The most unprofessional, nasty, crooks I have ever dealt with. My fiance was interested in a 2003 GMC sierra pick up truck with 170k miles listed online for 11,500. We arrived November 5th at 9am. We walked into a meeting and were handed the keys and told to go look at the truck ourselves. After waiting an hour for the meeting to end a salesman had to jump the truck in order to get it running for a test drive. Still interested we sat down to discuss numbers. The only thing that we were told was that there was no warrantee and we had to leave a deposit of 1k in order for them to run our credit. I insisted that I would not leave more then 1 hundred dollars and I have never been asked to leave a down payment prior to discussing any numbers. Everytime I asked for a ball park figure of monthly payments I was told that it was not their department by both the salesman and the manager and that I had to wait for the accountant to get there. Around 2oclock we received a call that everything was approved and all we had to do was contact the insurance company and bring documents down. We returned to the dealership at 3oclock with insurance papers and still did not know how much we would be paying. The sales guy proceeded to put our plates on the new truck. I was then notified that I needed commercial plates, which is an issue where I live since its a village and the vehicle would be being parked in the road and commercial plates are not allowed and would be towed. After telling the manager Jim that I would not be purchasing the vehicle I was told I had 2 options. I could keep my plates and swop them every night, which is illegal or I could have then falsify some documents that would allow for normal plates. Realizing at this point the type of people I was dealing with I was backing out of the deal. Last second they notified me that title was last registered with normal plates there for it didnt need commercial ones. At 6pm the accountant finally arrived and I was handed paperwork to sign. I immediately demanded to discuss payments prior to signing anything. At which point I was told that it would be $450 a month for 4 years coming to a total of 21k. I began laughing at this point and told them they were out of there mind for an old vehicle with high miles and no warrantee. The accountant Nick from there smithtown office apologised and stated that he was unaware I had not been aware of any numbers until this point. He even stated that he has kids and would not let them make that purchase. Jim the manager at this point became irate and began yelling at me that Im being unreasonable and said he didnt think money mattered, I wanted the vehicle and he was getting me what I wanted. I had had enough at this point and said no I was not taking this truck, Jim then Turned to my fiance and said your not married yet, you can do whatever you want. My fiance then becoming furious and asked him to shred all paperwork and return our deposit. After another 30 minutes of trying to get our money back, Jim refused to shred all papers and stated money was in a safe that could not be accessed at the moment. After everything all Jim cared about was a good recommendation yet he treated us poorly. The following day we went to a new car dealership where we purchased a 2017 with no miles at $350 a month. Jim and Nick both called us to follow up to see if we were still interested in their truck. We told them no and asked about our refund. We were told it would be mailed out that week. A month later they were recontacted and we were told the refund was being processed and to call back. It is now January and we have not received our money. I would never purchase anything from this company nor recommend them to anyone. They stole 100 dollars from us, waisted our entire day, and ran my finances credit 5x. The aggravation, lies, and aggression from these people were disgusting.

Buyer beware! I bought a 2007 Dodge minivan about 2 1/2 (June of 2012) years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. It started off with the A/C not working. They paid for all of this (they would still have been liable under lemon laws at the time), but it took the shop that they were sending me to six tries to get it working. All of the seals on the whole system were dry-rotted. The following summer, the A/C compressor seized. The warranty that they sold me when I bought the car covered about 2/3 of the cost to replace it. Last January (2014), The engine shut down and would not start. It turned out that the main computer went bad and had to be replaced. The warranty did not cover any of that expense, which set me back about $1200. At the same time, it was discovered that it had a tie-rod that needed to be replaced on the front passenger-side. This morning (11/05/14), on my way to work, I heard some rattling from the front driver-side wheel. When I went over a small bump, I nearly lost control. Once I regained control, the front end was shaking and wobbling. When I got to work (after having to drive under 30mph on the L.I.E. to keep it from feeling like the wheel was going to fall off), I had it looked at and it looks like at least 3 or 4 parts in the front-end are broken and will need to be replaced. I havent gotten an estimate yet... Im procrastinating. Unfortunately, I was in a rush and needed to buy something quickly. I would suggest to *anyone* buying a used car from this or any other used car lot to get a mechanic that you trust to inspect it before buying it!

I bought a used 2013 Hyundai Elantra from Smithaven 112 about a year ago and my experience was phenomenal. I was 18 at the time and went to the dealership alone, which I was definitely nervous about but I came out of the dealership with an AMAZING deal on the car and an interest rate that could not be beat. Both Jim and Albert really worked with me to get me in the car that I wanted for a price that worked for me and I could not be more thankful! I decided to wait a year to write this review so I could give an accurate review on the quality of the car they sold me and their customer service after the car had been bought. About 3 weeks in, my car battery was giving me some problems. I called Smithaven 112 and they told me to come down as soon as I was able to. When I got there, they sent me down the street to an auto repair shop, I explained to the man the issue I was having and he went to take a look at my car. 20 minutes later, he handed my car keys back to me and told me he put a brand new battery in (at no charge) and I was on my way! My battery (and any other parts of the car) have not given me a problem since. Their customer service is amazing here. I definitely put miles on my car because I commute to and from Queens multiple times a week, but thanks to Smithaven 112, I have not had to worry about my car crapping out on me. I definitely recommend checking this place out if youre looking for a reasonably priced, reliable used car. 5/5 stars!
