I ONLY gave 2 stars because they do have good sales and are willing to price match, but other than that i feel sorry for every animal in this establishment. Not only do they NOT take the time to sex animals that are being caged together, (guinea pigs and rabbits) they also do not know how to care for many of the animals. many of the animals have the wrong diet, and is very apparent in the amphibian and lizards who many times are dead, have broken tails and irregularly formed joints. They order in animals that are very clearly too young to be away from their mother, and therefore normally die a few days/weeks later. fish tanks are almost always dirty and many many dead fish will be in the tanks.they also house agressive fish with community fish alot. expect to see a fish with many fins missing. the comment about the tattoo fish is true as well. last but not least the staff will be quick to tell you the WRONG way to care for an animal. ie. selling fish without a tank that has been cycled, and not knowing what product to sell to anyone. this is a classic case of a very uneducated pet store.

My rating is concerning the walk in pet clinic on Sundays. My kitten received 2 shots and was immediately placed in a box by the vet tech even though we asked for her back. Ive worked in a vets office 2+ years and have never seen a box used to contain a kitten after shots. Right after turning the corner IN the store we removed her and she was just sitting there in the dark looking terrified. If you do not want to hold the animal after working with it then SHOW some compassion and listen to the owners better. I suggested you lose the boxes, these are pets not squirrels. For that 15 minutes you work for us and Im very unpleased. Shortly after we took her to a REAL vet and found out they hadnt caught her respiratory infection. If they heard anything they certainly didnt tell us. Bottom line is pet supplies plus is great for SUPPLIES, they have what you need and Ive never had a problem with the staff. But for ANY veterinary services take your pet to a real vets office. Its the difference between a doctors office and a walk in clinic. Your pet will Thank you.

The employees are always eager to help answer any questions, help you find the best deal, or even just chat about your pets! Someone almost always offers to help me carry heavy things like litter out to my car, and they never forget to ask for your member number, which actually gets you some decent discounts. I get everything for my cat exclusively from here when in Lansing!

Do not go to this place for grooming!!! Ive been there about 5times and every time I went to there for grooming My dogs have been hurt, they did cut my pets ear and paw and keep saying nothing wrong with grooming and it was just red spot, even I can see bleeding. If you care about your dogs, never go to this place!!

Got my rat here a while ago. The woman trying to pick him up obviously hated rats, screamed when she grabbed my rat, and dropped him from at least a foot, making him squeal and scaring the rest. These people should not be working with pets. I will never go back there. All of their pets look sad anyway.

Horrible service and they had a cat and it couldnt open one of her eyes cause of how many eye boogers she had and the lady gave me a rude face and said we can only pay attention to the animals if someones interested and anyone like that should not be able to own a pet or work at a pet store

Terrible fish section! Almost every tank had multiple dead or dying fish in it. Also, they were selling tattooed fish which is barbaric and unethical.
