I stopped in here just before Christmas to check out some appliances. The young girl who helped me told me that there was a special deal going on, and that with a $10 donation to Make-A-Wish and purchase of a protection plan, I would get an additional 20% off of my purchase. Additional 20%? Sign me up!! So I continue browsing and found a nice Samsung washer and dryer set with a few dings on them, but overall good condition. I ask about the protection plan and am told it costs $250 per appliance. Well, I am not going to spend an additional $500 just to get 20% off so I decide on a set and we begin the sales process. She must get commission on the protection plan because come to find out, I did not need to purchase it to get the 20% off. I read the promotion and asked her about it and she denied ever saying that it was required. But she must have asked me at least 5-7 times during the process if I was really sure that I didnt want it. So we make our way to the register where I spend the next 45 minutes declining protection and having her ring everything in THREE TIMES because she messed up the first two times. We walk over to the units that I selected and go over the damage on them, and I am really glad that I did that because there is some awesome new damage on my units today after delivery. Speaking of delivery, it is $81.99 and they only deliver two days a week. I can deal with that. She told me I would receive a call the day before delivery to confirm. That did not happen. My mom called in the afternoon and was told that the delivery calls were made between 6-9pm. By 830 I still had not received a call so I called to check and must have let the phone ring 15 times before it was answered. The gentleman that answered told me I would get a call and that there was still 30 minutes in the 3 hour window. But of course, as soon as the window ends they are closed. Guess what? No call. And of course they dont answer the phone at 9:05pm. Today was the scheduled delivery and I had no clue what time they would be arriving. I had to work so my mom said she would come over and wait for them. I called as soon as they opened to get my time and again the phone rang for a very long time and I spoke to the same person from last night who put me on hold for a few minutes and told me the delivery time. Was that so hard? Moving on to actual delivery now. They called and told me they were 30-45 minutes away and that was accurate. My mom said they had arrived and that I was not going to be happy when I got home because they were trying to force the washer through my kitchen and kept pushing on something which turned out to be the handle on my stove, and I now have a brand new 4-5 inch scratch on the side of my washer. I also noticed some new dents that were not on the paper that I signed, even though the tiniest of scuff marks were documented. The entire process was made out to be extremely difficult and even though the prices are good, I will not be back. I am ok with buying scratch and dent products, but that does not mean it is ok to make new scratches and dents before and during my delivery.

Ive heard about the Sears outlet in Holland for a while and really havent heard anything positive. Well I was off on a search for a new refrigerator and figured Id give it a look for myself. Now theres quite a few items in there I may look at but Im still unsure of most of the products. Anyways back to my fridge shopping experience. If you go there looking for a new fridge. There might be no new fridges there. The fridges i had looked at were marked new boxed. Well a apparently,New means new display. Its a good chance that is going to be probably beat up. I spent nearly 2 hours there opening closing just playing around. Now being a fairly experienced handy person with nearly 25 years exp. I can spot troubles and start away a good amount of time. OK. Saying that. Theres allot of dirty appliances in that store. There was a really nice fridge marked cosmetic reasons. Obviously used fridge with complimentary pet hair included in there bottom freezer box. Buying an appliance for 75percent of what Sears sells them for new event when there on sale( which theres a sale like every week on something) when there really cosmetically challenged and returned for multiple repair reasons can be a steep gamble. Dont forget that warranty. Thats based on full manufacturer suggested retail price..not what you paid for it. OK so you can still save a couple hundred dollars..to right? Well you take that fridge home and it breaks in a short time. No problem theyll fix it. Or after it breaks 3 times they replaced for you. Now it could be a new replacement or another refurbished unit. And now lets say that happens 4 months after you bought it. It broke 3 times. They replaced it with another potentially problematic refurbished tested good, unit. Your warranty is used The replacement breaks. It can at times be nearly impossible to get it fixed on warranty. Then you needed another new fridge. OK buyer beware. Know what your looking for. Good deals are buried in junk. This store is not really on my go back to list.

I bought a dryer from this place back in May, I will never purchase anything from here again. The people they sent to deliver and hook up the dryer did it completely wrong. Wires were not hooked up properly. My husband went to do a load of laundry about 5 days ago and after having cloths in the dryer for about 15 minutes there was an awful smell of electrical smoke. The wires had got so hot from them not installing it properly that some of wires melted together. They could have cause a fire and burnt our house down. Thank God it wasnt started and went to bed or left the house. The worst yet is, that in trying to make this right we have got nothing but the run around as to whos fault it is. They sent 2 guys out to try and replace the cord. The 2 guys that came said "Yep, whoever installed this was an idiot and could have caused a fire." Well the new cord did not solve the problem, the dryer would not turn back on the arc created from the dryer being installed wrong fried the computer inside of the dryer. Sears will not replace my dryer, the delivery company is saying its not their fault, that it has to go through the guys insurance that hooked it up. Oh, and did I mention that they had already admitted to us that the guys that hooked it up had been let go due to shotty work??? We were told that an insurance claim will have to be sent and it could take 2-3 weeks to get answers. Im not asking for my time wasted or the money to replace the clothes that were ruined, I just want my dryer replaced. I dont understand why that is such a monumental task? I have even spoke with Samsung, the brand of my washer and dryer. They even said they could contact them to get the dryer. Im so frustrated and angry with their customer service, all the finger pointing. Someone just take some freaking responsibility and make it right. I WILL NEVER purchase from sears again. If I could give 0 stars I would.
