OMG - do not use these butchers if you love meat. This is the second time we have bought a 1/4 of a grass fed cow. Call me old fashioned but I love thick juicy steaks which is why I spent over $1,000 for my Big Green Egg and another $350 for a chest freezer. This time we bought our meat from a rancher in Monroe and they selected Kelso. I asked for 1 1/2 thick steaks but Kelso told me they could only do 1 inch because the other person wanted 3/4 inch. So I agreed to 1 inch as a bare minimum. I just unwrapped my first package of T-bone steaks and they were not even a full 3/4 inch. Now I have 175 pounds of frozen beef that is dry and tasteless instead of thick and juicy. The rancher is willing to take it back and give me another 1/4 cow in the fall. And I am waiting for Kelso to give me a full refund or we will end up in small claims court. Still, it means going a full summer with no beef to throw on the grill. Of course, I will not allow Kelso near my next lot of meat. Not only did the beef cost me $721 which was okay but Kelso charged me $135 for butchering and in my opinion they didnt butcher it, they hacked it to death. I could have done better with a chain saw. What a rip off and what liars they are. Do not go to them or you will be sorry. Find another butcher. I recommend you drive up to Sylvanna Meats who butchered our other cow and where we get our thanksgiving turkeys. The drive is more than worth it after being so thoroughly reamed by Kelso.

Kelso Kustom is the best. Meat selection is always great, and they usually have some great cuts that arent in the case. You can find things here that you dont see in a grocer meat case, like my favorite, the pork steaks. The dudes who work there are always super nice. Its not a fancy place, but if you want a good, fresh cut of meat, there are no better places in town.

Kelso Meats is definitely the only place I will be buying meat from now on. The quality is top notch and always fresh. Their smoked and cured meat selection is awesome especially the Beef Jerkey! Prices area reasonable too. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They dont carry lamb but with such low demand it is understandable. Super convenient parking.

Unlike the Ass who complains about his steaks not being 1 1/2" thick I think Kelsos is great. It is nice to go to a local butcher and know you are getting High quality meat that hasnt been died red for color or injected with anti-biotics and preservatives. Go get your 1 1/2" artery clogging waiting for a grabber steaks somewhere else you hill-jack.

The employees there are really nice, friendly and do their ABSOLUTE best to take care of the needs you have when it comes to meat, they also have VERY reasonable prices which is great when youre on a budget. I may have only been there once but it is where I will continue to go for all my meat needs.

We love Kelsos! We have ordered beef and pork and we have never been dissapointed. We will be picking up another 1/2 beef soon. Great customer service and great variety of frozen and fresh meat products. I highly recommend.
