I didnt use their rental services, but I used their mechanic. I have a small 2 stroke scooter that broke down on my way to work. I called and he said to bring it in. I walked the machine 2 miles to the shop and he said it would not be a problem to have it fixed that day. I told him I didnt have a whole lot of money and to please call me if they could not figure out the problem in 2 hours (he charged $90.00 per hour). He said he spent 2 hours looking at the bike and could not figure out what was wrong with it. He only charged me 1/2 price because he couldnt fix it. I took it home and in 20 minutes figured out it was the fuel pump. I ordered the part and 40 minutes after getting the pump I had installed it and put everything back together. Im not sure what kind of mechanic he has working for them, but apparently he is not very good one. If a layman can figure out a 2 stroke engine in 20 minutes that a trained mechanic cant figure out in 2 hours... something is very wrong. I wonder if he would be willing to give me my money back.

I was a bit put off in the first place by their apparent lack of desire to answer my questions over the phone months prior to renting a bike from them. When the time came to go to the shop to rent the bike, there was no room in their cluttered office to do business, their 5-6 year old granddaughter was answering the phones, the computers werent working properly, and nothing about the operation seemed trustworthy. Dan got us the bike we wanted and the next day, 50 miles into our ride, the bike broke down. We managed to get to a HD dealership on my personal bike and had the bike towed to HD. Turns out the battery was completely shot, breaking apart from the inside, and it was not an HD battery, although Dan doesnt know how that happened. We lost a day of riding and he refused to refund any of our money. He even tried to cut costs by telling the HD dealer he would send them a battery to replace the one they installed. I will not rent from Dan and Midwest again...I dont trust him or his bikes.

I just called this place earlier today, July 21st 2014, to ask if they sell motorcycle tires and get some information on what this store is all about. This is the first time I have heard of the store and yes, it was the first and will be the last call. Within 10 seconds of the call the guy chuckled and said "We dont sell tires. Youre gonna have to call, (he stated a companies name)." Right afterwards he says something to a customer over the phone. I then stated, "Can i get the phone number to them?" He replys, "look man, I have other customers to get to. Go look somewhere else." I then said, "Are you serious? Is this how you guys treat customers on the phone?!" A small exchange of words and then I hung up. This stupid employee lost this company a good chunk of money and I will never do business with them again. Midwest Motorcycles has the worst 1st impression for me.

I was in Minneapolis and driving by this place when I decided it might be fun to pick up my girlfriend on a scooter. Boy was I glad I stopped in! It took all of 15 minutes from the time I walked in until I was on my way driving a brand new scooter to meet my sweetheart. No extra charge for helmets, fast courteous service, and zero hassle with the rental policy. All that was required was a valid DL and a $500 deposit on a credit card (which was voided upon return of the scooter). 50 bucks for 4 hours, 100 bucks for a whole day! We had a great time and will return!

Horrid hole in the wall nasty shop. Had to use their service out of complete necessity. Everything is overpriced and around six years old. Look at anything they have on the showroom and it will be a 2008 maybe 2009. Than they price them over the original msrp of the year they were manufacturered! They acted as if it wasnt 2015 and they were brand new. No test rides on out of date motorcycles and/or locally produced motorcycle (oz bike) that has been sitting there for at least eighteen months (owner told me that one). Complete joke show go there and get a laugh in.

I brought my moped in for repair. it had a small oil leak. the mechanic insured me that he can fix the leak. I pacifically told him that one of the hose was off on the bottom and thats not where the oil is coming from . He then insured me that was the problem. when I try to point out where it was coming from he said he was the expert he has been doing it for many years. he put a clamp on the hose then charged me 60 dollars. moped still leaks oil. when I call back to try to ask questions they said they didnt want my business anymore. very very bad business

I have rented from Dan and Carol for almost 12 years. Whether it is a personal rental or you are organizing a ride with friends, they are the best. They work hard to ensure all the details are taken care of ahead of time so on riding day you can focus on the day. Their personal service and attention to each person is a nice treat in todays crazy world where good service is hard to find. I especially appreciate their integrity and strong work ethic.

I feel I received significantly better and kinder service from Midwest Motorcycle than from Scooterville. The mechanic was helpful, sincerely tried to teach us how to fix the problem and was not at all patronizing to 2 women (a rarity in motorcycle/car repair industry). In the end I had to push the scooter in to be serviced. It was ready in less than 2 days, the cost was extremely affordable, and it runs better than it ever has!

Purchased a coupon through Amazon Local for a moped rental. Entered to a cluttered office, but service was fast and simple. Free loaner helmets for my lady and I, and they even gave me a free pair of shades (eye wear is required). They gave good suggestions on a quiet river route, and return was as simple as pulling into the parking area. I definitely recommend for a fun time and good way to see the city.

Ive tried to stop by several times in the last 60 days during posted store hours but it isnt ever open. There is still a sign on the door saying it will reopen in April 2007...its now July 2017. There is inventory inside but its never open. Called the phone number several times without anyone answering. When I called the corporate phone number, as directed by the local number, the voicemail is full.
