I bought a Samsung phone; a new one, a galaxy S7. I have believed, since I was old enough to care, that Samsung was good manufacture, that you could trust their products, that they were top of the line. I am not sure I believe this anymore. I was maid of honor at my best friend’s wedding when the camera on my phone stopped functioning. This was heartbreaking. Yes there were many other people there with iPhone’s and Cameras, and some Samsung products that were working who took pictures. But there are none from me; none from her maid of honor, no selfies at breakfast, nothing from hair and makeup appointments, nothing about morning coffees or picking up the cake. These moments are lost, because my camera stopped functioning. I will never forget this but I might have moved past it if things had gotten better. They did not. In the following week my phone carrier did nothing to help, in fact they made things much much worse and I will share that too but for now I want to talk about Samsung. Samsung has something called “smart switch” it is a backup and restore program, so if you get a new phone or need to factory re-set yours you can do so without losing any data. It is “not compatible with your phone” now this is a program that comes pre-downloaded, it is the system backup and restore, there should be no way that is true. So I tried to contact Samsung about it. I filled out their smart switch customer service form and hit submit. The internet browser shut off, brought me back to phone home screen. The submit button closed all of my apps, and did not send my request anywhere… twice. So I tried to use smart switch hoping that the not compatible notice was incorrect. It wasn’t. I lost everything that I had not saved to google. To make matters worse, my camera is still not functioning, and Samsung still will not let me submit a request for smart switch. So here are my questions. Is Samsung a good company? Is there a customer service that is not fake? Why did I spend so much money a faulty product? and why if the company is good did I get such a defective device?

Im returning my Samsung Galaxy S8 to my carrier and saying goodbye to any future business with this company. I had this new phone for 13 days and had some issues with not having the voice assistant feature for car mode or texting and not being eligible for the real good promo offers was just the icing on this half baked situation. Recieved ZERO help or options from customer service on my 31 minute call today. Apparently my situation was classified as "special needs" and will be sent for further review not to mention the call was being "recorded". Not even a mention of a return call! I was happy with my S5 for the entire time, wanted to ease into the newest Samsung phone and was willing to pay for it. Now I just want my money back but the refund will be minus the $35 restocking fee for the return to the carrier. I cannot believe the lack of service for a loyal customer. Goodbye Samsung. As I promised on my call, Im returning the phone and I & my family will take our future business elsewhere.
