I go to Maplewood rainbow when im in a hurry. Its equivalent to going to a convenience store, only they have better stuff. The price is a little more but your in & out in a flash. Last time I went there I only needed a couple items. I went to Cub across the street and the parking lot was packed. I was pressed for time, so I thought "screw that", and drove right through Cubs parking lot and went across the street to Rainbow. I was in & out in no time, and got the stuff I wanted. If I wanted to complain, I would probably take more control over the situation I put myself in, but I knew what I was doing, and im going to enjoy the convenience of this Rainbow while theyre still there. Of course its not where I do the majority of my grocery shopping, but I do like going there on occasion. If your uptight or broke, dont go there. If you can afford it and are a happy fun person, feel free to enjoy the convenience.

The dead side of Cub Foods that only exists to keep Hy-Vee no closer to Maplewood, North Saint Paul and White Bear Lake, than Oakdale. In spite of that, orderly and clean, good discounts, and fairly decent selection. Few shoppers make the visit quick, and you should find most of what your looking for good value.

Ever since SuperValu bought this store, they havent felt the need to compete against Cub Foods across the street. Rainbows loss leaders and dollar section are great! And since they are owned by SuperValu, they accept Cubs coupons. I save quite a bit of money there this way.

Its sad how underrated Rainbow is because Cubs Food is right across the street from it. But the great part about that is how quiet the store becomes. The prices are cheap and the workers are friendly. Im definitely going to visit Rainbow more often.

This store is great. It has almost every item I need, it is never busy, and their prices are generally very cheap. I love their dollar spice section and their produce. Definitely will continue coming.

Only issue here was the produce section...maybe I went on a bad day but the tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce and asparagus were all either limp or soft...

There is hardly any people here ever. I can get in and out without any hassle or weaving through crowds. Plus theres a lot of good sales going on.

Produce is always fresh and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, I only wish there where more of them, there always is a line to check out.
