Edited: I originally rated my experience as a 5 star experience. During the process of purchasing our vehicle, Leo was very personable and worked hard to create a new customer. We received a good deal after negotiating with Jaime and I initially thought Ghent would be a great place to come back to when looking to upgrade our other vehicle. The service we have received after purchasing our vehicle can be best described as sub-par. When purchasing our vehicle, we negotiated into the price the installation of a spray-in bed liner from Auotplex in Loveland. They offer a great warranty matched with a great price. Being a knowledgeable consumer and researching prices as well as reviews, I felt like this was the best route to pursue. The first two phone calls to Leo left me dissatisfied having no definitive answer as to when the bed liner would be installed. After a failed third attempt to receive an answer, I responded to a customer relations email to explain the situation. I was contacted the day after I expected a phone call and again had no definitive answer on when the bed liner would be installed. The day after that, I called and was told that an appointment would be scheduled. After the phone call, I texted Leo to confirm that the bed liner would be installed at Autoplex in Loveland as negotiated into the sale. I received no response. The next business day, I called to leave a message. My message stated that this is the last time I would be in contact with a sales member and instead be reaching out to the General Manager. I received a phone call shortly after leaving the message to find out that an appointment for a spray-in bed liner had been scheduled with Line-X. After 11 phone calls to either Ghent or Leo, the one phone call to Autoplex to schedule the spray-in bed liner was finally made. The explanation that was given to me as to why it took so long to get everything scheduled was “a misunderstanding.” The reason I rated my experience as a two star experience rather than a one star experience is simply because I believe Leo has received inadequate training on how to handle the terms of a negotiation after a sale. He is new to Ghent Motor Company having only worked there for two weeks at the time of the sale. The chances of returning to Ghent for our next vehicle have significantly decreased because of this experience. There would have to be an amazing deal for me to return to Ghent in the future.

I cant even give them 1 star, but i was forced to in order to publish this review. I purchased my vehicle from Ghent in 2008. I just recently brought it in for service after I had a little automotive shop tell me what was wrong with it. First, they tell me the problem with the first issue is one thing. I told them that we had already replaced that part and thats not the problem. They argued with myself and my husband until we finally let them try it...it didnt work, just as we had told them it wouldnt. Then I told them what needed to be done as recommended by the other shop and they agree. Failure on their part to accurately diagnose. Secondly, we had issues with our tire pressure light. They tell me I need to replace all 4 sensors (which isnt cheap after the 600 dollars I spent on the first issue that I had to tell how to fix). I said well are you sure because I have a diagnostic recommendation from another company saying I only need one. They proceed to ask me if i know which tire and I tell them. They ask for me to hold, come back a minute later and miraculously now their machine agrees with me just needing one sensor. Funny, I called them on their B.S. and they realize I know they are trying to scam me for money and then they say I only need one. So they then proceed to replace the sensor. Come to find out they didnt replace the one I told them and I continue to see the tire pressure warning light. I go back and they say they want to do more diagnostics. Um, no we already did your job for you twice. So they then say ok we will just put in a new one (after much disagreement) but told us. If your light still comes on you are on your own with it. On my own? You are the dealer, you sold me the car, you have treated me and my husband with utter disrespect during all of this, and now you are saying we have to bite the bullet with our pocket book because your mechanics cant successfully complete their job? And you as a service MANAGER are terrible at service. In my opinion, people who cant perform their jobs accurately dont deserve to hold that position. I will NEVER be back to your establishment. I know friends and family who have also stated they will spread the word and will also NEVER step foot on your lot again. Good job....you lost several customers.

We went in to Ghent to compare prices and look at styles of trucks we did not expect to be able to buy one there. We thought we were going to have to go to a less reputable buy here pay here place. We were very proud and overjoyed when we left there in our new truck. Over the next several days the normal channels Ghent uses to fund vehicles all turned down our financing. We new our credit was rough and having started a small business we could not claim that income yet. It also turned out that although I am a disabled vet with over 22 years of service much of my income could not be included. We returned to the dealership and talked to Troy Showalter and the manage Yasser Ilahan. They spent the time to get to know us and look at all of our individual needs as well as our assets. Even the ones that the banks were over looking. We spent most of the day getting information and returning to the dealership. Everytime Troy was on the phone speaking to individual loan officers, credit Unions etc. Yasser continued to check on the progress. He never indicated that they were spending to much time on one customer or that they were giving up. The people and management acted as if we were the only ones they had to work on (we were not) made our problem a priority. Troy eventually completed what I would say is just short of a miracle. He finally found a lender that was willing to speak to him about us and our individual situation. TRoy and Yasser manager to change us from a faceless number on a credit score to people. Our loan was approved and we are back out doing our business in our new truck!!! It is amazing to go into a car dealership and be seen as a person worth spending hours on. It was clear that they respected that both us were veterans and that my benefits have value even if not on a credit score.. If you are considering getting a car or truck I highly recommend visiting Ghent first even if you dont buy one on your first visit it is nice to walk off of a dealership feeling good about yourself. With our credit and problems it would have been easy for them to see us two people that were not an easy sale and useless as customer instead they saw us with people with potential and value. I am proud to do business with them.
