I had gone to this mall 4 days ago to return and exchange about $150 in clothing and shoes. The bag I had them in ended up going missing, so I asked mall security if they could assist me, to which they replied that it was not their responsibility, and to check with the mall office. When I got to the mall office hallway, the one man standing there told me that he had no time to help me, and to call the nedt day, which I did. The final opp from Dlisa at Rouse Properties is that normal procedures were followed in my situation, theres nothing at all she can do to help except have her boss call me, and also that its common practice to never allow customers to actually see their lost and found area (the reason for this was explained but still made absolutely no sense.) If you are going to shop here, go with backup to keep an eye on your things while youre distracted, because mall security and mall employees will not be any help should you need them. I shudder to think how they would act if someones child went missing .

Southland is undergoing a major change! Interior is being remoleled, mostly done. New stores, new sitting areas, new restaurants!! Big new movie theater!! You could literally spend your entire day there! Start off with some starbucks & a cinnamon roll, relax & read a paper, then go to Victorias Secret & get something to make you feel fabulous, get your nails done, get your hair cut & styled @ ulta, grab some lunch @ primantis ( the pizza is amazing!! And happy hour 3-7 pm.) Then go see a movie. Shop more and then have dinner @ Grimaldis, which is soon to open. Parking lot is being redone & new landscaping underway ... Its nice to have so much to do, so near home, all in one place!

Let me start by saying that this mall has come a long way over the past few years. It used to be great - plenty of variety and a good food court, then they removed that to put in a Best Buy and several stores moved out or had such a limited selection that it wasnt worthwhile. Now, they have remodeled the entire place and looks great. The stores there still seem fairly limited, but its headed in the right direction. There will be a movie theater going in soon and the new H&M is definitely a good addition. Not a bad place by any means, but still lacking the things that make it different than any other large mall.

i usually enjoy this mall. however i had not been there in quite some time. My recent visit (3days ago) was very disappointing. My boyfriend and i had dinner at Olgas (one of my favorite restaurants) and the place was empty...we then walked to the best buy. I used the bathroom nearest to the best buy next to NY & Co. It was DISGUSTING. Every stall was dirty and NONE of the toilets were flushed. It looked like every toilet was used multiple times and was very unsanitary. This experience alone will not keep me from visiting in the future, but I will definitely consider using the bathroom before i go anyway.

Do Not, I repeat Do Not go to Deluxe Nail and Spa located directly across from Macys. They have the worst staff, especially the manager with the Bulging eyes. Their English is horrible and they do the worst work. They rush you through like cattle. They do not take pride in their work. Also, the pedicures are a joke. I repeat if you want a terrible nail and pedicure done, then go to them. But if you want great quality work, then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I had to give them at least one star in order for it to be posted. But Im really giving them NO STARS.....

They took out the food court to put a best buy in. I think that was a bad move but what can you do. The food places are still around but they are all over the place now. Its a clean mall it has a lot of parking. I noticed that there a lot of people who looked like they were there just to start trouble. I dont blame the mall for the rough crowd, I think it has to do more with the people who have been coming into the area lately. Cheap living in the area seems to be bringing in high crime rates. Like I said though, the mall itself is pretty nice.

I have been going to this mall for quite a long time and I have seen it in its ups and downs. I loved it when the mall had the food court (what is now Best Buy) but I do like how Best Buy brings in shoppers and in increased activity. More recently, the addition of a Cinemark theatre is a welcome addition and is a theatre with a premium, classy feel. Since then, the mall has undergone, and continues to do, major aesthetic improvements. Where the mall used to feel dated, now it is looking modern and clean! I always enjoy coming to the mall!

If your familiar with the lower east Michigan area then you will likely have been to a few malls as there are plenty in the area. Southland is unique in its lack of high dollar boutiques seemingly supported by the handful of anchor stores such as Best Buy or Macys. The mall itself it relatively clean and the shops that are offered besides the aforementioned are common affair and the mall itself is relatively small but comfortable to shop in. I look forward to writing an updated review when the upcoming theater is finished being built.

The mall has been remodeled it would appear. The stores are the cleanest I have ever seen, the staffing seems revamped, clothing in most stores appear well organized (as opposed to the way everything used to look, messy and not cared for). The bathrooms are nicer, and best of all, there were not any run down closed or vacant stores. Maybe I wont have to drive 45 min to a nicer mall. I will still have to drive to Troy or Auburn Hills to access higher end stores, but this is a great down river comfort.

A very nice mall. Many stores are there, including Best Buy, H&M, Things Remembered, Champs Sports, American Eagle, Shoe Carnival, a plethora of jewelry stores, and many more. Food choices as of April 2016 include Olgas Kitchen, Subway, Taco Bell, Jennas Dollar Dogs, The Pretzel Peddler, Auntie Annes Pretzels, Dairy Queen, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Dinky Donuts, Nestle Toll House, and a pizza place coming soon. A good destination for a stroll or for shopping or for eating. Always clean as well.

As many locals know, a few years back Southland housed an amazing food court located in the triangle skylight which really set it apart from other malls, but when they had the opportunity to open a Best Buy in the mall, they didnt waste anytime kicking the food court out. Its very disappointing. Despite that majorly poor decision, overall Southland is still a nice mall. Its managed to keep itself afloat through metro Detroits difficult times. Id say its the nicest of the 4 "land" malls.

Need more clothing stores and food places inside, plenty of sneaker stores the kiosk workers are friendly this is a greet mall if your coming to walk the mall with your kids or just for exercise and if you dont want to have to worry about your little ones getting lost its never really any crowds. I come to stitch n stitch a lot to get custom embroidery on my items the guy there is very well mannered and patient and shows you plenty of ideas of different fonts.
