My partner recently discovered this place, because of our fear from reading recent reports about rat pork, Kentucky Fried Chicken chicken thats fattened-up so quickly with freaky grains, that the chickens break their legs because they grow so quickly, and just sit there waiting to be butchered. I swear, this stuff is enough to make you a vegetarian. In our case, we found the very best meat in the city and here it is. Estancia meat, yay~ Only 4 stars because the tuna for making poke just isnt sashimi grade.

I love the high quality meat that is sold here! While the prices are still equivalent to most quality stores in SF, I love the selection. Plus the butcher is always willing to steer you in the right direction with his opinion of the best bang for your buck cut. FYI my second option for good meat in the Marina is Real foods. Only issue I have with that place is that there vegetables are so god damn expensive! I personally am a huge fan of the lamb and veal here.

High quality meat, decent prices (youre still paying a premium for the high quality), excellent selection. Also has a good selection of fish, though the standard fish (salmon, etc.) is less of a premium quality relative to what you could find in a normal grocery store (safeway). Highly recommend for all quality meat purchases.

Wonderful meat and fresh fish selection. Dont go in expecting the same thing in stock every day - thats a good thing, as they only sell whats high quality and fresh. Staff is polite, knowledgeable, and will give informed recommendations on how to prepare anything for sale. That said, expect to pay for what youre getting!

Excellent meat in the Marina. Theyll special order any seafood or cuts with 24 hours notice. Very knowledgable. A little pricey, but the quality is great.
