best family oriented buisness ever. once you walk in you feel like youre at home. just with bikes and parts all over the place. the workers in there are great. they great you and they tell you things that other shops wont tell you. things like youre better off buying this at xx.xx then that which is xxx.xx. they dont try to make you buy the most expensive thing. they want you tobuy something thats more comfortable for you. if they dont have something you want in the store they are readily available at their distributer. once the shop calls them your part or bike should be in the following week if not the same week. once you walk in you see a large selection of mountian, cross country and racing type bikes. at the window you see a selection of BMX or kids bikes. All bikes inside the store are quality selected. the repairs there are quick and are not quickly done like most shops. other shops dont care about your bike. they just care about the money and how fast they can do it. the mechhanics here take work at a rapid steady pace where everything is well. if you are not satisfied with your purchase or repair they take everything into consideration except for unreasonable things. like riding your brand new bike for a year and tryign to return it saying it broke or something. great people great location and most of all a great shop -asian invasion yes its me

I didnt go into this wonderful local shop for a fancy racing bike (so many nice ones to pick from for the bike enthusiast) but instead I was looking for a very memorable first bike for a special little girl. Going to the big box toy store would not give me the personable experience I was looking for nor the quality and workmanship for a safe and strong bike to learn and grow with. Mike was friendly and courteous - he took his time to show me the appropriate size bike - there was no guess work - it was fun and easy. I was looking for a memorable purchase and I got all that and plus the peace of mind that I gave little Alessandra a safe and fun toy to grow up with. If I ever need an adjustment or repair, there is no doubt in my mind that I will go right back to Mike who will take care of all maintenance right in the shop.

Excellent customer service: staff is friendly and helpful. Decent selection of bikes (Giant, Jamis, Norco, some Marin) and gear. I dont, however, have confidence in the mechanic. I recently bought two mountain bikes. Sales experience was excellent. However, I had to completely re-adjust front and rear mechanical disc brakes on one bike and rear hydraulic brake on the other. The front hydraulic brake line wasnt even routed correctly. Also had to adjust rear derailleur. I even specifically pointed out to staff that rear brake was not properly centered. They took it in the back and mechanic said hydraulic disc was not centered because of where the fluid enters. I knew it was BS and how to fix it so I gave up and did it myself. In short, 5 stars for purchases and 1 star for mechanic.

If youre looking to avoid the foul customer service and other nonsense that others are rightfully complaining about in the posts on several other Park Slope / Carroll Gardens bike shops, I can recommend this place. Friendly helpful sales people took my daughter and I through a bunch of options, including test rides and even built a bike up as the choice we finally settled on. Very sweet with the kid too. Were going back and making them our family bike shop. Prices seemed right on track with mfg suggested retail from websites (giant, marin, etc). They suggested we come back after a few weeks of riding to tighten things up, gratis of course. These people clearly understand that theyre really in a service business, despite making their money selling stuff.

I have been here a few times, and the owner was very nice until I got my tire serviced. My tube was constantly deflating, probably because of an issue with the tire. The staff said they lined the rim with "rim tape" to protect the tube and gave me a new tube. Well, that didnt help and the tube was flat again within a few hours. I went back again the next day and showed them the deflated tube and the owner accused me of sticking a damn screw driver in the tube which I did not. I bought another tube to only have it deflate again. I went to another shop and, turns out the "rim tape" Bay Rigde used was actually DUCKTAPE. Thanks for the service, assholes.

I went to BayRidge Bicycle World to buy a set of Shimano pedals, i was looking for a set of silver PD-R540, but they only had the black set, so they offered to help me order them but i find that ordering will take too long for my impatience. they explained to me how the color does not really matter so i decided to buy the black set they gave me a discount and offered to help me installed them for free. This store has the Best services and the nicest people ever. Everything is also very reasonably priced. I will absolutely come back and also recommend my friends to go there.

Went there for gear and brake adjustment. Was charged $30. Took the bike around the block, it felt like nothing has been done. Rear derailleur continued on missing gears and brake-pads were not aligned. Took the bike back, this time the mechanic discovered that there is a rear wheel axle piece was missing that was creating a problem. To my request to refund my money, they spread their hands and said they dont do any refunds! Left the store with the same problem I came in with and $30 less!! RIPOFF!!!! Reporting them to BBB. Run dont go.

Good customer service - went in asking for a certain bike and the guy took his time to explain that they dont carry it because of another close by bike shop also having it, but showed my the exact same bike in another well known brand brand, also showed me one slight higher priced and after finding my needs still recommend the lower one because its all I needed - he was there not to sell you a bike, but to help you but the one you really needed, and I liked that alot. I will be buying my bike here most likely.

I was away when my shifter broke, the local shop in town wanted me to buy 2 shifters ( $105) and then pay installation ($45). Plus it would take 5 days to fix!!! When i got back home i brought my bike to BayRidge Bikes. I bought one shifter that they had in stock, no additional costs and it was done in 20 minutes. Thats when I realized what a great shop it is.. Great sales staff, very knowledgeable, great prices, super service, and always several Mechanics on hand...No need to look elsewhere

*I wrote this review two years ago. Their service has changed and I am happy with their results. Went there for my back wheel to be trued, inner tube replaced, and axle greased. When I picked it up I was missing my quick release skewers. Going back to them they put on some dirty, rusty quick release on instead. Not only that but my spokes broke after a day of riding on the trued wheel! WILL NOT be going back for service since they are so unreliable.
