UPDATED REVIEW POSTED ON JUNE 6: THE ISSUES I ENCOUNTERED HAVE BEEN RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION, NOTED IN UPPER CASE BELOW. I HAVE UPGRADED MY REVIEW FROM 1 TO 3 STARS. I purchased a washer and dryer from from Steve Hurley on May 23. Heres what transpired: -Witbeck needs to stop the deception that occurs when a customer comes in to buy a particular brand, pays for that brand only to find out that the appliance was made by another company. Case in point, I wanted to purchase a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer and found out the day after they were delivered (from a call with Fisher & Paykel) that this very expensive dryer was made by a company owned by GE, not Fisher & Paykel. Had I known this at the time of purchase I would have selected a different brand dryer for less money. Im aware there is no law about disclosing this information, but it impacts the customers buying decision and its the ethical thing to do. If Steve Hurley knew this information he should have disclosed it. If he didnt know, he shouldnt be selling appliances. — ALL APPLIANCE STORES SEEM TO DROP THE BALL ON THIS AND IT MATTERS. IT’S UP TO THE PUBLIC TO DEMAND FULL DISCLOSURE OF WHO MADE A PARTICULAR APPLIANCE FROM THE PERSON SELLING THE APPLIANCE. -The work order specified that the dryer door swing was to be reversed by Witbecks service department before delivering the dryer, but that wasnt done because no one followed up to ensure it was done prior to delivery. — THIS HAS BEEN ADDRESSED. SEE BELOW. -Witbeck charged me $80 (called Premium Delivery) to deliver/install the washer and dryer. They sent an installer by the name of Kenny, who in the first ten minutes went on and on about what trash Fisher & Paykel washers and dryers are and "they should just stick to dish drawers." What a horrible thing to say to a customer who just dropped $2,000 on this purchase. It was very clear the entire time that Kenny was in a big hurry. I felt rushed and he complained about how many more deliveries he had that day and how late he would get home. He incorrectly connected the water supply to the washer and left without doing anything with the dryer. — WITBECK HAS REFUNDED THE $80 CHARGED FOR PREMIUM DELIVERY. -I had to hire someone else to make the gas connection to the dryer since Witbeck wouldnt connect it with my current copper gas line (this appears to be a scam). So, when the dryer was delivered I expected the installer to do everything except the gas connection, including reversing the dryer door. Kenny did nothing with the dryer except to put it in the basement, and he dumped everything else on the person I hired to do the gas connection, who was unable to reverse the dryer door. When all was said and done I was out $145 to have these appliances delivered and installed and the dryer door is still not reversed. This is outrageous. — WITBECK HAS REIMBURSED ME THE COST OF THE GAS HOOKUP. -As of the time of this review no one from Witbeck has contacted me to schedule an appointment for the dryer door. — BOTH WITBECK AND BIG GEORGE’S RESPONDED AND BIG GEORGE’S SENT A TECHNICIAN TO REVERSE THE SWING OF THE DRYER DOOR.

Beware, look around before you buy from Witbeck. They are excellent at taking payment, from there, everything falls apart. I bought a Viking rangetop, double oven, warming drawer and dishwasher in Dec. 2011. Delivery/install was set for January. They delivered the rangetop and sent the installer out, knowing 3 of 4 items werent available. Id been told the installer would bring the other pieces...he laughed at that. He opened up the box and found gouges in the front plate where the grill had shifted in shipping. It took weeks before all pieces had been delivered and installer could do his job.... snow on the ground. The INSTALLER ordered a new front plate in January, through the Witbeck salesman and Viking rep. Its now May 25. Ive called, stopped in to the store, called again and again, called store manager, called viking, called viking rep., called Big Georges corporate customer service and been blown off more times than I can count. Every time they promise to check and call me back. Only ONCE has anyone returned the promised call and that was just to make another promise....weeks ago and once again, it was dropped. Dont buy from Witbeck unless you have lots of time, and lots of tolerance for incompetance and empty promises. Seriously, these are just the HIGHlights of incompetence.

age·ism ˈājˌizəm/ noun prejudice or discrimination on the basis of a persons age. 3 years ago my wife and I went into the store, and after asking one of the salesman that we were interested in purchasing a stainless steel fridge, the guy briefly walked around, pointed to a couple of fridges, gave no additional information, and walked away. The following week we purchased a Samsung fridge from Lowes. Two weeks ago we went in to inquire about the Jenn Air downdraft gas range. As soon as we walk in, a guy was sitting at the desk and didnt say one word to us. We walked around the showroom, and no other salesman spoke to us. They did have the stove/range we were looking for, but no one asked if we needed help. We did notice that they were more than willing to talk, joke, laugh with other couples who are older. We ended up leaving and will shop somewhere else. I admit that both my wife and I look younger than others our age, but it seems that they really dont care about couples who appear as young. Their basic customer service is very poor, and can only imagine how poor their service would be if you purchased from them. I would never recommend this store to anyone due to their lack of respect.

Disappointed, but hopeful. We purchased / ordered all our appliances in early May for delivery in mid July. We paid for all in advance and scheduled delivery for 27 July. I was very shocked when one of the more expensive items (Maytag refrigerator) was listed on back order and was not delivered. The delivery person informed us, we should have been notified. I am hoping to be amazed by the recovery, but disappointed at this time. Update on September 12 - after multiple promise dates for the Maytag refrigerator, we actually had a delivery date and time scheduled for 3-6 pm on 12 September. I even called on 11 September to verify this would occur. As of 8:51 pm, no call and I am assuming the delivery will not happen tonight. I just wish there were negative star ratings for the Witbeck team at this point. Common courtesy would be to at least call to say the delivery will not occur on the day scheduled. I will call to hear the latest of excuses tomorrow.

I bought a GE refrigerator and the salesman, Shaun, was very concerned that I order one that would fit my requirements. He carefully explained the various models and what the differences were between them. When it was delivered the 2 men who handled the delivery were very efficient, helpful and fast. .They even helped me put the food back into the old refrigerator that they had moved into my garage as it was still working. Any furniture that was moved was carefully placed back into the same exact place it had been. They even closed the blinds which I had opened for them. 5 stars for Witbeck and a big thank you to all the workers.
