* Disclaimer: I did not get a discount or compensation for writing a review. After exhausting all of our options in our community (Fargo), it seemed rather hopeless that we would find anything that she (my wife) deemed as really special to her. A lot of time online and talking with friends that have moved to the Minneapolis/St Paul area, gave us new hope in finding the right ring. We decided to shop at Knox Jewelers (specifically the store located at 2921 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN) and see the styles we liked from their website. We hadn’t setup an appointment but they didn’t mind and helped us as soon as we walked in (not the pushy sales kind of greeting, just pleasant friendly people). We found the staff to be very knowledgeable and very helpful. We discussed styles, diamonds, and about everything else we could think of that was wedding related. She found the style that she really liked but was unsure of the stone. After some time to think about all of the options they had given us, I made another appointment (without telling my wife) to view some specific stones in the ring style she wanted. Unfortunately, the delivery company was late with the stones so I wasn’t able to see all of the ones I had requested at my appointment. Its a bit of a drive there and back for me to keep hidden from my wife (to keep it a surprise) and so I had to leave by a certain time to make it home before she did. I worked with Brent and Kristin on a plan to hold the stones for a week since I was going to be there over the weekend. Another part of the plan was to bring my wife into the store and have her unknowingly pick out the ring (final decision) and stone she wanted. I spoke with Kristin and Brent before I left to make sure they would be OK with it. Upon our return, the staff played along like they didn’t know who I was, that I hadn’t been there before, and they set it up to only show her the final three stones for the setting. When we left, I called them and they had all the details of our visit written down and ready to put into production. I put down the deposit and production began. I was given continuous updates from both Brent and Kristin including a login to view the ring as it was being made. They both checked in on us and as the weather turned bad (start of winter), they worked with me to ship the ring to my home in Fargo. The final product was beyond our expectations. The quality, attention to detail, and uniqueness of the ring sets it apart from all others that you will find in retail chains. She has received many, many, compliments and made most of her peers at work a bit jealous. Based on how nice the final product was and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, we were excited to buy our wedding bands there as well. When we came back to the store (this was over a year and a half later) they fully remembered us and joked about our last visit and everything that had happened. They were more then helpful once again and even showed me some custom work they were doing on a groom’s band that I might be interested in. We picked out the wedding bands and finalized the order. We were excited to see all of the updates on their production and both Brent and Kristin checked in with us routinely. When our rings arrived, they once again exceeded our expectations (our expectations had been raised based on our previous experience and how nice her engagement ring had turned out). The staff actually took the time to get to know us and were able to craft rings that expressed our ideas and tastes perfectly. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for a ring to shop at Knox Jewelers. Not only was the final product something so beautiful, well made, and unique (likely to become a family heirloom); the staff goes above and beyond to make sure that you are happy and find exactly what you are looking to purchase.

Fantastic experience! My girlfriend (now fiancee!) lived in Uptown and knowing we wanted to work with a local Minneapolis jeweler, Knox was the natural choice for us. Out of duty we of course looked at JB Hudson as well, which was admittedly very nice too, but their options were very commercial, impersonal, and amounted to what they had in stock that day. That wasn’t us and thus reinforced our decision to go with Knox. The icing on the cake was just how great of a store Knox turned out to be and how impeccable their service was! I worked with Kristin and she was awesome. Incredibly responsive, informative, and patient. She brought in various diamonds (over and over) to make sure I found the perfect one and one that fit within my budget. Along the way she was upfront about each diamonds quality and helped me identify value as much as possible. Kristins candidness about the process was refreshing and reinforced my belief this is the best place to get an engagement ring (or any ring for that matter) in Minneapolis. Comparing price of rings is difficult and I’m sure I could have saved a few hundred bucks trying to get something online, but I wouldn’t have been able to hand pick my diamond before buying it and would definitely not have had the memorable experience I had working with Kristin and Knox jewelers. It is also reassuring to know the rings are made in house so should anything happen to the ring I can go to the source..and when you’re spending 1000’s of dollars that is comforting (and worth something). Knoxs real strength is their service and variety of beautiful hand crafted settings. They may not have a ton of diamonds in stock (compared to what you would see at an online seller), but if you are patient and let Knox help you, they will search out and bring in as many diamonds as you want in order to find the perfect stone for you. Kristin was great about this and was incredibly patient with me. My fiancée and I chose the Jasmine setting which was beautiful to begin with and absolutely stunning in the end with the cushion cut diamond set in it! Needlessly to say my fiancee absolutely loves it and she (we) couldnt be happier! The craftsmanship of the setting is beautiful and the ring couldn’t be any prettier. We are already looking forward tow working with Knox again for our wedding bands.

Oh wow, where to start. Engagement ring shopping is a weird process, as theres a lot to learn and you (hopefully) only do it once. I looked around at a lot of places when looking for an engagement ring, and some where unhelpful, some were pushy, or a weird combination of all of that. I stopped by Knox Jewelers after a recommendation. The whole experience was great. The customer service was great. The store was great. They were clear, informative, and overall wonderful to work with. At the Store I called ahead, and they said i could drop by anytime during the day. So I did. They spent the next hour and half walking me through all the different parts of an engagement ring. Kristin walked through styles and colors of the ring, talking about pros and cons (as well as what other people look for). Generally, she would pull out 3-4 rings, talk about them, I would pick 1-2, and then she would grab a few more based on what i said i liked and didnt. After all that, we started talked about jewels, going through color, clarity, cut, and carat. Kristin had a samples of each to look at, and talked about what to look for. The whole time I felt like she was educating me about a ring first and foremost, and making sure I was getting a ring that would be what i wanted the best. "No pressure atmosphere" is DEFINITELY true. After picking all the parts, they emailed me a few more options (just in case) a few days later. I picked what we wanted, and production started ASAP. AFTER STOPPING BY Due to some issues on my end, they had to rush the job and ship it out of state. They were super clear about shipping, timelines, and kept me updated on the process the whole way through. I kept showing pictures of the "in production" ring to my friends, which was wonderful. On top of all that, the ring was slightly too large for her ring finger, and they made it very easy to resize it. THE RING I couldnt be happier with the ring. Easy to be within budget, it looks great, and was crafted just how I wanted! So: Knox Jewlers: truly amazing and awesome to work with. I usually hate reviews that are overly positive or dont have anything constructive to say, but Knox Jewelers is really incredible to work with.
