I am putting this up even though I did not have full service with them. I read the reviews and there arent many companies to deal with. I called, got a lady (forgot her name) and told her I read the reviews and decided to call any way. She was appropriate. They only do repairs and quoted me $69 - basically $70 for a service call that is part of the labor expense so it is not applied or credited as some may be familiar with - means you are paying this. I do not know if it is a good price. I would like to say she was pleasant because she was - or course I did tell her about the reviews. Knowing what these businesses may go thru with people calling wanting something for nothing or not happy with prices or many things, I will go ahead and say that maybe she could come across as rude and maybe because people are hard to please when it comes to repairs and repair prices. They are high and can cause this problem. So the reason for the review is because I did tell her about the reviews I read and she was nice to me. I do feel $69-70 is high but do not know if it is higher than most and DO KNOW that repairs are expensive which is why people buy new in the end. So in all fairness......this is the service price that is in addition to the full price of service including possible additional labor and parts. If you are in a predicament where you have to call them, try telling them you read the reviews and decided to give them a chance and a call. She was NICE and even said she appreciated me giving them a try. I have not decided if I am repairing at this point and would shop for prices - of course - as well as reviews. Appliance repair is a service that can get bad reviews - even buying used. So I just wanted to put this out there because of the reviews. If she was nice to me, maybe there is more to these other reviews (some of which is understandable) and each person may have a different experience. Without doing any more business with them at this time, I will give 5 stars for my contact with her. If I do business with them, I will review again.

The service technician came out to look at my washer. Immediately upon entering the room my washer was located in he stopped and said, "Oh, nobody told me you had a stackable unit. I am not working on that." He then got out a few tools, took the front off, turned the inside a few times and then made a recommendation to purchase a new unit because it would cost much more to fix it than to just purchase a new machine. Being a single mom and not being the most mechanically inclined I hated to complain, but I just couldnt shake the uneasy feeling that he was just trying to avoid working on the machine since he appeared irritated from the moment he walked in. I called the next day and spoke with a manager and she said shed look into it. She called less than one hour later and said she spoke to a different technician and he feels it was a good diagnosis. I have no idea how the new technician could diagnose my washer from not looking at it, but he did. I would NOT recommend this company and will never use them again.

Last year I called when my washing machine had a problem. They told me what I needed to do and showed my how to fix it. the part was only a few dollars, some nylon cogs to make the agitator go around. Recently I called when my dishwasher was making bad noises and they told me how to take the assembly apart to get into the area where food is ground up. I found some plastic pieces from a tooth flosser, pulled them out and the dishwasher works fine ever since. Before I fixed it I asked them what a dishwasher costs, told them I never use any fancy features, just the basic cycle. They said I could get good basic dishwasher cheap at Sears. I said, but dont you sell dishwashers. They replied, yes, but our cheapest one is more expensive. What honesty, to send me to the place that fit my need regardless of their own profit, and to walk me through repairs they could have made money on by coming out. You dont find places like this but once in a lifetime.

Worst ever! Unfortunately, Im stuck with Carmack because I have a warranty and this is the outfit I have to deal with. Nine days to get an appointment, need a new part or new machine whichever is cheapest. Week later I find out I will have it fixed per insurance company and was told by repairman Jim that I would take priority because Im in the system and they know Im waiting. He said two days. WRONG! Try eight more days of waiting. Why? Because as the manager said, we are very busy. I told her to hire more employees, but since we are stuck with Carmack, they dont have to worry about customer service. All she said was, sorry theres nothing I can do. So its taking about three weeks plus to fix a frigging washing machine that ABC Warehouse said would be fixed right away. I will never, ever buy from ABC, nor willingly ever use Carmack.

The technician did ultimately provide a solution for the problem with our gas range, but he was consistently condescending and patronizing throughout the entirety of the short visit. Though he voluntarily offered his <10 min service call for free (he didnt actually fix anything, but only offered advice and suggestions), his, "prick-ish" attitude (his own words) extinguished just about any goodwill his generosity had built. Maybe he was just having a bad day.... Regardless, despite the excellent price and results, as a consequence of the rude interaction, I will likely look elsewhere in the future.

Great company. I called for a repair on a Thursday and they were swamped; not being able to get to me till Monday. Explained my issue on the phone and they gave me a diagnosis and the part I should replace. They then walked me through how to get to the part and replace it (though I looked on YouTube to make sure). Sure enough went to their shop, grabbed the part, replaced it just how they indicated, and it worked!! Was very impressed. They may be a repair shop but they are good people who will help you when you are busy so you are not out a clothes dryer on the weekend.

This was one of a few places I called for a rough estimate on a refrigerator repair, I described the issue to each place I called and got an estimate for around $75-$100. I called Carmack and some rude lady told me it was going to be $600, that made no sense, why would anyone pay $600 for a repair on a used fridge, she was very rude. I would never call that company again or buy anything from them My fridge was fixed for $60.
