After riding the Tour de Brooklyn my bike needed some adjustment. Happened to ride by the shop Sunday 10 minutes before they closed. It was crowded with customers waiting in line. I saw right away everyone was being patient. Just a very comfortable environment. I explained my situation, and was asked to bring my bike inside. After a few minutes they closed the shop and took care of ALL the customers that were already inside (which including building a new bike for a customer who just had his bike stolen). Turns out my adjustments were minor and were repaired on the spot. Plus some other adjustments were made that he saw necessary. I was charged $10. These folks are VERY knowledgeble, low keyed. You can tell they have been doing this a while and enjoy it. It is a small store, crammed with bikes and accessories, floor to ceiling. Accesorries & bike prices are competetive. I wouldnt expect to always get turn-around service. I can understand why they could get backed up etc. But Id gladly go back there again !! RECOMMENDED HIGHLY

I bought my bike here 2 years ago, and have never been truly happy with my experiences. The bike was not ready when it was supposed to be ready and I had to wait a few extra weeks. After I finally received the bike, I never felt that I was getting good service when I returned to the shop. I was hoping to find a bike shop where I could be comfortable with so I also bought my extras, such as a new seat, helmet, chain lock and new pedals there. Later, I found out that I was charged much more that many Manhattan stores charge. Although, I tried to be a loyal costume to this shop, I never felt that I was appreciated as a costumer and more that they were doing me a favor my taking my money. Overall, I originally went to this shop because I wanted to support a local business, but am so unhappy with the quality of service that I wish Id gone with a larger shop that seems to do more for their costumers.

I have never written a review on yelp, but had to share how incredible Bicycle Station is. The inside is a bit small, and doesnt look fancy, but it doesnt matter - its whats on the inside that counts, and Mike, the owner, is on the inside! He is the best! He gave me a fantastic deal on my first real bike as an adult. He also added a kick stand and made sure the seat was secure by adding a chain to it, for free. He doesnt want to just make a sale - he really cares about you and your bike. There is no pressure to buy at all. I went to 3 other bicycle shops over a period of 6 weeks, and went to a bike jumble to maybe buy a used bike, but I am so glad I made one last stop at bicycle station. I love my bike and love the fantastic deal!! Thanks Mike!!

Their employees are apathetic at best. Your bike will never be ready on time although they will promise that it will be done the next day. At some point I was told to come down to the shop because I had been calling about my bike which they told me would be ready days prior. I arrived at the time they told me to be there and they said to give them an hour because they were too busy to work on my bike. WTF!!! As if they couldnt have told me that over the phone as not to waste my time. I could really go on a long diatribe about why no one should ever patron this shop. But I wont. My only advice to you is to go somewhere else. And to hope to God that they arent as terrible at what they claim to do as Bicycle Station! Good Luck!

I bought a used bike a couple months back and have been going to Bicycle Station for all of the tune-ups and repairs that Ive needed to bring the bike to where it needs to be. The owner Mike has been fantastic to deal with, and has always given me honest and useful advice on what equipment to purchase. The prices of the goods are fair, as well as the labor. Ill frequently drop in with an issue or a request for some additional equipment and they will help me right away with answering my questions and installing anything I need without an appointment or a service order. Im devoted to this bike shop and will go nowhere else for my parts, service or advice.

I walked in thinking i was going to probably leave empty handed. Ive been looking at bikes for weeks now, not finding really what I was looking for, from craigslist to other bike shops to the brooklyn flea market. Within 10 minutes mike the owner (who introduced himself and shook my hand right away) had picked out a used bike that was perfect. Despite already being tuned, he insisted that one of his mechanics give it the once over one last time. never once did I feel pressured, never once did I feel like he was trying to get me into a bike that wouldnt work for me. I walked away happy, confident that Ill be back. Theres not much else you can ask for.

Bicycle Station is the first bike shop Ive been to where theres no "you-should-know-this-already" attitude.. Ive visited four or five times since they moved right down the block from my apartment, and every time has been a great experience. Even when the shops pretty busy, theres not too long a wait, and I get to deal with someone whos friendly, honest, and willing to take a few extra minutes to show me how to fix some little thing, find the cheapest solution, or teach me how to avoid a future problem. Keep up the good work!

I got a flat tire about a half mile this shop on the way to an event. Needed to have my bike for the day so couldnt afford to just take a car and deal with it later. I walked to Bicycle Station and was helped immediately, despite the fact that there were many customers in the store. I paid $30 for a new tire (the old one was falling apart) and new tube, both speedily installed. Staff was good mix of friendly and efficient. I was on my way in good time. I would definitely go back!

Best Bike repair shop in brooklyn. Mike will quote you a price over the phone for most things and he has common request pricing listed on the wall in his shop. His prices are very fair. Today, he replaced my stolen front tire and fixed my front break for $25 (broken when my tire was stolen). I was in and out of his shop in like 15 minutes. Its nice to have a reliable, inexpensive, expedient bike shop - perhaps a couple blocks off the beaten path. Its well worth getting there.

Why 5 stars? 1- owner operated, no passing the buck or new/confused/sales-hungry staff 2- owner knows his stuff as a real rider himself. 3- reasonable pricing for execllent quality work 4- patience with bike newbs; no snobbery or shark-like behavior 5- since its not retail sales reliant, repairs and builds are front and center. If he says to order a part, its because you need it, not because he sells it or will order it for you (though I suppose he will if you ask nicely)
