It was my main store to get the saltwater fishes and hamster supplies for my daughter. My last purchase was a saltwater shrimp and it died 24 hours after. I knew about return policy to marine fishes are not guaranteed. But after revised my credit card statements and realize that I’ve spent more than $$$ with them, I decided to claim this issue and try to get a friendly solution with them (also to surprise my daughter when returns from school and find the new shrimp in her tank). Firstly, the manager “Jalessa” (who charged me) told me: I do not remember you. Then she mentions the marine fish policy, so I agree to buy another one. But surprisingly, she said that it was a mistake and the seller gives me one more expensive shrimp and I have to pay double price to get same one. Immediately, I refuse to pay more and demand to get the same price. It was not my fault and I will pay for it. At the end, I said: You will lose a value customer and the only word that she said was “OK. So, they made a mistake with no sorry, no options, no solutions! What kind the manager!! I’ll never buy again in Petland – Union City at Columbia Park.. I forgot to mention the racist attitude. The guy who sells the fishes (Esteban) deals a fish with my family in Spanish. Them when I get back to him and try to get a help with the manager, surprisingly, he told me “I do not speak Spanish”. I saw many people donating pets at that store. Please, don’t do it. They don’t care about animals, they only care about the money!

My eldest Daughter and I walked in "AS ALWAYS" to look at the Puppies, We saw a puppy Silky Terrier, We just stared at him because he was very lively and making the most noise while most of the puppies slept. A young Latin girl went around the back and Lead us to a room where we could be private with the pup. We had no intentions of Purchasing a pup, Or so I thought. Well While I was rolling around the floor with this pup my Daughter was buying me my "Fathers day gift". And that was "Nikko" my new Silky Terrier. When I finally was handed the puppy . He was clean, Brushed and smelled like a rose. The entire staff were so helpful and explained everything and anything I needed to know about Silky Terriers before I left and they walked us along for the full month we have Our New BABY Nikko! I never write to thank ANYONE because very few places merit it. But this place will see me many more times for food,Bedding and anything we need for our puppy these people were DAMN GOOD! I urge Anyone looking for a reputable place for puppies Go to Jersey City Petland. No doubt you will be impressed. L Colon Newark New Jersey.

Yesterday I went to PetSmart I was on a mission for a hamster the first one I went into I got an attitude from a young snot nose tattooed pierced employee so I walked straight out and i called the manager today about my experience the other 2 PetSmarts I went to had no small animals at all so I happened to find this Petland location and I could not be happier the sales gentleman who helped me was very sweet very knowledgeable and I left happy with my little male dwarf hamster with all my questions answered I walked into the store which was going to close in 10 minutes and normally when I do that anywhere I get rushed but they did not rush me the sales gentleman was so sweet to show me all the little guys they had and really helped me choose the right one for me and I love my little buster I dont think I will go anywhere else and I called the store this afternoon to tell the manager how much I appreciated his helpful very sweet stuff keep up the good work guys!!!

My boyfriend and I started a saltwater tank back in February. For a while we would get our supplies from the Petco or Pet Goods near our jobs. We looked around at other pet stores close to us for the weekends. We found this Petland Discounts by ShopRite. It has become our go to place. Weve bought numerous fish from there and loved them! Prices are a littlw higher than Petco but we dont just buy from them, we get advice and information as well. The manager is incredibly knowledgeable. Saltwater tank arent easy and weve been given great help from everyone at Petland Discounts. The employees there are also incredibly personable. We are always greeted and they even remember the fish we have. They go out of their way to get us special orders that we require to feed our fish. They even helped us find a home for a fish who became quite a bully in our tank. We appreciate all the help theyve given us and highly recommend them for any of your pet needs.

Only the main Manager knows his fish everyone else is an amateur, I tend to play to stupid not hurt anyone feelings when it comes to fish, but its hard. Good place to buy common fish but DO NOT BUY anything over $20.00 you will greatly regret it. Maybe a goldfish could be most suitable to buy from this place, all other fish are usually sick and dying. Staff other than the manager should receive training on fish and not just make up prices and types of fish on the spot. If you want amazing fish worth your money go to ABSOLUTELY FISH OR AQUARIUM PARADISE..trust me 225gallon 5 year tank all fish still alive from the beginning all from the real experts knowledge.
