We have been waiting on Marvas Place to deliver a purchased item for nearly two months. A good business does what they say they are going to do and backs what they advertise. THIS IS NOT A GOOD BUSINESS if you expect this type of integrity. We purchased an item in August and it still hasnt shipped. After we purchased the item and they received payment, they said they wouldnt ship it for the price they advertised saying it was a mistake. We have emailed and spoken with Dwayne Morton several times and been told in two emails that the item was moved too the dock area the first being 9/23. On 10/6 he emailed that moved to the warehouse today. Each email says he will call the next day which he does not. Each email is full of apologies but the end result is the same....no call, no response.....no receipt of the item we paid for in August. The owners should seriously consider finding someone with a semblance of ethics to represent their business. Based on the dishonesty in advertising, the misleading email responses and the repeated failures to follow through with delivery, I would not recommend doing business with Marvas Place. I invite the owners to respond to this review with an honest statement about why they dont stand behind what they publish, dont follow through with commitments and dont do what they say they are going to do.

Horrible service and assistance. After personally speaking with Marva twice in the store I was first told of approx. $750 to $1000 in fees for pieces I was considering to sale. When I inquired about est. value based on pictures which she personally told me should could do from pictures i sent her and that i was a bit surprised by fees she suggested I go elsewhere. Thanks for the help!!! Rather than to then transport the items to the store and then possibly be disappointed with the value I asked if she could come by and place a value on the items which she said she could do for $199 which i agreed to. In the meantime our daughter decided she would like the items and i called to cancel the appointment and ask for a refund which she said she could not do. Again, she did not advise of a non-refund policy when she took my card. She also states in her material there would be the other handling charges but no mention of level of fees which are much higher than other stores selling similar items. Glad it turned out in the end to not have my items in her store given the concern of what other surprises might come up and her lack of attempting to be informative and cooperative.

I found a set of chairs I liked on Craigslist. The site mentioned on the ad was Marvas Place, so I went there and lo and behold there was a 20% off sale going on! I was floored that I was able to buy the chairs with Paypal or credit card and purchase (very reasonable) delivery to Eagan all online. I was contacted the very next day to schedule my delivery. The delivery was precisely on time, and they even came on Fathers Day! The chairs were beautiful, exactly as pictured on the site. Outstanding service. I will shop again.

Just bought a new home on the bluffs in stillwater. Looking for some great pieces to put in my home. They had some wonderful pieces but were a bit over priced for the items. Staff was very nice, but definitely need to be a lot more reasonable with the price tag. If I wanted to pay prices like that for Gabberts style furniture, I would just get it new at Gabberts. The older vintage style items were very pretty, some of them. Yet, I found items in other places of the same quality for a much better price.

I was so surprised when I got to Marvas Place! Her shop is filled to the brim with furniture and the pieces are often even more impressive in real life then they look in the pictures on the website. I purchased both my desk and a gorgeous converted gas lamp (very Victorian looking) and couldnt be more pleased with both. Marvas prices are fair and her pieces are some of the best in town!

My favorite vintage furniture store! Outstanding customer service, both Marva and her husband are kind, honest, and reliable. I have purchased several pieces and had them delivered, scheduling was very easy to deal with. Good quality stuff, too, fairly priced. The showroom is a little bit crowded but, for me, thats also a plus (more goods to choose from that way).

I love a good consignment store and though I have not been to Marvas yet, my husband bought me a dresser online and I was not disappointed when it was delivered. The dresser is beautiful in near perfect condition and the gentlemen who delivered it where very friendly and punctual. I cant wait to actually go into the store and do some more shopping!

This is the finest selection of used furniture I have ever seen. I was blown away with the exceptional quality and the prices. I am enjoying my dining set that I purchased that I really couldnt afford to buy new. This is the best place to shop if you are looking to buy anything used. I will be back.

Beautiful high end furniture at a great price! Dwayne was most accommodating and worked hard to arrange shipping of a complete dining room set to me in another state. He also spent extra time to send extra photos and did research on the pieces per my request. Very happy with purchase!

In my opinion Marva is completely untrustworthy. When you cancel work you need to pay for what has been done. How can any customer trust an opinion or pedigree of a piece from some one who acts like this?
