It suddenly struck me, before our family trip to Montana, that I should propose to my long-term girlfriend while we were there with our children (we have a big, blended family), and all of her relatives. Only problem is, wed been talking about using diamonds her late grandmother had left her for her engagement ring...and we had yet to pick out settings, or anything of the like. Not to mention, shes a big snoop - so keeping anything secret was nearly impossible! Knowing that wed decided to use a local company - and specifically R.F. Moeller, as they are in Saint Paul - I decided to see if they had a downtown Minneapolis location...and they did! Seeing as I only had ONE day to figure out an engagement ring, I was already feeling lucky. So I jumped online (trying to plot my days lunch break) and quickly found something perfect: a Claddagh ring. It has a lot of meaning in her Irish family, and figured this was the perfect spot-holder ring, which we could replace at a later time (while still making this a hopefully pleasant surprise). I used their easy-to-use online chat, and was quickly disheartened to find out that the ring was at their Edina location...and that the earliest they could get the ring to the downtown location was tomorrow afternoon - which was too late (as I had to leave work at noon for our trip!). Figuring I should at least take my break and see what they had in stock, I headed down to their Minneapolis location, where I was quickly met with a smile by the store manager, Tara. I divulged what was going on, and her immediate response was "...we wont let that happen. Dont you worry - well have that ring here tomorrow before you leave for your trip." Sure enough, the next day Tara sent me an email, letting me know she had the EXACT ring that I wanted in her possession, waiting for me. Thanks to Taras kindness and professionalism, my now fiancee and I, with our children present, were able to share a beautiful moment together - with the perfect ring: which she now cherishes, and wants to keep as her permanent choice. No doubt, well still be heading back to R.F. Moeller to pick out a place setting/ring for the diamonds - but what theyve now gained are life-long customers - thanks to Taras exceptional customer service, and for just being a truly warm, kind person.

Highest Praise for Carrie and the rest of the Moeller team in the Highland Park store! I am happy to describe my recent experience with Moeller and the service I received on my own heirloom 1920s-30s rings. Because I have been caring for my grandmothers 1924 platinum wedding ring for over 20 years, I knew its value and fragility; therefore, I was nervous about both the cost and quality of the appraisal and repair I knew this ring would need. I chose Moeller (their St. Paul, Highland Park location), and I am very grateful that I did. As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted by friendly staff who directed me to the wonderful Carrie. Carrie walked me through the entire process of appraisal and repair. She communicated with me (almost daily!) over the phone as she learned (from the repair specialists) more about the work each ring would need. She clearly articulated three separate options for the repair of my grandmothers ring, which had been erroneously repaired with white gold by others at some point in the distant past. Carrie was very clear up front about the cost of each repair option. Carrie also explained very clearly the damage caused by placing white gold on platinum. She described one option for repair that would gently remove the white gold and allow reconstruction of these areas with platinum, thus preserving the original platinum setting and strength. This is the option I chose and I am THRILLED with the outcome! I was stunned when I saw my grandmothers ring for the first time after the repair: it was more stunning and delicate than I had ever seen it! More importantly, it was the very same ring: the setting was preserved beautifully, and the integrity of the repair will allow more generations of women in my family to enjoy this ring for daily wear. I am grateful to Carrie, and to the experts who repaired and appraised all of my rings, for the attentive, personal service I received at the Highland store. I trusted them with my most valuable (both sentimental and monetary) piece of jewelry. I would do so again. When it was time to start looking for an engagement ring, I didn’t know where to start so I asked around to several family members for advice. My father and brother-in-law highly recommended R.F. Moeller. Each had been referred to Bob Moeller and purchased jewelry through R.F. Moeller. I was hesitant because I live in California and preferred to work face to face with someone locally. After doing online research, stopping by the local mall, and a few jewelry stores to gather some information; I decided to contact R.F. Moeller and spoke with Bob’s sister Nancy. It was the holiday season and Nancy was busy. However, she made the time to speak with me over the phone several times and educate me on buying an engagement ring/diamond. I had many questions and Nancy was responsive, honest, and gave clear answers. Most importantly, Nancy proved to be an expert advisor. She listened to my ideas about the design of the ring and the right diamond. Then she helped me narrow the search and offered her experienced opinion so my vision would also be practical and realistic. Together we settled on the right combination of cut, clarity, color, and weight to maximize each dollar spent on the diamond. When I had questions on style for the band, she offered her candid opinion and allowed me to make the final decision. In addition to answering my questions, she helped me know the right questions to ask during the process. This was invaluable. Working with Nancy was easy, fun, and felt like a partnership/collaboration. Her level of service was excellent, even after the purchase. She put me in touch with a local jeweler for sizing and arranged to have the ring insured for the first year. The final result was a beautiful ring which fell within my original budget, but exceeded my expectations and dazzled my wife-to-be.

When I became engaged in 2006, my fiance and I visited five reputable jewelers in the Mpls/St.Paul area. RF Moeller ended up being the last store we visited, and were helped by Tara M. Pellett, manager. We looked at many different rings for both my fiance and me. Tara was very patient with us and never hesitated to show us as many rings as we requested. She answered all of our questions and was extremely knowledgeable on all of their products and designers. We didnt buy any rings that day as we needed to "think about it". We returned to RF Moeller three more times. It was a major decision for us and we wanted to be certain of our purchase. Each time we visited, Tara worked with us. She was always very helpful, very patient, answered all of our questions, and helped us come up with ideas for rings. We purchased a beautiful mens Varna engagement ring. And, we designed my engagement ring and wedding band to match my husbands which was also designed by Varna. I was brought to tears by how beautiful my ring turned out. To this day, I get many compliments on it. Tara was amazing to work with and if it werent for her, we never would have ended up with such beautiful rings. We are now customers of RF Moeller for life. Tara helped my husband with ideas for a Christmas present for me based on our budget. He also went back to RF Moeller and Tara to purchase a "Mother Child" necklace after the birth of our first daughter. We added the birthstone of our second daughter to the necklace. Each time I visit RF Moeller, whether its to stop by to have my jewelry cleaned, or just to say "hello" to Tara, I am treated like a friend. Ive recommended RF Moeller, and specifically Tara Pellett, to many friends and colleagues, and will continue to do so!
