After at least 4 visits to this shop, Ive given up on it. Despite the fact that its the closest repair shop to my house, Ill be going further away to receive better and more knowledgeable service. My complaints are: 1. On every visit, without fail, the staff tries to up-sell something I dont need--new tires, primarily. Even if the tires are only a few weeks old. Even if I just bought new tires from them on my last visit. The mantra is always the same--"these tires are unsafe, you need new ones". 2. The simplest and most common repairs seem to be beyond them--on two separate occasions my wife has gone in to have a flat repaired. Both times she had to go back to the shop because they failed to re-attach the wheel correctly. The second time, the wheel actually came off while she was in traffic!!!! Adding to their incompetence, Ive had this problem with them personally--the only time I went in for a flat repair, they also re-attached my wheel incorrectly, and I had to go back a second time. Following that second visit it was STILL not on correctly, I eventually just had to fix it myself. Never go to this shop, your time and money deserve a more professional and knowledgeable experience.

Dropped my bike off for a simple tune-up on Sunday, and was told I could pick up on Monday. I called two hours before pick-up to see if my bike was ready and was told I could pick it up any time I wanted. When I got to the shop I was informed no work at all had been done on my bike. I spoke with a manager who then got someone to complete the work which took less than 30 minutes (makes one wonder how it could have been there for 24 hours and not even been touched). However, when I left the shop I quickly realized the mechanics had missed some things in their rush. Things like a leaking front innertube and a misaligned back wheel. Fortunately the shop was very nice and prompt about fixing everything again and comped me a new tube which was nice. Ill probably go back, but if I get a repeat of this experience itll be my last time.

I went and had used the bike pump to air up . Week later Ive a flat do I walked to the store remind you its 80 got as heck outside and paid $19 for a tube and labor. The man pumps my front tire up to 75 days thats what it calls for I weigh 250 so thats alot I said he told me its ok. I get 4 blocks away it blows up. I call them the Asian man tells me its my fault and Ill have to pay full price. Now I didnt ask or tell that man to do anything to my front tire . Hows that fare Im responsible for it. I shouldve to even explain know More to the man . I never asked you to fix touch look at or air up my front tire . I paid you to fix my back tire. ....... Ill NEVER GO TO FULTON BIKES AGAIN . ELIZABETH ST AND GRAND ST in Chinatown. Thats the place to go...!

So what can I say about this bike shop? Its been 3 years since my last review about the shop. In those 3 years the first two of which I only rode during nice weather and in the last I have becoming a daily commuter. I have gone about 1300 miles. In those 1300 miles I have always come back to Fulton Bikes. The staff is knowledgable and friendly and the owner is always there and will look out for your best interest and will keep your budget in mind. Even though I did not buy my bike from this shop (I actually wish that I did), they always treat me like a prime customer who has. I would recommend this LBS (local bike shop) to anyone in the neighborhood for his knowledge and friendly staff and varied and good supply of bikes and bike gear.

Had been thinking of buying a bike for the longest time but I thought of getting an electric one and then one day as I was sitting on the bus stuck in traffic I saw a fat guy on a regular ole bike casually and slowly ride pass us. That same day after work and came to this shop and bought the first bike Ive had in years. The staff was nice, knowledgeable, and def helped a novice rider (me) pick out a bike and all the accessories. I ended up getting a pretty pricey bike and my total was above what I thought it would be but it was worth every penny because its been 3 weeks and I def love cycling. I get to work faster, zip by traffic, and feel better with all the exercise Im getting. Def would recommend this place to others...

I went to FB to inquire about a lock to purchase for a bike that I would be riding to work regularly. Xavier & E. assisted me in deciding which lock was best. When I returned with my bike I received a tune-up and they helped me pick out basic necessities and accessories. They didnt up-sell me, nor were they pushy in advising me. The entire staff was kind and helpful and I continue to go back for more accessories and receive the same welcoming and courteous service. I have not had any problems with my bike and in fact it rides better than when I picked it up from the original seller (it was secondhand) I recommend Fulton Bikes 100%

This was my 2nd visit to this store in 2 years. I must say my experiences have been great. Henry (owner) needs a day off LOL, he always gives good advice & is willing to answer any questions. Juan or Jose (sorry not good with names) helped me from the time I came in the store. He assisted with new tires, inner tubes, installation & tune up. I left and the gears seemed a bit off, He made the adjustment, test road it & I was off. I turned back just to tell him Thanks. I will definitely be back when I need anything else.

$18 for a standard 700c inner tube replacement (May 2015). The staff ranges from friendly to Napoleonic d-bag. Even though I initially got a helpful salesperson, he passed me to someone else who had conflicting suggestions. Meanwhile, aforementioned d-bag chimes in from the sidelines with snobby opinions on whats not right for my bike and what "other people" will think.. Overall, avoid unless youre stuck, its raining and your feet hurt too much to walk 3 blocks to the A train.

Great neighborhood bike shop. Just went in to get my rear wheel replaced. They had the part I needed at a good price, and they charged me just $6 to install it - nice. As I was waiting for my wheel to be installed I was chatting with who I assume is the owner and he mentioned that the shop has been open for about 25 years. Its also clean and bright inside.

Walked in with a flat, and they fixed it in under five minutes, I kid you not. Charged $18 and some may say thats pricey, but really for the super fast service its totally worth it! The shop is spacious, they have tons of bikes for sale as well as all kinds of accessories. Def goes on my list of favorite bike shops in NYC!
