its a flat that needs to be repaired or whatever. obviously i try to go during off peak hours, ie NOT a saturday in the middle of beautiful riding weather. if anything they try to undersell you rather than make you spend mega dollars like other shops might.

This bike shop is seriously incompetent. We took in a bike with a flat tire and had it repaired. Two days later, the same tire was flat again and falling off the frame. We took the bike back, got a tune-up and paid for yet another tire repair. Ten days later, the same tire was flat again, and again falling off the frame. Do not go to this store! They dont know what theyre doing!

Went in to buy new grips for a Giant bike I bought from them. They told me they were impossible to get, and sold me other stuff to jerry rig it. I went to another shop and they ordered the parts no problem. Pleasant Valley Bicycle Shop was just to lazy...when I tried to return the other parts they would not give me a full refund. Go elswhere.

We purchased bikes and bike trailers to use with our kids while working in Poughkeepsie for the month. We had a very pleasant experience with everyone in the shop. They were very helpful in getting us the bikes and all the equipment we needed. They had a great selection of bikes and equipment. I highly recommend this shop.

They bumped up the charge (from last year) for an already overpriced tune-up, then scratched the bejeesus out of my bike because they set the bikes outdoors everyday and bring them in every night. Refusing to acknowledge this was the case, they sent me off aggravated and looking for a new bike shop.

I blew a tire on a bike ride and happened to be right nearby this bicycle shop. They quickly took my ride and put on an new tire and inflated it so I was good to go in no time! They were also courteous and the tire was reasonably priced.
