Purchase: Custom wedding ring based on a vague idea I had Lowdown: Wow. Inspired design that fit my wifes personality and character better than I could have imagined, and personal, prompt service and clear communications at every step. Details: Like many of you reading this review, I first came across Uniquely Yours through reading reviews. I figured if it was half as good as the gushing testimonials, it should be good enough for my purposes. I had what I thought was a pretty simple idea. My fiancee and I had picked up a pretty agate/quartz stone at Lake Superior. Id saved it and thought we could slice it in two, mount it on rings, and have a unique pair of rings. If it was done well, it wouldnt even be as cheesy as matching sweatshirts. I met with Jen when I first went to the shop. After I explained that rough idea, she walked me first through the process, timeline, and costs. Thinking about it later, that was important. Although I was never too concerned about cost, since I didnt need uber-expensive metals or stones, the rings actually did cost more than I had expected. But after she walked me through everything that would need to be done, it sounded reasonable and we got started. Jen took a very deep view of design, and once she started asking questions, I realized that my "simple idea" hadnt been simple at all. The ring was to be a surprise, so I didnt want to bring in my fiancee. Yet probably like many people asked to describe significant others, I was not good at describing what is unique about her, especially insofar as it might relate to design. Jen took care of that. She asked all sorts of probing questions about my fiancees habits, activities, values, etc., as well as how she liked to decorate and what other sort of jewelry she wore. The ring that emerged from that discussion was quite different from my original "plain ring with a rock" vision, but thoughtfully and beautifully aligned with my fiancee on multiple dimensions: 1) The irregular shape of the original stone was preserved and slightly modified to reflect a traditional food that my fiancee is fond of making 2) A texturing (I forgot what she called it) was added to the white gold ring to give it a more antique feel. Jen had discovered through looking at pictures of my fiancee and some of the activities and decorations she liked, that she was much more inclined to a classic, ornate aesthetic than to a modern minimalist one. 3) An accent of very thin gold wire was added around the base ring, to reflect the string that is used in wrapping of that same traditional food mentioned above. The result was precisely what one might hope for from a custom-designed ring: a unique creation of intense personal significance. And the price and timing ended up exactly where Jen had predicted at the first meeting. We had to go through a few resizings to make my ring fit correctly, probably more because I was unaccustomed to wearing a ring than because we had sized wrong in the first place. But no one at the shop ever complained or suggested I should pay extra for that. It probably goes without saying, but Id wholeheartedly encourage any friend considering a custom ring to go here. This level of design and service expertise is a rare find.

Being engaged with my wife for over 18 months I had a clear vision of what I wanted to get her as a wedding present. I had a diamond that belonged to my great uncle and I wanted to make it the focal point of a heart pendant necklace. I Went to Uniquely yours based purely off google and Yelp reviews. After about 30 seconds talking to Kelsey, I felt extremely comfortable working with him. I live about 40 minutes from the shop so driving back and forth was not possible. Jen made that no problem at all. After that first meeting, I had an email of different pendant styles waiting for me by the time I got home. Let me reiterate that... in 40 minutes, Kelsey and Jen took what I said, digested it and had an email of styles sent to me to narrow done and focus into what I wanted. We emailed back and forth for about a day before we found the perfect pendant. I gave a fairly wide budget to work with because I was more focused on the quality and the overall product than how much it cost, but they always kept me updated on the cost and found ways to make it a little more affordable ( like suggesting a palladium chain instead of a platinum one like the pendant). About a week before the deadline I realized I had a schedule conflict with the day I was supposed to pick up the necklace.... not a problem at all. I simply emailed Jen and they actually moved up the deadline by 3 days. I could not be happier with how this pendant came out. My wife was shocked and so impressed with the piece. It truly is a one of a kind piece that she has worn every day since I gave it to her. I cannot recommend Uniquely Yours enough to anyone who is looking to work with a Jeweler who cares about the quality of the piece that you want made.

I had inherited a diamond from my grandmothers ring a while back. For years it sat in my drawer until I happened to walk by Uniquely Yours while visiting Minneapolis this spring. I immediately went in and inquired if they would work with an heirloom stone, and if it was possible for them to work with me, even though I live in another city. They said yes, of course, and I immediately made an appointment to come back. Gregory met with me and listened to my ideas and then created a mock-up of the ring for me. Since I was planning on stacking my new ring with my wedding band and two other rings, he also carefully measured out the stack so everything would fit and even adjusted my wedding band (which was hand-molded by another designer 15 years ago!) so that the stack fits snugly together. Jen called me when they had the materials to show me the mock-up, and since I happened to be in town on business, I was able to see the mock-up before they began the finishing. Then, once the ring was finished, they send me images. I gave my feedback and they immediately made the adjustments I requested, and sent me a new photo. Once I approved the images they Fed-Exed my ring to me overnight, and even waited for me to hold the rings in my hand and decide for myself that I was fully satisfied before making arrangements for my final payment. Jen and Gregory made it very clear that my satisfaction was the most important thing, and were always eager to make the changes I requested. This new ring is special to me because it was made with an family heirloom, but it also--yes--uniquely mine! ;)

I found this jeweler on Yelp and it is close to my house--bonus!. Cant say enough good things about them. My project involved duplicating a simple, contemporary necklace pendant of my late mothers so I could give one to each of my three adult daughters as a sentimental remembrance. Uniquely Yours staff were extraordinarily accommodating, from beginning to end, giving me various options and discussing costs as we went along. I spoke with both the sales person and jewelry maker and both were so helpful--they didnt miss one detail. Everything was ready for pickup on-time, each in an attractive silver box. The plan involved creating and using one mold for all three pendants and they told me I could use the mold again to make more necklaces in the future, thereby saving one charge. The mold would be stored on-site. The necklaces are elegant and beautiful and most importantly, identical to the original. Putting them side by side with the original, I have to inspect them carefully to determine which is which. The chain I ordered for each one (based on their recommendation) is a perfect partner to this pendant, lovely, but not distracting from the main event. These folks are very skilled artists and conscientious business people. They have certainly earned my trust, admiration and respect.
